HI, I AM EXPERIENCING A KNOWN "CVT OVERHEATING" PROBLEM WITH MY ROGUE. WHAT'S HAPPENING IS THAT WHEN THE CVT GETS MORE THEN SOME THRESHOLD TEMPERATURE IT GOES TO SO CALLED "SAFE" MODE AND THE CAR LOOSES SPEED DRAMATICALLY, INCLUDING SITUATIONS ON A HIGH WAY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I BROUGHT ME VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES AND AS A RESULT THEY SUGGESTED TO INSTALL A "COOLER KIT" BY NISSAN WHICH POTENTIALLY CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM JUST BY COOLING THE CVT IS A "BETTER" WAY. THEY ARE ASKING FOR ABOUT $1200 FOR THE INSTALLATION. I SEE THAT AS A NISSAN'S DESIGN FLOW. I DON'T THINK PAYING FOR THIS OUT OF MY POCKET IS THE RIGHT SOLUTION. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY 2010 NISSAN ROGUE WILL LOSE POWER. I HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR DECELERATES; THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I CAN DO. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED 8/11/2016. I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 75MPH; ON A HIGHWAY WHICH IS FLAT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER; SPEED WENT DOWN TO ABOUT 60 MPH. FINALLY REGAINED SPEED ON FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD BUT EVERY TIME WE HIT A SLIGHT INCLINE WE WOULD LOSE POWER. I WAS USING THE CRUISE CONTROL AND WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT WOULD JUST DECELERATE COMPLETELY. IT DID IT SPORADICALLY. AFTER I STOPPED AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND PROCEEDED AGAIN, IT SEEMED BETTER FOR A SHORT TIME; THEN IT WOULD START UP AGAIN. IT'S VERY SCARY AND EVERYONE WAS PASSING US.....INCLUDING OTHER NISSAN ROGUES AND SOME TINY CARS?? THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS A RECALL!! PLEASE HELP!
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, CAR WILL LOSE POWER. WE PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND CAR DECELERATES; THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO POWER. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED 5/13/2016. WE WERE DRIVING AT ABOUT 80MPH; WE WERE ON A FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD AND THE CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER; SPEED WENT DOWN TO ABOUT 40 MPH. FINALLY REGAINED SPEED ON FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD BUT EVERY TIME WE HIT A SLIGHT INCLINE WE WOULD LOSE POWER. PART OF THE TIME WE WERE ON A TWO LANE HI-WAY AND CARS WERE BACKING UP BEHIND US. THEN, AFTER GOING ALONG WITH NO PROBLEMS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME WE PULLED OF AT AN EXIT. AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN WHEN WE TRIED TO MOVE GAS PEDAL WENT TO THE GROUND AND CAR DID NOT MOVE-THEN IT LURCHED SUDDENLY AND ACCELERATED. LATER IN THE DRIVE-ON A FLAT GROUND GOING 80 MPH CAR LURCHED AND DECELERATED --AS I SAID, THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE; THIS LAST INCIDENT WAS MOST FRUSTRATING AS WE WERE ON A LONG ROAD TRIP AND FEELING VERY UNSAFE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ON AN INCLINE AT 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 30 MPH. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY 70-75 MPH SUDDENLY THE CAR LOST POWER AND SPED DOWN TO 45 -50 MPH,I TRY TO PRESS THE GAS DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND NO RESULTS' PULLED OVER FOR 10 MINUTES AND THEN RESUMED TO DRIVE.I CHECKED THE RATINGS AND NOTICE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM .VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION,I DON'T THINK NISSAN WANTS ANYBODY KILL ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF NEGLIGENCE ! PAY ATTENTION TO THE COMPLAINTS AND RE-CALL THE VEHICLE BEFORE A CASUALTY HAPPENS PLEASE!
AFTER A 30 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE DROPS IN SPEED WHEN DRIVING UPHILL. VEHICLE SPEED DECREASES AND STAYS NO MORE THAN 35 MPH; RESULTING IN AN UNSAFE, HAZARDOUS CONDITION. NISSAN DIAGNOSIS FOUND TO BE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO REPLACE IT, P0725 AND U1000, HOWEVER CVT WARRANTY EXTENSION HAS EXPIRED.
