Unintended acceleration since purchase of vehicle.

several weeks After I took my vehicle into the local dealership for the PWMS assembly window panel control switch problem, I realized my door panel and the switch area was loose. I mentioned this after a couple weeks when I really noticed the Window Master Switch mechanism was dropping downward under the panel cover. The dealership did not take me seriously, so it continued to get worse. I should have taken the car back and insisted they fix it. As of today, I cannot use my Key for power entry, i must manually use the key in the door. The power on the windows still works, but the whole master switch assembly is precariously hanging there in the door and the panel that went on top was damaged when they replaced it so now its broken off in pieces and cannot even be used. I am SO unhappy with this dealership, for the many times I have taken my car in for service. I do not want to go back to them at all after the horribly shoddy job they did with the Master Switch and their lack of concern when I told them they put my door back together poorly. Is the work guaranteed, particularly when it's been this long since I took my car in for this recall fix? I take care of my car which at its age only has 38,000 miles on it. I do not want to take it to the same dealership and unfortunately there's not another one close by. Can you help me by demanding a dealership fix my problem before I actually have a fire due to the unprofessional manner in which the dealership handled my recall fix? I wish I had ignored the recall because my car was better off before I took it in.

my car had issues completely shutting down on me while I was driving which was very dangerous my abs light and steering light would come on each time it shuts down and I wasn’t able to use my power locks lights I couldn’t move it out of park or nothing those were the only two lights the was still able to start up just couldn’t move or use any buttons my keypad wasn’t working so that indicated that it was an electrical issue so I thought it was my battery even though the light wasn’t on for the battery I had my battery tested and the code came back and said I needed an alternator so I had my alternator tested and it works perfectly fine so then I checked the fuse box and it was burned up so that was my whole issue

TAKATA RECALL FOR ALMOST EIGHT MONTHS MY CAR HORN HAS NOT BEEN WORKING. I CANNOT INSPECT IT WITHOUT THE CAR HORN WORKING! NO ONE WILL TOUCH IT! IT'S LIKE MY CAR HAS A DISEASE AND NO ONE WANTS TO BE CORRUPTED OR SOMETHING. I SAW ON A TV PROGRAM CALLED FRAUD SQUAD ABOUT HOW WHEN A AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED SOME COMPONENTS IN AND AROUND THE AIRBAG ARE AFFECTED TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR TWO YEARS AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, THE INSPECTION/REGISTRATION STICKER CANNOT BE HAD! I FEEL VERY MUCH LET DOWN BY THE DEALERSHIP I ACQUIRED THIS CAR FROM. I GOT IT FROM FORT BEND TOYOTA IN ROSENBERG. IT'S GONNA TAKE ME MANY YEARS TO PAY THIS CAR PAID OFF AND ALREADY I MAY HAVE TO JURY RIG IT AND VOID EVERY WARRANTY EVER. THE CAR BATTERY KEEPS DYING ON THIS VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED AND CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER CLAIMS A GROUND CABLE ON THE UNDERSIDE IS CORRODED AND "FIXED" IT- BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. MY GUESS IS THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT. IT'S SCARY TO DRIVE A CAR THAT MIGHT LEAVE YOU STRANDED EVERY TIME YOU TURN IT OFF. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS.

HORN FAILED TO HONK WHEN NEEDED. IT DID NOT WORK WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY, IT DID NOT WORK ON A CITY STREET, IT DID NOT WORK PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE WIRE BECAME SEPARATED AND THERE WAS A VOID, THE WIRE COVER STAYED INTACT UNTIL I REMOVED THE CONNECTOR FROM THE HORN. I HAD TO CONNECT A NEW WIRE FROM THE EXISTING WIRE AND RECONNECT TO THE HORN. ALL IS FINE NOW.

