July 14, 2021 arriving back to New Jersey from Las Vegas. I pick up my vehicle Wednesday night at Hoboken NJ garage , heading home my 2005 Toyota Camry vehicle air bag (steering wheel) deployed. As I was driving (15mph) no lights was on the dashboard, no pot holes on the street and there was no accident involving my vehicle. I was hit in the face from the air bag pretty hard it almost made me crash into a electric pole and gas station. 911 was called, the Jersey City police department, fire department and Ambulance arrived. The area was block off looking for car parts or pot holes nothing was found so the police report can be completed. I treated inside the ambulance at the scene, my left hand was burned and head/ neck was hurting. I just decline going to the hospital at the moment. The police called a towing company as I called my car insurance to informing them the situation. As my vehicle was being towed away the police officer said its a malfunction problem it can be a recall I don't know about. The following day I was in touch with my claim agent from my insurance, letting them no where my vehicle was towed at. They informed me to get in touch with the Toyota to see if they going to take full responsibility of the air bag being deployed on July 14, 2021 . I called Toyota Corporation and gave them all the information they asked and then I was told a inspector would reach out to inspect my 2005 Toyota Camry vehicle but it has to be a auto body shop. The place the police got my vehicle towed to the night ofJuly 14, 2021 from Hoboken NJ was not a auto body shop. It was just inside a gate full of other cars. I paid full price for storage fees end up getting my 2005 Camry to a auto body shop in Jersey City NJ were the Toyota Corporation inspector came out July 27 2021 . I called Toyota Corporation multiple times they kept saying it takes up to 30days to make decision from the inspection notes. Yesterday August 25 2001 I received a email they not taking blame.
STARTED RECEIVING CONSTANT RED ILLUMINATED AIR BAG ICON ON THE DASHBOARD WITH NO KNOWN CAUSE.
I HAVE FRONT SIDE AND P. SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR NOT WORKING ALL OF SUDDEN. IT REFLECTS AIR BAG SIGN ON INTO MY DASHBOARD.
TAKATA RECALL: AFTER BACKING OUT OF A PARKED POSITION, I BUMPED THE REAR OF THE CAR INTO A STATIONARY POLE. AFTER THE COLLISION OCCURRED, NO AIRBAGS OPENED AND THE "AIR BAG" LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED ON. ADDITIONALLY THE "PASSENGER AIRBAG" LIGHT TURNED FROM "ON" TO "OFF". NO DAMAGE WAS CAUSED EXCEPT TO THE BACK BUMPER OF THE CAR.

AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. PLEASE INCLUDE A FIX FOR THE 2005 CAMRY AIRBAG BEFORE THEY HURT ADULTS AND KIDS. THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. ALL TOYOTA AIRBAGS SHOULD BE QUICKLY CHECKED AND FIXED.....PICKING YEARS IS AVOIDING DOING THE RIGHT THING AND BEING CHEAP WITH A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. I SHOWED THE LEESBURG, VIRGINIA TOYOTA ON 6/29 AT 1030AM AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE $44.00 TO GET IT CHECKED! WHY MAKING MONEY ON TOYOTA ISSUE. SHOULD BE COURTESY CHECK AND FIXED IMMEDIATELY SINCE MILLIONS OF AIRBAGS ARE BEING RECALLED! PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL FOR CLEAR HELP TODAY! THIS VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST HOWEVER, THE AIRBAG IS CLEARLY STARTING TO PROTRUDE ON THE DASH. WORRIED IT MIGHT DEPLOY IF I HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE CAR WITH ME.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL PLACES AND NOBODY CAN TELL MEWHAT'S WRONG
PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG LOOKS LIKE IT IS READY TO OPEN UP & DEPLOY-STARTED OUT ON A SMALLER PORTION, BUT GETS WORSE BY THE DAY. POSSIBLY DUE TO THE HEAT HERE IN FL STATE?? I HAVE OWNED TOYOTA CAMRY'S SINCE THE 1990'S; LIVED IN NY STATE AND FL STATE, & NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAGS. THIS IS QUITE DISTURBING & SCARY-SHOULD I CALL THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER & SET UP AN APPOINTMENT? I DO NOT FEEL THAT IS IN MY 'FAULT', & THEREFORE, SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR-PLEASE ADVISE, THANK YOU.
