the panoramic sun roof is stuck open and will not shut dealer wanted almost 10k to replace
My 2019 Toyota Camry has 75,000 miles and is experiencing a premature and progressive transmission failure that creates serious safety risks. Symptoms include hesitation and loss of power during acceleration, harsh and delayed shifting, RPMs increasing without vehicle movement, failure to properly engage gears (including reverse), and loud whining/grinding noises. These issues make the vehicle unsafe to drive, especially when merging, crossing intersections, or accelerating from a stop. Toyota and the dealership have confirmed the transmission is failing, yet Toyota has stated that no new or used replacement transmission is available and no repair timeline exists. The vehicle was returned to me despite being unsafe. Toyota has provided no transportation assistance, no repair ETA, and no remedy, leaving me with an undrivable vehicle and ongoing financial obligations. I am aware of numerous similar consumer complaints and ongoing litigation involving Toyota’s 8-speed automatic transmissions exhibiting the same symptoms. This appears to be a systemic defect that poses a safety risk to drivers and the public. I am requesting NHTSA review and investigation.
The transmission started slipping in December 2025. It is been in the repair shop since approximately December 22, 2025. The shop can’t find replacement parts or a used transmission. The list for a new transmission is over a 1,000 nationwide.
The shut off valve coolant hose leaked into my engine and caused it to over heat, stopping in the street while driving and almost caused an accident. There was no warning until after it over heated. The vehcile was towed to a shop for inspection and I had to replace the engine. Due to the damage the coolant leak cause.
Total Transmission failed putting our safety at risk on a busy highway. Problem has been taken care of by an Independant Service Center. The car would not switch gears on acceleration to merge with traffic on the interstate and made a horrible noise and Check Engine light came on. $6000 later and week without a car, it is fixed. Our previous Toyotas NEVER gave us as many problems as this model. We are so disappointed and regret our purchase. Friends say " Buy a Toyota...they last forever...NOT !!" This is one of the worst models ever. A 5 yr old car with low mileage should not have a transmission blow. Transmission specialist told us many are putting in complaints of the same situation with same model but not enough yet to cause a Recall...IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. Makes me reconsider ever purchasing a Toyota again.
It started happening in the past month. We stopped at a gas station to get gas and after filling up the car doesn't want to start. It does start eventually after 4-5 tries. Then it's ok for a while. On 8/17 it did the same thing except once we put it in park the light engine came on. I cleared the codes and drove it again about 200 miles stopped to get gas and it happened again. I took it to the dealer and they said it might be the battery. I put a new battery and it seemed to be fine until the next day, 8/21. I stopped to get gas and after I filled up it would not start again, except this time the light engine did not turn on. The dealer is not sure what it is. From doing research there was a fuel pump recall for 2018-2020 camrys although my car was not included in it, from looking at the symptoms I have come to the conclusion that it might be a faulty fuel pump.
The transmission of my 2019 Toyota Camry just died. There were no warnings whatsoever. I only have about 70000 miles on the car and I am unable to find a replacement transmission anywhere. No I am stuck making payments on a car that can't be driven along with full coverage insurance and registration fees. The problem was confirmed by an independent service center. Car is available for inspection upon request. However, it is not drivable. Safety was compromised as the car would not move at a safe speed on the freeway when last driven potentially causing harm to myself or others.
P268115 engine coolant bypass valve I know my daughter received a letter from toyota to her 2018 camry to fix the same issue. But I checked and to my 2019. I have the same issue P268115 in my toyota camry 2019.
2019 Camry --> Toyota has customer support program 24TE04 notification for problem with bad flow shut off valve. Problems are engine maintenance light and A/C not functioning properly. This vehicle was purchased new and currently has 3350 miles. The A/C has not functioned properly since purchased. Bredeman Toyota in Park Ridge, IL contacted and appt. scheduled for 4/12/25. The service dept. advised a diagnostic fee of $170.000 would be charge. Toyota contacted about this since the vehicle should be under recall for this problem that could cause the vehicle to overheat. Case #[XXX] provided. I rec'd a call back 4/04/25 from dealership Serv. Mgr. Mike Cooper. Diagnostic charge would not be waived even though I was told they have replaced this part on numerous vehicles for the past three (3) years. I don't understand why Toyota hasn't been told to recall for this problem. Please consider taking this action against the Mfg. Known Transmission issues, causing the call to jerk and slow down during driving. Very dangerous issue due to 2018-2019 Direct shift 8 AT TRANSMISSIONS
My 2019 Toyota Camry SE experienced a transmission failure due to slipping gears. The issue became apparent when the car started hesitating during acceleration, with noticeable jerking and a lack of smooth shifting between gears. Despite routine maintenance, the transmission’s performance progressively worsened, with the slipping becoming more frequent and severe. Now i'm unable to drive my car anymore.