WE PURCHASED THE CAR AS A NEW CAR DEMO. IT HAD ABOUT 5000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR RAN PRETTY GOOD FOR 60/70 THOUSAND MILES AND THEN WE STARTED NOTICING THAT WHEN WE WENT ON LONGER DRIVES(HIGHWAY), THE CAR WOULD GO INTO A "POWERLESS" STATE WHEN YOU STOPPED OR SLOWED DOWN. WE LATER BECAME FAMILIAR WITH THE TERM "LIMP" MODE OR "SAFE" MODE. THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO THESE MODES WHEN IT IS OVERHEATING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE NO COMPUTER CODES HAD SURFACED FOR THE TROUBLE. THIS VISIT WAS AROUND 80K, WELL UNDER OUR 125000 MILE WARRANTY. THE MOST RECENT TIME WAS 2014 WE WENT OUT OF TOWN AGAIN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. BEING ABOUT 400 MILES FROM HOME, WE STOPPED AT A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AND HAD THEM CHECK THE CODE. THEY TOLD ME THE CLUTCH/TORQUE CONVERTER WAS MAKING A CODE POP UP. WE PRECEDED TO DRIVE HOME AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. AT THIS POINT WE HAD 119000 MILES ON IT STILL UNDER THE WARRANTY. THECHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF BEFORE WE COULD GET THERE. THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN SAID NOTHING WAS SHOWING ON THE COMPUTER EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM EXACTLY WHAT CODE I HAD LEARNED OF BEFORE RETURNING TO THE SHOP. THEY AGAIN CLAIMED TO NOT BE ABLE TO WORK ON THE CAR WITHOUT THE CODE. I GUESS THEY AREN'T REAL MECHANICS! ANYWAYS, WE NOW HAVE 140000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE CODE IS PRESENT AGAIN AND ALL NISSAN CAN SAY IS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE US "EMPLOYEE" PRICING ON A NEW CAR BUT COMPLETELY REFUSE TO HELP WITH THE REPAIR. DOESN'T MAKE US FEEL GOOD ABOUT OWNING ANOTHER NISSAN.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMITION WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL THAN INTO DRIVE WITHOUT RESPONSE, I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART, I LET THE CAR REST IT STARTED AFTER ABOUT 20 MIN, ALL OF THIS OCCURED AFTER A LONG TRIP 1.5 HOURS THEN A SHORT BREAK 0.5 -1 HOUR. TRANSMISSION MAKES GRINDING NOISE UPON ACCELERATING TO NORMAL SPEEDS FROM COMPLETE STOP, AT TIMES CAR LOSES ACELERATION AFTER DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY/FREEWAY AND COME TO A STOP, CONSTANT SHAKING AND GRINDING/SQUEAKING NOISE FROM TRANSMISSION UPON ACCELERATION.
IN HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS THE TRANSMISSION WILL OVER HEAT. THE TRANSMISSION THEN GOES INTO SAFE MODE AND DISENGAGES FROM THE ENGINE. THE CAR THEN LOSES POWER. YOU ARE THEN STUCK ON A HIGHWAY WITH TRAFFIC AROUND YOU DOING 70 MPH AND YOUR CAR HAS NO ACCELERATION, NO POWER AND YOU ARE JUST STUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. NISSAN CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT (CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION) NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WAS FLUSHED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WAS DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEED FOR AN HOUR WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED RESPONDING TO ACCELERATION. GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND ALLOWED THE CAR TO REST. UPON ANOTHER HOUR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CAR AGAIN DID NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE NOT TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 70 ON THE INTERSTATE ON CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE SPEED SUDDENLY DROPPED 20 - 30 MPH AND THE ENGINE STARTED RACING FORCING US TO PULL THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE IDLED PROPERLY THEN DROVE PROPERLY THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP. THIS SCENARIO HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES, ALL BUT ONE WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE ISSUE IN NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN NTB14-002A:::---- 2008-2012 NISSAN ROGUE; REDUCED PERFORMANCE DUE TO CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE PROTECTION LOGIC THE MAXIMUM VEHICLE SPEED IS, OR WAS, REDUCED BY THE CVT FAIL-SAFE LOGIC AFTER CONTINUOUS OPERATION UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1)HIGH RPM AND/OR HIGH SPEED DRIVING (RPM OF 4000+ OR SPEEDS OF 65 MPH [104.6 KM/H] FOR 1.0 ? 1.5 HRS. OR MORE) 2)DRIVING IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OF 96 DEGREES OR HIGHER 3)CLIMBING STEEP OR EXTENDED HILLS FOR 6 MILES (9.6 KM) OR MORE 4)WHINE OR RATTLE TYPE NOISE OCCURRING DURING REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE (VEHICLE SPEED DECREASE) ---- NISSAN HAS A KNOWN AND INTENTIONAL ISSUE IN THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM WHILE OPERATING UNDER SOME VERY NORMAL CONDITIONS. NISSANUSA CONSUMER AFFAIRS INITIALLY TOLD ME THAT THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM WOULD BE COVERED. THEY HAVE SINCE INDICATED THAT THE REPAIR FOR THIS ISSUE (ADDING AN EXTERNAL COOLING MECHANISM TO THE TRANSMISSION) IS NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY... LOOKING FOR SOME SANITY HERE. NISSAN NEEDS TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION (DESIGN?) PROBLEM UNDER THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY....UPDATED 09/11/15 *BF
EVERY TIME I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, OR GO ONTO A FREEWAY, MY CAR CANNOT ACCELERATE AT THE PROPER SPEED WHEN PUSHING DOWN ON THE PEDDLE. THERE IS ABOUT A 5-10 SECOND DELAY TO GET IT TO THE CORRECT SPEED. I'VE BEEN HONKED AT AND I'VE BEEN ALMOST HIT BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND I'M SCARED THAT ONE OF THESE DAYS I'LL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT. I FEEL UNSAFE AND IN DANGER BECAUSE OF THIS CAR. IT'S UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE I ALWAYS THOUGHT HIGHLY OF NISSAN.