ABOUT A WEEK AGO MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WOULDN'T ROLL UP. TODAY, I STOPPED MY CAR AT A REST STOP AND MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR STARTED SMOKING. THE WAFTED UP THROUGH THE WINDOWS AND THE WINDOW CONTROLLED BUTTON. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF BECAUSE IT WAS GETTING OUT OF CONTROL. I TURNED THE CAR OFF. WAITED. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY ENGINE CONTROL MODULE HAD SHORT-CIRCUITED AND REPLACED IT IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS, THE PART # BEING 8966102F54. THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE NOW. I HAVE A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA WITH 1,900 MILES ON IT, I PURCHASED THE VEH IN THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT MY RIGHT ARM WOULD COLLECT STATIC ELECTRICITY WHEN I WOULD PLACE IT ON TOP OF THE CENTER ARM REST/CONSOLE. AT FIRST I WOULD ONLY GET THE STATIC SPARK WHEN I TOUCHED THE METAL FRAME OF MY DOOR, THEN WHEN I ENTERED THE VEHICLE I WOULD ONCE AGAIN COLLECT THE STATIC ELECTRICITY ON MY RIGHT ARM FROM THE CENTER ARM REST/CONSOLE. I BEGAN TO JUST NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE STATIC BUILD UP I WOULD GET UNTIL YESTERDAY DECEMBER 29, 2010. I EXCITED MY VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO OPEN MY GAS COMPARTMENT DOOR, AS I TOUCHED THE COMPARTMENT DOOR, I RECEIVED THE STATIC SPARK. NOW I AM BECOMING CONCERN BECAUSE IT HAPPEN WHEN I TOUCHED THE COMPARTMENT DOOR HAD IT HAPPENED A FEW SECONDS LATER I COULD HAVE BEEN PUMPING GAS. CLEARLY THE TYPE OF MATERIAL USED ON THE CENTER ARM REST/CONSOLE IS CAUSING THIS STATIC BUILD UP ON MY ARM. THE MATERIAL USED IN THE CAMRY IS NOT CAUSING THIS. OUR 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) FREQUENTLY HESITATES AS IF ACCELERATION HAS CEASED AND THEN REACCELERATES AFTER IT APPEARS TO SWITCH GEARS. HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY AND FREEWAY SPEEDS, SEEMS TO INCREASE WITH USE OF A/C. AFTER TEST DRIVE, TOYOTA MECHANIC EXPLAINED THIS IS NORMAL AND DUE TO ELECTRICAL PARTS THAT HAVE REPLACED MECHANICAL PARTS. HE SAID CAR IS THINKING WHEN IT SWITCHES GEARS AND APPARENTLY STOPS ITS OTHER FUNCTION (I.E., MAINTAINING A STEADY SPEED) FOR A "NANOSECOND." THIS HAPPENS EVERY BLOCK OR SO IN HIGHWAY DRIVING, AND ALTHOUGH THE SPEED DOESN'T CHANGE, THE IMPULSE CHANGES ARE PHYSICALLY PERCEPTIBLE (WE CAN FEEL IT IN THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL, AS IF THE CAR IS JERKING). THE MECHANIC SAID THIS IS NORMAL IN NEWER CARS AS MOST HAVE GONE TO THE NEW TECHNOLOGY. THE MECHANIC'S EXPLANATION IS LOGICAL, BUT TOYOTA'S ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AS NORMAL IN NEWER MODELS OF CARS IS DISTURBING. WE DO NOT EXPERIENCE THIS IN OUR 2010 FORD FUSION. MY 2007 TOYOTA COROLLA HAD A FAILED ECM WHICH CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME AND STALL THE ENGINE. IN ADDITION, MY VEHICLE HAD HIGH RPM AND SHIFTING GEAR PROBLEMS AS WELL. THE FAILED ECM ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED BY A SPECIFIC CODE FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY WERE CERTAINLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM HOWEVER TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO RECALL THE ISSUE. I CALLED TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY INFORMED SINCE MY MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND THE WARRANTY WOULD ONLY COVER UP TO 80,000 MILES. I ENDED UP GETTING THE ECM REPLACED FOR ABOUT $800 AT CARMAX WHICH WAS $700 CHEAPER THAN WHAT TOYOTA WANTED TO CHARGE. I CALLED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS AGAIN TO COMPLAIN AND WAS LEFT WITH NO RESOLUTION. AFTER MY RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS WAS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM TO TOYOTA HOWEVER THEY FAILED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED TO MANY VEHICLES AS LOW AS 35000 MILES UNDER WARRANTY AND STILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR OUT OF WARRANTY OVER 80000 MILES. I FEEL IF THEY HAD A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, I WOULD HAVE NEVER HAD THESE ISSUES WITH MY CAR BEING STALLED AND HAVING TO REPLACE THE ECM. I HAVE LEASED A 2010 COROLLA IN JULY 2010 IT NOW HAS APPROX. 4200 MILES ON IT I CONTINUE TO HAVE UNEXPLAINED WHAT APPEARS TO BE ELECTRONIC OR COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. ONE INSTANCE WAS I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, BUT THE CAR DID NOT MOVE, BUT THE ENGINE REVVED WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. I THEN PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE AND THE CAR FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. I THEN DROVE APPROX 6 MILES ROUND TRIP AND RETURNED HOME, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AND MY HANDS WERE TOUCHING NOTHING I WAS READING SOMETHING THAT I HAD IN MY HAND AND THE HIGH BEAMS POPPED ON THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH, IT WAS FAIRLY LIGHT OUT SO I DON'T IMAGINE THAT IS A FEATURE, IT WAS A BIT OVERCAST AND CLOUDY. THE ODOMETER AT SOME POINT CHANGED FROM DISPLAYING MILES WITH 10THS AND ONLY DISPLAYS FULL NUMBER MILES, I THINK IT WAS AFTER I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE ALARM BUTTON ON THE REMOTE KEY THAT IT CHANGED BUT I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. I ALSO BELIEVE THE CAR'S COMPUTER WAS NOT PROPERLY SET UPON DELIVERY, OR THEY PUT IN A SOFTWARE UPGRADE WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE INVOICE SHOWS THEY DID A COMPUTER RESET. THE RECALL FIX HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED ON THIS VEHICLE, AND I AM NOW UNABLE TO GET A RESPONSE FROM TOYOTA, I HAVE BEEN WAITING 3 DAYS SINCE I REPORTED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE, AND TODAY I CAN NOT GET THROUGH TO TOYOTA OR THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO HIGH CALL VOLUME. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL FOLLOWED BY AN UNEXPECTED ENGINE STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE COMPUTER MODULE. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 50. UPDATED 01/05/10 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURRED.
