I was taking my family out to dinner when all of a sudden I kept hearing a rattle and something smacking on the bottom of my truck. I had people flashing their lights at me, so I pulled over into the nearest gas station and got underneath. To my surprise, the fuel tank was halfway hanging with the front strap. I looked where it goes and it's all corroded on the frame. I ratchet strapped it up in the meantime and turned back around and carefully drove home. I'm not sure how to go about my safety being at risk, I just know that a fuel tank falling/getting damaged because the OEM bracket strap on the frame corroding out is not something to take ever so lightly. Who knows what could of happened. The problem I guess is a big issue with 4th Gen RAM's all over the internet, so bad to the point that it went from a 3 year extended warranty until it was changed to a 12 year unlimited mile fix for a salt state such as where I'm located (MI). I have not had it inspected, due to if I have to drive on it, it's either going to get fixed or is already fixed. There were also no lights or indications besides hearing the noise and getting underneath for an inspection.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35MPH AND I HEARD A THUMP AND THAN A METALLIC DRAGGING SOUND I PULLED OVER AND FOUND MY GAS TANK HANGING FROM THE REAR STRAP THE FRONT STRAP PULLED OUT OF THE FRAME AND WAS RUBBING ON THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT THAT WAS THE METALLIC SOUND THE T SLOT IN THE FRAME RUSTED OUT AND ALLOWED THE TANK MOUNT TO PULL FREE FROM THE FRAME MY TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN USED AS A PLOW TRUCK OR OFF ROADED ITS A FAMILY VEHICLE WITH 76000 MILES THAT I BOUGHT NEW IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY OR TURNPIKE DOING 55 OR 65 MPH IT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS
Instrument cluster goes black. I have noticed a lot of people complaining about the same issue
Flooded cab resulting from cab leak from 3rd brake light has been fixed & mold remediation twice, while under warranty. Leak has begun again, along with the growth of dangerous mold that results under the back seats.
When driving the vehicle at 35 mph the vehicle jerks locks the wheels up and the vehicle revs up for a few seconds before returning to normal operational rpms. My vehicle has did this numerous times. Took it to dealership and been there for 2 months and said it was fixed the next day the vehicle did the same thing. Been an on-going issue for a year
Gas tank strap went through the frame. Gas tank fell off while driving down roadway. Dodge will not repair since the vehicle had come from Canada. No warning lights came on.
The gas taps on my truck rusted out cause the gas tank to drop almost touching the highway. Re-call on 2014 and older trucks but none on 2015 and new with the same problem.
This is the 2nd Dodge pickup with an exhaust manifold defect. My 2004 Dodge Ram and now my 2015. This is a wide spread well known defect that should be corrected.
Vehicle spontaneously starts when unoccupied as in garage and continues to run. If not found while running exhaust gasses will infiltrate attached house potentially causing death. The reason for vehicle starting is a defective car-fob that starts when bumped or dropped. Dealership says it cannot be repaired. This has happened several times. Problem checked by and discussed with dealer service.
My vehicle experienced loss of power assist steering, as detailed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 "Loss of Power Steering Assist If the vehicle experiences a loss of power steering assist, extra steering effort will be required, especially at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash"
Front Tank strap holder on frame failed. The front of the tank fell down and ripped the hoses and cracked fuel filter cover. The vehicle was running and spilled several gallons of fuel on the ground.
The issue described in NHTSA campaign 18V160000 is still present in model years later than currently covered. My 2015 truck has this same issue caused by the same defect. Noise was noticed while on daily commute on interstate, traveling approx 65 MPH. Upon inspection T slot bracket for the front fuel strap was corroded causing the fuel tank strap to fall out. Fuel tank was hanging by back strap only, did not contact the roadway, and the loose strap was making contact with the driveshaft.
exhaust flange bolts break not rusty. causes to melt and burn def line and injector engine will not restart after 200 miles
Truck caught on fire
THERE SEEMS TO BE WATER COMING INTO THE CAB SOMEWHERE. I GRABBED THE ASSIST HANDLE WHEN GETTING INTO THE TRUCK, AND WATER STARTED COMING OUT OF THE SCREW COVERS. I DON'T KNOW WHERE THIS WATER IS COMING FROM, BUT I AM SURE IT CAN TRAVEL DOWN INTO MY DASH AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE RUSTING AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS INSIDE MY TRUCK WHERE IT SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED TO WATER.
MY 2015 DODGE RAM ECO DIESEL CAUGHT FIRE, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. ITS A TOTAL LOSS. I DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE BUT AFTER RESEARCH FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL. CHRYSLER TOLD US IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT. THIS TRUCK WAS TAKEN CARE OF LIKE A CHILD, THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE FIRE.
