The back window randomly exploded while I was taking my children to school and there are MULTIPLE complaints of the same issue but NISSAN hasn’t issued a recall yet. My children could have been cut or injured yet I am somehow responsible for a window exploding on its own all because I used the defoggers. That is not safe AT ALL.
Rear window shattered when my wife closed the drivers door.
The rear back window shattered on its own without any impact or object interference
We have colder weather, so we had normal ice and snow on the vehicle. I walked the backside of the vehicle to the driver side. I entered on the drivers side. I started the car and turned on the defrost, I then heard the cracking, which I assumed to be the ice. When I shut the driver door the back rear window shattered.
[XXX]- I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue. My car was parked in my garage. Once I pushed the button to start, the back window exploded! Broken glass everywhere. I was the only one in the car. My car has a little over 18,000 miles, and I cannot afford to get it fixed. I have insurance with a $1,000 deductible. I spoke with a dealership in Auburn, Alabama (this is where I live). I emailed pictures, and I am presently waiting for a reply. I have requested that Nissan fix this issue free of charge. UNKNOWN There are two issues. First one: After using the defrost, the rear window will shatter after the air pressure is change, opening the driver's side door to get in,the back glass shattered it. Second one: The technician informed me that on the nissian rogue, there is a gap in the back door panel that glass falls into making it nonexistent to retrieve all the glass, complicating the locking mechanism. I can hear pieces inside that door when opening it.
Yesterday, I got into my car - closed my driver door - and my back rear window completely shattered. Upon research online, this is a common issue arising among Nissan rogues. My safety was at risk due to glass exploding everywhere. The dealership where I got the vehicle has been informed of this issue. The vehicle was just purchased three weeks ago and passed its inspection. There were no warning signals, etc.
Check engine light came on. I hooked it up to a machine and read a code P2101 which indicates. Throttle actuator controlled motor store current failure. I had told to Nissan they did an inspection came back that he cleaned the throttlebody charge me $1053 and sent me on my way and my check engine light keeps coming on and it’s a recall on this particular car with this particular problem, but my VIN number is not showing up.
I rented this vehicle from Enterprise on 02/05/26 with approximately 50k+ miles on it. On 02/15/26 at approximately 945am I was stopped in a restaurant drive thru and heard a loud pop and looked back to see the rear window had shattered. I got out and verified nothing had hit the window. The driver next to me stated he saw the rear window explode without notice or outside force. The temperatures were in the mid 40s and raining. The rear defrost was not on at the time nor was the rear wiper. However both were on approximately 15-30 minutes prior for about 15 minutes.
Driving in the way to work when I heard a pound pop I thought someone was shooting at my car, looked in the. Back & my window was shattered broken.
I turned on my Nissan Rogue 2024. The moment I hit this on button I heard a loud bang and my back windshield had completely shattered. I immediately called the dealership I bought it from Beau Townsend Nissan because I knew I had paid for security plus gold preferred and Ultimate Platinum Protection and wanted to know what to do. The dealership gave me the number to customer care, then customer care said it’s not covered under extended warranty and gave me another number, and after talking to various people I ended up back with the dealership begging for help. They said oh it definitely would not be covered. This incident posed risks as there was no warning anything would happen. Much of the glass shattered into the trunk in small crevices and I have children. The glass sprayed across the driveway where it can get in tired if a shard is missed. I had to leave my car with a huge hole outside in my neighborhood where there has been convicted theft.
Rear Window exploded while vehicle parked.
Back glass exploded when driver door was shut. Upon further research, this is a reoccurring problem with most Nissan Rogue models.
I rented this car and the moment I started the ignition the back window spontaneously spilling glass all in the back and on my garage floor. Unfortunately the rental company is declaring this my fault and will be held financially liable.
My rear window exploded while parked and powered off. Absolutely NOTHING hit it in any way. I was just reaching for the handle to get out of the car when it happened. Please note I’ve only owned this vehicle for two weeks now. This happened one week after purchase. Warranty did not cover rear glass. I paid out of pocket for replacement. (I have receipts) I have found that in the 2 weeks of owning this vehicle that this has happened to MANY Nissan Rogue owners.
Back windshield spontaneously shattered while parked with no damage or external forces that could of caused this.
Rear door glass shattered. Vehicle was parked during work hours.
Back window spontaneously busting out
Vehicle was parked in driveway on a reasonably cool day and the rear hatch window fractured
I opened the driver side front door, got in, closed the door & the rear window shattered. No passengers. Nobody got hurt. No police report. Nothing fell on car. Dealer was no help. Insurance company made an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow morning. No inspections. No warnings. Going to cost me $400.00. Car is available for inspection anytime. Very frustrating. Car is 16 months old.
I have problems with my reverse camera. When in reverse sometimes it will freeze or show a blank screen other times it will act normal. I went to the Deloris 3 times 1 time they replaced the camera but it kept doing the same thing the other 2 they could not verify.
My sunroof exploded while driving down the road for no reason. It sounded like a gun shot and was alarming. Glass exploded and some flew off while some came into the car.
The morning after I bought this certified pre-owned 2024 Nissan Rogue from a local Nissan dealer, I went to get into the car, and after sitting down and closing the door, I heard a crash. When I looked back, I noticed that my rear window had fully collapsed. I got out of the car, and saw that the entire window was cracked and had imploded.
It was a cold morning and we defrosted our windows before leaving the house. We had been driving for about 2 hrs. We stopped and while in the car sitting with it parked, idling and with the heat on, there was a loud explosion sound and the back windshield blew out on its own on the passenger side! It flew outward behind the vehicle. It was like pressure came from within the vehicle and pushed it out? The whole back windshield started crackling for a long time and bubbling. This was very Scary when it happened! If someone or another vehicle was behind ours this could of been very dangerous or even worse if we were driving at the time and it caused an accident! I googled Rogue rear window exploding on its own and this has happened to others!!
I rented a 2024 Nissan Rouge from Enterprise. When it was picked up the only noticeable damage was on the driver side back wheel well where the trim piece appeared to be loose and there was a scuff on the finish. On [XXX] around [XXX] a business peer and I were just leaving Rosen Supply in Woodinville, WA. We were in the 2 front seats; car had not yet been turned on, and we were discussing our next business stop. While adding in the address to our phone GPS the back window imploded with no warnings, leaving 2 holes on the side of the window (have photos). In the moment we thought we had been shot at or someone had thrown a rock at the car. No one was around. Then a second implosion happened, and it shot glass out about 3 feet from the car into the parking lot and into the back of the car. This is when all of the glass fell out. Two people from inside of the building heard the explosions and came out to help us. They provided tools to clean up the glass in the parking lot. This was a very traumatic event and caused my peer to have heart palpitations and other concerns. Had I known this was something that could happen I would have chosen a different vehicle to rent.
