The transmission is flawed and a safety hazard as it goes out at very low miles and stops working in traffic causing accidents to nearly happen. When I looked it up it’s very common for this to happen in this make of model.

My moonroof spontaneously exploded while driving to work on the interstate. There was a very loud boom that sounded like a bomb or tire exploding and then glass started raining down on me while driving. Luckily, my children were not with, as there were small pieces of glass throughout the interior cabin including the back seat where they sit. I was driving alongside a semi when it happened and was at about the mid point of the semi's length. I initially thought the semi's tire blew and debris hit a passenger side window until the glass started falling on me. I live in Michigan. The temperature was around 30 degrees to 32 degrees. No snow, rain, or ice was on the moonroof or on the road that could have been kicked up to cause the break. The road and adjacent ground were completely dry. I parked in the garage overnight and had been on the road approximately 15 minutes when it happened. I was driving approximately 76 mph. This is the second time my moonroof exploded with this vehicle. The first time happened approximately 5+ years ago and the glass was replaced by a local glass shop under an insurance claim with Progressive Insurance. With the first incident, the result was a round hole maybe 9" in diameter, so I thought a large rock hit it. I was completely distraught over it, pulled over to the side of the road in morning rush hour traffic, and searched for a rock in the car. I found nothing. At the time of the first incident, it happened during a warmer Michigan month; though, I do not recall the specific timeframe. It was well above 50 degrees when it happened. I had been on the road for maybe 10 minutes and was driving approximately 70 mph. Now that it has happened a second time, I am absolutely convinced both incidents were due to a vehicle flaw. It happened yesterday, 12/11/2023. I have an appointment on 12/14/2023 with Graff Nissan in Okemos to have it reviewed. I am looking for a new vehicle because I'm scared to drive it.

Transmission suddenly went out while driving on a busy road after no prior issues and left me stranded. After that, it completely locked up and won’t even roll in neutral. Car was only 9 years old, 93,500 miles. Per mechanic it needs to be replaced and has seen other young Nissan transmissions with the same issues.

I currently have a 2014 transmission Sentra SV. I am currently in need of a transmission. This would be the 2nd transmission. Nissan corporate is stating that there is nothing that they can do for me they are very unprofessional and unapologetic on the issue that they have with their transmission. I I have contacted the head quarters to see if they could at least pay for half of the cost and the super Carl was very rude and stated that he was confused on what I thought that he could do. He also advise that that he was unaware of any issues with a 2014 Nissan Sentra. I advise that this was very funny since there was a law suit again Nissan because of this exact same issue. I am very disappointment in how things are going. I personally don’t have the money to get a new car nor buy a new transmission I think that since has been a knee issue Nissan should help pay or either pay for all services with the transmission

The car was having problems accelerating, and then would also drop quickly in mph while driving; both situations are really dangers to myself as the driver, my passengers as well as others on the road. I brought the Sentra to the dealership where I always get it serviced ( no warning lamps on). Upon inspection, I was told the transmission was failing, on an 8 yr old car with only 53k miles on it.

The check engine light came on while on highway. Attempted to put vehicle in reverse in a busy parking lot but it would not shift. Car is a 2014 Nissan Sentra with only 73700 miles. Mechanic says the transmission is stuck in "fail mode". The car shuddered ever since it was purchased. Dealer suspects the transmission pump is failing.

