The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 70 MPH. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated and stalled with a whistling sound coming from underneath the hood. The contact coasted to the side of the road to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the dealer was unable to inspect the vehicle until the impact bar was repaired due to the vehicle being rear-ended by another driver, and because the vehicle had a Salvage Title. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,490.
Vehicle does not accelerate once running for a period of time despite pressing down on gas pedal.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, while driving the vehicle inadvertently decelerated without warning. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FORWARD OR REVERSE WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING OR FROM A STATIONARY POSITION
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER. I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY TO AVOID GETTING REAR ENDED.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR 2 HOURS OR MORE IT LOOSES SPEED. I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM TENESSE TO CHICAGO AND IT STARTED LOOSING RPM. I STARTED LOOSING SPEED AND HAD ISSUE GOING UP HILL. RPM WOULDN'T GO HIGHER THAN 2. I WAS IN A 70 MILE OPEN ROAD. EVENTUALLY I HAD TO PULL OVER AS I KEPT LOOSING SPEED. I GOOGLED THE ISSUE AND SAW COMPLAINTS IN SITES ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I WAITED 10 MINUTES TURNED IT ON AND IT RAN FINE. 2 HOURS LATER I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A RISK ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE FAMILIES LIKE MYSELF.
LOST SPEED DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, ALL OF A SUDDEN VEHICLE LOST POWER AND I WAS STEPPING ON GAS PEDAL AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO, I ALMOST GOT REARENDED DUE TO VEHICLE SLOWING DOWN.
MY VEHICLE CAN NEVER ACCELERATE 70+ MPH FOR MORE THAN 45 MINS AT A TIME, ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WILL SLOWLY START TO DECELERATE TO NO MORE THAN 40MPH. I'LL HAVE TO PULL OVER FOR ABOUT 10 MINS AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF.
AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 70 MILES OR 1 HR I LOST COMPLETE ACCELERATION ALTHOUGH CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED. I DISENGAGED CRUISE BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, AND COASTED TO A SAFE SPOT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR A BIT AND THEN IT RESUMED NORMAL DRIVING. THIS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS DURING MY TRIP FROM WEST PALM TO ORLANDO AND ON THE RETURN TRIP.
CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED WITH NO APPARENT REASON AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE LEFT LANE AND HAD TO CROSS FOR LANES IN ORDER TO STOP ON THE SIDE. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER, AFTER LETTING THE CAR TO REST, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT WAS TURNED ON. AFTER FEW MORE MINUTES THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RETURNED WORKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,891.
WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT APPRX. 70 MPH, CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN DRAMATICALLY TO ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR, DESPITE EFFORTS TO ACCELERATE. PUSHED GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR TO NO AVAIL. TRUCKS HAD TO SWERVE AROUND ME AS I ATTEMPTED TO GET IN RIGHT HAND LANE AND PULL OVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. SOUND LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS RACING (QUITE NOISY) HAVE TO STOP TURN CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND WAIT. CANNOT USE CRUISE CONTROL AS IT IS DANGEROUS.
MY NISSAN ROGUE WILL SUDDENLY LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING, ETC. IT HAS HAPPENED ON HILLS AND FLAT SURFACES. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, AS IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED MID TURN AND ON TRAIN TRACKS. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE, AND THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WHEN THERE CLEARLY IS. MY OWN RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSANS, AND IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CVT. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO CORPORATE AND THE DEALER I TOOK IT INTO.