KEY FOB WILL NOT START ENGINE. IF YOU UNLOCK DOORS & BEGIN PROCESS AGAIN, IT USUALLY STARTS. FOB BATTERY HAS BEEN CHANGED SO WEAK BATTERY NOT LIKELY THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BEGIN BEGAN ABOUT A MONTH AGO.HAPPENS A COUPLE TIMES EA WEEK.
TRUCK CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. NO WARNING SIGNS ON DASH. STARTED TO SLOW DOWN THEN SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM FRONT OF HOOD AS IF OVERHEATING. I PULLED OVER TO EMERGENCY LANE, TURNED CAR OFF , THEN POPPING SOUND CAUSING TRUCK TO GO INTO FLAMES AND POPPING WITH BIG EXPLOSION AND BURNING RAPIDLY. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT BECAUSE I HAD DOOR ALREADY CRACKED OPEN AND RAN AWAY FROM VEHICLE.
I CANNOT GET ASSISTANCE OR ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR OR THE CASE MANAGER. I AM JUST WANTING TO ENSURE THAT MY FILE IS COMPLETE. I ALSO WISH TO KNOW APPROXIMATELY WHEN I WILL RECEIVE MY CHECK. AFTER FUELING, THE GAS NOZZLE CONSTANTLY GETS STUCK IN THE TRUCKS FILL TUBE. IT TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES TO PRY IT OUT. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH DODGE 1500 TRUCKS.
AFTER HAVING THE REQUIRED FCA EMISSION UPDATE, THE TRUCK WILL HESITATE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR ATTEMPTING TO CLIMB A HILL UNTIL FULLY WARMED UP. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR DOES NOTHING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, THEN THE TRUCK ACCELERATES DRAMATICALLY. THIS NOTHING/EVERYTHING, IS DANGEROUS TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE TRUCK AS THEY MAY BE STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF. THE TRUCK IS DANGEROUS TO OTHER HIGHWAY USERS AS THE NOTHING/EVERYTHING THROTTLE MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. THIS IS A DRASTIC CHANGE IN THE DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS TRUCK FROM THE PRIOR TO FLASH SETTINGS. APPARENTLY DEALERS CAN NOT RETURN THE VEHICLE TO IT'S PREVIOUS SETTINGS, MAKING THEM LIABLE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE TRUCKS DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. THE EPA LAWSUIT AGAINST FCA HAS PUT NUMEROUS HIGHWAY USERS AR RISK!
81,000 MILES ON A ECO DIESEL. ON TRIP. CRUISE SET AT 75MPH ON I20 BASICALLY GOING STRAIGHT. A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, SOMETHING LIKE 'ELECTRONIC THROTTLE.' IT DID NOT STAY ON LONG. IMMEDIATELY STARTED LOOSING POWER BUT ENGINE STILL RUNNING BUT NOT RESPONSIVE. FINALLY CAME TO A HALT AND ENGINE DIED. ELECTRICITY STILL WORKING AS PUT ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS. STARTED CALLING RAM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. MY WIFE SAID SHE SMELLED SOMETHING. ABOUT MAYBE 30 SECONDS LATER WE COULD SMELL SOMETHING ON FIRE. SECONDS LATER SMOKE BILLOWING FROM BENEATH HOOD. WE BAILED OUT. GOOD SAMARITAN STOPPED WITHIN A FEW MINUTES WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER. HE AND I POPPED HOOD AND FLAMES ARE SHOOTING ABOUT 18' ALONG BACK OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WE GOT FIRE OUT BUT WAS STILL SMOLDERING. HAD ALREADY CALLED 911. ABOUT 5-10 MIN LATER RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND DOUSED ENGINE WITH WATER AS IT WAS STILL 'HOT' AND WE WERE ON SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY BESIDE LARGE AREA OF DRY GRASS. FIREFIGHTERS SEEMED TO THINK IT WAS ELECTRICAL IN NATURE. CAME HOME AND BEGAN TO RESEARCH 1500 RAM ECODIESELS CATCHING FIRE. SEEMS THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF INSTANCES AND ALSO SEEING FCA IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. THIS IS MY WORK VEHICLE FOR MY SMALL BUSINESS SO PRESENTLY INCAPACITATED. THANK YOU!

I CAN NOT LET MY WINDOW UP ON THE DRIVER SIDE. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHICH IS MILTON RUEBEN THEY ADVISED ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT IT'S NOT A RECALL. IF ONE OR MORE VEHICLES ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM THEN THIS IS A MANUFACTURE'S ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUED.
AFTER THE V08 RECALL MY MPG WENT FROM THE 27 TO 31 TO 19 TO 21 MPG THE RECALL WAS NOT SUPPOSED THE CHANGED THE MILEAGE THAT MUCH... AND THE SOME TIME IT SLOW TO THE START FROM A STOP