2017 I HAD AN TRANSMISSION REPLACE AT 50,000 MILES. THERE IS NO WAY THAT A TRANSMISSION SHOULD GO OUT IN A CAR SO FAST. HERE I AM AGAIN IN 2020 MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN. I HAVE CALLED CONSUMER SERVICE FOR HELP WITH THEY DEFECTIVE PART THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE MILLAGE. IT HAS BEEN SITTING UP FOR A YEAR AND I'M STILL PAYING MY NOTES AND UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR. THIS IS KNOW FAULT TO ME BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I HAVE SEEN AND LOOKED AT VIDEOS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE BUT YET NISSAN DOSE NOT WANT TO OFFER HELP TO THERE CUSTOMERS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ISN'T A RECALL ON THESE CVT TRANSMISSION. NISSAN MAKE A HORRIBLE PRODUCT AND THE CUSTOMER HAVE TO SUFFER. THIS IS NOT RIGHT FOR OTHER TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHER. NISSAN HAVE SOLD ME A LEMON OR FLOODED OUT CAR. I COME HERE FOR MY COMPLAINTS BECAUSE NO ONE IS TRYING TO HELP ME. THERE IS A PANDEMIC OUT HERE AND CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY CAR NOTE AND GET IT REPAIRED. WHILE IN MOTION MY VEHICLE IS JERKING AND STALLING. THIS IS NOT SAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE DOING ABOUT 55 MPH. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW MONTHS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS BUT I SEE THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND THEY ARE SAYING ITS THE TRANSMISSION. CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CAR PURCHASED MAY 31, 2019 AT 114174 MILES. CAR CURRENTLY HAS 151232 MILES. DEALERSHIP DID NOT MENTION THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.

CAR'S TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED IN MARCH OF 2018. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE TRANSMISSION THAT WAS REPLACED, THE FIRST TIME, IS NO LONGER COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. I EXPRESSED CONCERNS THAT NO VEHICLE WHICH IS SERVICED REGULARLY SHOULD REQUIRE ANOTHER TRANSMISSION IN A YEAR AND A HALF.

I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA SV. LAST WEEK AT JUST OVER 100K MILES MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON MY CAR. I HAVE THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND MY CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. NISSAN CLAIMS THE TRANSMISSION IAN OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT I WAS GOING 65MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND MY CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. THERE IS SO MUCH JERKING AND TUGGING. IT IS A SAFETY RISK AND NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECT ON THE CVT IN THESE CARS. THEY NOW WANT ALMOST $4000 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION TO BE PUT IN WHICH WILL MOST LIKELY STILL BE DEFECTIVE.

MY COMPLAINT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE WITH THIS VEHICLE....A FAULTY TRANSMISSION! I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW NISSAN ISN'T REPLACING THEIR FAULTY EQUIPMENT! OF COURSE AS WE ARE JUST OUT OF THE WARRANTY, IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM! MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO GET OFF SINCE THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE OVER 40MPH. THE RMP GAUGE WOULD GO BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T! IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO KNOW THAT NISSAN ISN'T BEING HELD MORE ACCOUNTABLE FOR SUCH A MASSIVE ERROR IN THEIR MANUFACTURING.

I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA THE TRANSMISSION IS SKIPPING YEARS AND JERKING WHEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY ARE YOU THEN PUT IT IN CRUISE CONTROL TO SEE IF IT WOULD STOP AND IT WOULDN'T THEN WHEN I WAS IN THE CITY IT WAS STILL JERKING AND SKIPPING AS WELL WHEN THIS STARTING HAPPENING I TOOK THE TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC THEN SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. THE TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST THEN STATED HE HAS FOUR OTHER NISSAN IS THE SAME MODEL IN HIS SHOP WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP EVEN STATED THEY ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THESE VEHICLES BUT THE ONLY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS ON THE 2010 AND WILL NOT FIX MY VEHICLE.

GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING YOU CAN FILL THE GAS ALL THE WAY UP AND THE GAUGE DOESN'T GO ON THE FULL BAR IT JUST FILLS UP TO 3/4. THEN THE GAS MILES WILL SAY 340 THEN NEXT THING YOU KNOW IT SAYS 280 THEN DRIVE A LITTLE MORE IT GOES TO 320. THE A/C DOESN'T WORK AS MUCH AS YOU FIX IT AND FOR THE A/C TO BLOW COOL THE GAS HAS TO BE FILLED UP ALL THE WAY.

ON 5 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS MY NISSAN SENTRA HAS STALLED ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 3 YEARS AND MY CAR IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED. I'VE NOTICED THAT THE RPM GAGE LOOKS SHAKY THEN THE CAR STALLS AS IF I'M GOING TO BREAK DOWN. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN TO ME CAUSE THIS COULD CAUSE DEATHS. I DRIVE WITH MY CHILDREN. ALSO I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.