APPROX 1 YEAR AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON SHOWING THE AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO RECALIBRATE IT, AND I WAS CHARGED APPROXIMATELY $90.00 FOR THE WORK.. IT WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS, AT WHICH TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN SHOWING THE AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE OR NOT, BUT I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY $90.00 EVERY TWO WEEKS TO HAVE AN AIRBAG RE-CALIBRATED. I NOTICED SOMETIME BACK THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER IS COMING UNDONE. *TR
ONE EARLY EVENING A DEER JUMPED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND I HIT THE DEER HEAD ON ABOUT 35 - 40 MPH. IT STOPPED MY CAR THE IMPACT WAS SO BIG. THE WEIRDEST THINGS HAPPENED TO THE VEHICLE THOUGH. MY BUMPER IS MESSED UP DENT IN THE HOOD BUT INSTEAD OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYING THE SENSOR BROKE OFF AND STARTED DANGLING BEHIND MY BUMPER UNDER THE HOOD. I GOT BAD WHIPLASH AND BACK PAIN FROM MY HEAD HITTING THE WHEEL, WHY DIDN'T MY SEAT BELT LOCK OR AIRBAG GO OFF? I JUST DON'T GET IT. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE? *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A WHIPLASH AND INJURIES TO THE STERNUM AND CHEST. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG STAYS OFF FOR A SMALLER ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. (~95LBS). ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP, THIS IS NORMAL, AND THAT THE ADULT MAY NEED TO PUT ON WEIGHT. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR SHOULD TURN ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY, OR STAY OFF WITH AN ADULT SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE PASSENGER IS SEATED CORRECTLY. PROBLEM CONTINUES TO PERSIST FOR ADULTS UNDER 95LBS. THE INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS TOYOTA. APPARENTLY, TOYOTA NOW HAS A TSB OUT - TSB EL005-05 TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. HOWEVER, SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL, THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED IN THE VEHICLE. *TR
WESTBOUND ON I-285, MIDDLE LANE, A CAR STOPPED TOTALLY IN FRONT OF US, AT DUSK. WE HAD 5-6 VEHICLE LENGTHS BETWEEN US ,BUT MOMENTARILY DID NOT REALIZE THE CAR IN FRONT WAS NOT MOVING, AS SHE DID NOT EVEN PUT ON HER BRAKE LIGHTS. WE BRAKED, HITTING HER IN THE REAR BUMPER. WE WERE NEARLY HIT BY A TRACTOR TRAILER BEHIND US, BUT MERCIFULLY, HE WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE FRONT OF HIS RIG TO THE RIGHT LANE BESIDE US. WE REALIZED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THAT OUR AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EITHER SIDE. THE SEAT BELTS REALLY HELD US. WE CONTACTED TOYOTA REQUESTING THEY PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO SEE IF THE AIRBAGS ARE FUNCTIONAL. WE SENT A CERTIFIED LETTER PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS 4/16/14. THEIR STATED RESPONSE TIME IS TWO WEEKS, BY LETTER. WE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. WHILE THE CAR HAS HAD SOME SMALL FENDER BENDERS ON ITS REAR, IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OF THIS MAGNITUDE. TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN AN OCCUPANT OCCUPIED THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. [XXX] WAS STOPPED AT AN EXIT RAMP ON A FREEWAY IN HIS 2005 CAMRY. HE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH, CAUSING [XXX] CAR TO HIT A GUARD RAIL. BOTH CARS WERE TOTALED AND SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE. [XXX] AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, DESPITE THE FACT HIS VEHICLE SUSTAINED LARGE IMPACTS TO BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK OF HIS CAR. [XXX] HIT HIS HEAD AND SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES (IN ADDITION TO OTHER INJURIES) AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT AND FAILURE OF THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. MY 2005 TOYOTA CAMRY LE WAS TRAVELING AT ROUGHLY 35 MPH WHEN IT CRASHED INTO THE REAR END OF A JEEP CHEROKEE. THE ACCIDENT WAS A HEAD ON COLLISION, WHICH TOTALED THE CAMRY. THE AIRBAGS FOR THE CAMRY DID NOT DEPLOY. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE CAMRY, INCLUDING THE BUMPER WAS DESTROYED. DAMAGES EXTENDED TO THE FRAME AND ALL FRONT END PARTS. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE IF NEEDED. I SPOKE WITH TOYOTA AND FILED A COMPLAINT, BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS LESS THAN SATISFACTORY. THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER TO CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY, AND TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE ONLY SPECIFIC SITUATIONS IN WHICH THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY. MY POSITION IS THAT THIS WAS A DIRECT HEAD ON COLLISION THAT DESTROYED MY 2005 CAMRY; THEIR WAS FRONT END FRAME DAMAGE, AND EVERY FRONT END PART FROM HEAD LIGHT TO HEAD LIGHT WAS DESTROYED IN THE ACCIDENT. MY DAUGHTER WAS HURT IN THE ACCIDENT, AND THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF THE AIR BAG HAD DEPLOYED AS ADVERTISED BY TOYOTA. *TR

I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE. A BED FLEW OUT OF A TRAILER IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE I WAS BEHIND, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES; I ALSO SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME ALSO HAD A BIKE RACK ATTACHED TO THE BUMPER, I HIT THE CAR WITH NO TIME TO FULLY STOP. MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY; AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ON DECEMBER 22, 20006 I WAS DRIVING INTO THORTON GAS STATION ON SHARON ROAD WHILE APPROACHING, THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING SUDDENLY MY CAR PLUNGE AHEAD AND SHATTERED THE FRONT WINDOW OF THE FILLING STATION IF IT WASN'T FOR THE BLOCK STOP I WOULD HAVE GONE INTO THE STORE, AN AMBULANCE WAS CALLED I WAS PUT IN THE HOSPITAL FOR TWO FOR TEST, THEY FOUND NOTHING THEN I WAS SCHEDULE FOR A BRAIN SCAN NOTHING THERE, UNTIL RECENTLY I KNOW FEEL THAT I KNOW WHAT HAPPEN TO MY CAR. *TR

THE CONTACT SUFFERED A BROKEN COLLAR BONE AND A SPRAINED NECK AND BACK. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED TWO BROKEN RIBS AND A BROKEN COLLAR BONE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT ALWAYS DEPLOY WHEN THERE WAS A CRASH. THEY STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS SENSORS WOULD ONLY DETECT A CRASH IF THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK AT A CERTAIN ANGLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE AIR BAGS TO BE DEFECTIVE AND STATED THEY HE AND HIS PASSENGER COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
MY HUSBAND HAD A WRECK IN WHICH THE AIRBAGS IN MY CAR DIDN'T DEPLOY. HE T-BONED A STEEL POLE AND THEN WENT INTO A RAVINE ABOUT 20 FEET DOWN HILL AND THEN T-BONED A TREE. THE CAR WAS GOING ABOVE 30 MILE AN HOUR AND NO BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT ANY TIME. HE KNOCKED THE POLE WITH THE CONCRETE STILL ATTACHED AND HAD BEEN BURIED ABOUT 2FT. IN THE GROUND DOWN INTO THE RAVINE AND TORE THE BRANCHES FROM THE TREE. THE FRONT OF THE CAR TOOK SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AND IT WAS REPORTED TO ME THAT THE FRAME WAS BENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. HE HIT HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND RECEIVED A BROKEN NOSE AND A LARGE KNOT ON HIS FOREHEAD DUE TO NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. *TR