My transmission is no longer working and confirmed by the dealership and mechanic shop. My Camry has 60,900 miles when the transmission broke.
This car's moonroof shattered spontaneously one day with no incident at all or warning while my daughter was sitting in her car. Had it shattered while she was driving, it could have caused a major accident. Toyota would not cover under the warranty and we had to use our personal insurance to repair it and then a few months later it stopped working altogether. The sliding rails broke and the warranty would not cover it. Insurance would not cover it either and Toyota is quoting us $8,000 to repair. We took our vehicle back to the shop that repaired the glass from the shattered moonroof that stated it is a piece of the railing system that is broken.
Motor/Touch sensor on DRIVERS door handle stopped working. Sensor or key will no longer lock OR unclock DRIVERS door. Thought it was the key until it was replaced then a couple months later the door stopped working again.
My 2019 Toyota Camry with 73000 miles just went out and it will need a new transmission
Passenger seat makes sound like if the seat is not locked in. My passenger has a manual handle and it is not a electric seat. I get worried sometimes because when I have someone sitting in the passenger seat I fear that seat might shift forward or backward. This sound is more common when I make a full stop and hit the break pad. My car is always clean and I never have stuff under the seats for safety purposes.
Had a major issue with air conditioner evaporate core that was stopped up and caused the water to go back in the interior back seat return vent and soak the carpet and padding on the passenger side instead of going on the ground like it is supposed to do. This is definitely could be a safety issue and cause corrosion and mildew in the interior. I looked into and troubleshooted this issue and actually found out this was a common issue on Camry's. I ended up taking the vehicle back to the dealer and told them this was the reason the last person traded this vehicle in. The dealer wanted to get me another car instead and not fix the issue.
The factory glass center display console, in my 2019 Toyota Camry XSE, which contains a touchscreen radio and built-in HVAC controls, suddenly cracked in multiple locations. Small shards of glass are protruding from some of the cracked areas. Multiple owners have experienced this same phenomenon as highlighted in the attached link to a Toyota owner forum. A call to Toyota Care and trips to (2) Toyota dealers has resulted in the same experience; they stated to be unaware of a product defect that would cause this type of failure, and suggested that the cracked glass was the result of impact damage. That is not the case...the screen suddenly failed by itself. Obviously, the broken glass creates a safety concern for use of the touchscreen, and it's plausible that pieces of the screen could dislodge and become projectiles in the event of an accident. Please consider this failure for a product safety recall, covered by Toyota. https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/touch-screen-cracked.1397290/
I purchased my camera a few months back. My first complaint would be about the electrical system I assume. The automatic headlight feature does not work, it has caused my battery to die twice, when the driver door is open the interior lights don’t come on, and it will rarely start when using the key fob from inside to warm the vehicle. After purchasing I found out it had actually been wrecked & the carfax were not factual, assuming that could be a cause and not the actual vehicle being faulty. The main concern is that it sometimes doesn’t shift or struggles and will unexpectedly jerk into gear, then while cruising it seems to have some sort of lagging feel to it, also like a jerking feeling. I believe it may be a transmission issue but it feels very unsafe if you’re trying to maneuver in traffic when the vehicle isnt shifting properly almost causing another car to hit you
I DON'T HAVE THIS CAR ANYMORE, I CHANGED THIS CAR TO TOYOTA TACOMA 2021
WHENEVER THE AIR CONDTIONING SYSTEM IS USED, THERE IS A STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL GETTING INTO THE CABIN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SERVICE AND THEY SAID IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE 30K WARRANTY (CAR IS AT 24K MILES) OUR BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT THIS MAY POSE A HEALTH HAZARD TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE CAR, SINCE IT IS OBVIOUS SOME TYPE OF CHEMICAL IS GOING THRU THE A/C VENTS; AND THAT THE TOYORA DEALER IS NOT HONORING THE WARRANTY SERVICE.