IF YOU HAVE A SUSTAINED SPEED OF OVER 40 MPH FOR 30 MINUTES OR MORE THE CAR WILL STOP ACCELERATING. THE ROGUE IS EXPECTED TO BE A REASONABLY PRICED SAFE CAR AND NO ONE SHOULD EXPECT A $4,500 REPAIR (20% OF THE PURCHASE PRICE) AT 45,000 MILES. NISSAN KNOWS OF THIS COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS CHOSEN TO IGNORE IT.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD THE GAS PEDAL PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND IT WOULD NOT GO PAST 40 MPH THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS ON INTERSTATE 10 RETURNING HOME FROM HOUSTON TX ON AUGUST 17, 2017. I HAD NO PROBLEMS ON THE WAY TO HOUSTON. I HAD BEEN DOING THE SPEED LIMIT WHICH WAS BETWEEN 65 AND 75 WITHOUT THE CRUISE CONTROL ON. I HAVE BEEN READING UP ON THIS AND I HAVE FOUND OUT IT IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN'S ROUGES AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS AND THAT IT IS KNOWN ABOUT WHEN YOU GO TO THE DEALERSHIPS ABOUT THE PROBLEM.
LOSS OF ACCELERATION ON INTERSTATE AND INNER CITY DRIVING. COMPLETE LOSS OF SPEED CONTROL, PRESSING THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR HAS NO EFFECT. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS OCCURS. HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 40,000 MILES. I FEAR FOR THE LIVES OF MY PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN AND WILL NO LONGER USE THIS VEHICLE WITH THEM INSIDE.
THE NISSAN ROGUE 2013 HAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000 MILES ON IT, AND AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH HAVE FOUND MY VEHICLE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS A FAULTY CVT INSTALLED. NISSAN IS FULLY AWARE OF THE HAZARD THEY HAVE BEEN SELLING SINCE 2008. THEIR VEHICLES ENTER "SAFE MODE" AFTER DRIVING LONGER THAN AN HOUR DUE TO TRANSMISSION FLUID OVERHEATING, AS A RESULT OF NOT HAVING A COOLER/FAN. THIS SAFE MODE CAUSES YOUR VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER IMMEDIATELY AND IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE OR EVEN HIGHLY TRAFFICKED AREAS. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY REFUSE TO CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY. THIS MECHANICAL ISSUE CANNOT BE FOUND BY NISSAN CAR REPAIRSMEN BECAUSE IT IS FACTORY INSTALLED THAT WAY. PLEASE GET RECALL. I HAVE A 4 MONTH OLD BABY WHO'S LIFE IS AT STAKE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 70-80 MPH, THE CRUISE CONTROL INDEPENDENTLY DISENGAGED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
WHILE DRIVING UPHILL, THE CRUISE CONTROL DROPPED OUT WHILE GOING 70MPH AND LEFT ME WITH NO CONTROL OF THE GAS PEDAL. IT DROPPED ABOUT 20-25MPH VERY QUICKLY AND I WAS NEARLY RUN OVER FROM BEHIND, WHICH LEFT ME QUITE SHAKEN. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE GAS PEDAL TILL HILL WAS CRESTED. THIS WAS AND IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT HAS LEFT ME WONDERING IF I CAN EVER TRUST THE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY VEHICLE AGAIN. THIS DEFECT HAS GOT TO BE FIXED QUICKLY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. DEALER SAYS THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE BUT ARE GETTING NO HELP FROM NISSAN.
I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW IN MAY,2013 AND AFTER A WHILE I NOTICED THAT IT WAS MAKING A WEIRD NOISE WHEN GOING AT HIGH SPEED. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AT EVERY SERVICE, AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOTHING, OR THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. IN FEB 2015 I TOOK IT AGAIN AND ASKED THEM TO ADDRESS IT SERIOUSLY, THEY CLAIMED THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT BUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS OVER FULL AND THEY FIXED THAT. THEY ALSO SAID THERE WERE SOME TUBES CRACKED AND THEY REPLACED THEM... NOW MY CAR MAKES THE NOISE A LOT MORE, IT IS NOT ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN IT DOES IT IS LOUD AND SCARY. I CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND IT HAS BEEN HARD COMMUNICATING WITH THEM AND I THINK MY CAR IS UNSAFE AND MIGHT BE A LEMON. *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES. FEELS LIKE AND SEEMS AS IF MY CAR GOES INTO CRUISE CONTROL BY ITSELF. I LOSE RPMS AND CANNOT ACCELERATE UNTIL I SLIGHTLY BRAKE THEN GO AND ACCELERATE.