I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP ABOUT 2 HOURS OR SO INTO A 7 HOUR DRIVE AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE UP INCLINES. ABSOLUTELY NO POWER!! THE GAS PEDAL WAS COMPLETELY DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR. I WENT FROM 75MPH TO 45MPH AND WAS ALMOST HIT FROM THE REAR. THIS ALSO HAPPENED ON THE RETURN TRIP, BUT THIS TIME I KNEW ENOUGH TO GET IN THE SLOW LANE WHEN I APPROACHED AN INCLINE. ONCE I WAS ON STRAIGHT, FLAT PARTS OF THE INTERSTATE IT TOOK A LITTLE WHILE BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK UP TO SPEED. I STOPPED FOR GAS AND TRIED TO BACK UP ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND I COULD SHIFT INTO REVERSE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. A SHORT TIME INTO THE REST OF THE TRIP HOME MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. VERY DANGEROUS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL IN THIS VEHICLE.
DRIVING AT INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD IMMEDIATELY LOOSE POWER. SPEED WOULD DROP FROM 70 MPH TO 45-50 MPH VERY QUICKLY. IT SEEMED LIKE WITHIN 100-200 YARDS. THIS OCCURRED ON FLAT GROUND AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL HOURS OR SOONER WHEN GOING THROUGH HILLY TERRAIN, SUCH AS THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS. ONCE THE EVENT OCCURRED, IT WOULD REOCCUR. FOR EXAMPLE IT WOULD SLOW QUICKLY GOING UP A HILL, THEN GOING DOWN THE HILL YOU COULD GET BACK UP TO SPEED. ONCE YOU STARTED UP THE NEXT HILL, YOU WOULD LOOSE SPEED VERY QUICKLY AGAIN. ON FLAT GROUND AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, ANYTIME YOU ACCELERATED - SUCH AS DURING PASSING, IT WOULD LOOSE SPEED. TO TEMPORARILY "RESET" THE CAR, WE WOULD STOP FOR 10-15 MIN. THIS WOULD ALLOW THE CAR TO BE DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR BEFORE IT WOULD REOCCUR. TWO THINGS HAPPEN AS A RESULT OF THIS, ONE WHEN WE WERE PASSING A TRUCK WHO WAS SLOWED BY A HILL, WE PARTIALLY GOT AROUND THE TRUCK, THEN IMMEDIATELY LOST SPEED. CARS FOLLOWING US WOULD REALLY NEED TO BE PAYING ATTENTION. ON FLAT GROUND YOU WOULD JUST LOOSE SPEED IMMEDIATELY AND CARS WOULD QUICKLY CATCH UP. SECOND, STOPPING FREQUENTLY CAUSES TRIPS TO TAKE A LOT MORE TIME. CHECKING THE INTERNET RESULTED IN NISSAN'S KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM WHICH CAUSED THEM TO INCREASE THE WARRANTY. THEY NEED TO FIX IT. *TR
THE FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON 06/03/13, THE SECOND INCIDENT ON 08/24/13 AND THE THIRD INCIDENT ON 12/22/13. ALL 3 INCIDENTS WERE ROAD TRIPS WHERE THE PROBLEM APPEARED ON THE INTERSTATE AFTER HAVING BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF OR SO. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF ~70-80 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED BUT THE 2ND AND 3RD INCIDENTS OCCURRED WITH AND WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED. ON THE 2ND AND 3RD INCIDENTS, WHEN WE EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT WE ALSO EXPERIENCED AN ACCELERATION ISSUE WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IN THESE INSTANCES, I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE CAR DID NOT MOVE FORWARD, FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS, AND THEN SPUTTERED BEFORE FINALLY ACCELERATING NORMALLY. AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, ONLINE, AND SAW NUMEROUS POSTS WITH OTHER ROGUE OWNERS HAVING SIMILAR IF NOT IDENTICAL PROBLEMS. I PLANNED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT, SINCE THE PROBLEM NEVER OCCURRED ON LOCAL/IN-TOWN DRIVING, I PROCRASTINATED. AFTER THIS LATEST INCIDENT I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR DEALER - AUTONATION NISSAN PEMBROKE PINES - ON 12/24/2013. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO JAY, OUR SERVICE ADVISOR, WHO HAD A TECHNICIAN CHECK OUT THE CAR. HE SAID A TRANSMISSION CODE, <P0744>, CAME UP IN THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, NISSAN INSTITUTED A NEW POLICY ON THAT DATE WHICH REQUIRED THE DEALERSHIP REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BEFORE NISSAN WOULD AUTHORIZE THE REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH LOCAL DRIVING AND WOULD NOT ALLOW A TECH TO TAKE IT ON A LONG TRIP. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS BUT THEY WERE NO HELP. THE END RESULT IS THAT I HAVE A CAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED & THAT I CAN'T DRIVE ON LONG TRIPS. *TR
FIRST OFF, THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT...BUT THERE SURELY WOULD BE IF THIS CAR WERE TO BE DRIVEN IN ITS PRESENT STATE. ESSENTIALLY, CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE CVT (TRANSMISSION), SO THAT, WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR WOULD RESULT IN INCREASE IN RPM BUT NO FORWARD MOTION AT FIRST. IT MIGHT EVENTUALLY ENGAGE, BUT OPERATION IS TOTALLY UNPREDICTABLE. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE AND NISSAN DID DOUBLE THE WARRANTY THEY FAILED TO NOTIFY OWNERS CLAIMING THAT BECAUSE IT WASN'T A RECALL, IT WAS NOT REQUIRED. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY 10,000 MILES OUTSIDE THE *NEW* WARRANTY MILEAGE LIMIT, BUT HAD OWNER BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS IMPENDING FAILURE, REPAIRS COULD HAVE BEEN EFFECTED INSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD. NISSAN HAS DECLINED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER, BUT DOES HOPE THAT WE HAVE "A NICE DAY". WILL IT TAKE LOSS OF LIFE OR LIMB FOR NISSAN TO "DO THE RIGHT THING"? *TR
AFTER DRIVING FOR SEVERAL HOURS AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE CAR LOSES POWER GOING UP SLIGHT HILLS. THE SPEED DROPS FROM 70 MPH TO 40 MPH WITH THE GAS PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED. AT THE NEXT HILL IT LOST POWER AGAIN GOING UP THE HILL. THIS CAR IS BEING DRIVEN IN CONNECTICUT SO IT'S NOT BEING DRIVEN OVER MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THIS CAR LONG DISTANCES ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE FOR A WHILE THEN IT TAKES OFF. MY DAUGHTER AND I BOTH HAVE A ROGUE. HERS IS A 2008 AND MINE IS A 2010 THEY BOTH DO THE SAME THING. HERS IS WORSE THEN MINE. SHE HAD TO SIT THROUGH A ENTIRE GREEN LIGHT AND HALF OF ANOTHER ONE BEFORE THE CAR DECIDED TO MOVE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO TAKE OFF AND COULD TAKE OFF IN FRONT OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE READ STATEMENTS OF OTHER OWNERS OF ROGUES THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT) HAD OVERHEATED CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO BURN UP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT NISSAN I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE I DID NOT SERVICE MY VEHICLE AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY WOULD NOT OFFER ANY GOOD WILL ASSISTANCE. THEY STATED THAT ALL RECOMMENDED SERVICE WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP IN ORDER FOR ANY OUT OF WARRANTY ASSISTANCE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 NISSAN ROGUE S TRYING TO ENTER A MAIN HIGHWAY, THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS WAS GIVEN THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER SAFELY MAKING IT OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THE NEXT EXIT AND PULLING OVER, THE CAR WOULD STILL NOT GO OVER 5 MPH AND HAD NO REVERSE. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT WHICH COULD OF INJURED OR KILLED BOTH MY PASSENGERS AND I AND ANY OTHER MOTORIST APPROACHING ME AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE ROADWAY. *JS
