"TAKATA RECALL" THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT SUBMITTED TO YOU. THE TOYOTA DEALER HAS HAD MY CAR FOR 1 YEAR-- UNACCEPTABLE- THEY HAVE NOTHING TO TELL ME REGARDING WHEN THE RECALL WILL BE FIXED. TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED MAY 24,2016 AT THAT TIME IT WAS ADVISED THAT WE NOT USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION IT TOOK OVER A YEAR TO GET THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. WE HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO UTILIZE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FOR OVER A YEAR SO WHEN WE TRAVELED WITH MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE IN THE CAR WE HAD TO TAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. I EVENTUALLY GOT MY GRANDCHILDREN FOR THE SUMMER AND ON THEN WAS I TOLD I COULD GET A LOANER VEHICLE SO IN MAY OF 2017 I WAS PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE AND MY PARTS CAME IN 2 WEEKS LATER. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IT WAS AN INCONVENIENCE AND I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE COMPENSATION FOR THAT.

SO WHEN WE GO SOMEWHERE, I HAVE TO RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT OR IF I HAVE FRIENDS, WE HAVE TO TAKE THEIR CAR. THE DEALERS CAN NOT NOR WILL NOT OFFER ANY RECOURSE. I FOUND OUT THAT OVER 23 MILLION CARS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS. THE QUESTION IS: WHERE DO WE FALL IN THIS NUMBER FOR REPAIR. WE ARE TRAPPED WITH THESE CARS. WE LIVE IN TEXAS SO WE ARE IN THE "LIKELY" PROBABILIY DUE TO HEAT AND HUMIDITY OF AIRBAG ACCIDENTALLY BEING DEPLOYED. TAKATA RECALL. IN MAY 2016 I WAS NOTIFIED BY MAIL THAT TOYOTA IS RECALLING A TAKATA INFLATOR ON MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. I USE THIS CAR TO DRIVE MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER AND I TO WORK AND SHE CAN NO LONGER SAFELY OCCUPY THE FRONT SEAT PER THE RECALL INSTRUCTIONS AND TOYOTA'S SUGGESTION AGAINST IT. THIS IS DETRIMENTAL TO MY FINANCIAL SITUATION AS WE NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 CARS SO WE CAN DRIVE PLACES TOGETHER SAFELY. THERE IS STILL NO CONTACT FROM TOYOTA AS TO WHEN A RESOLUTION WILL COME.

ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2017, THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TOYOTA PASADENA (3600 E FOOTHILL BLVD, PASADENA, CA 91107) WHERE IT WAS SERVICED FOR UNKNOWN RECALLS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A 1968 CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN INJURY TO THE SHOULDER DUE TO THE SEAT BELT RETRACTING. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS PROVIDED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,808.
