Paints are chipping off from the interior of the car to the exterior of the car . It's doors and trucks. I filed my 1st complaint with Toyota back in 2023. I filed another complaint on 6/25/2 5 and looks like I'm the only one with a blue Corolla that have paints chipping off from doors to trunk. I just want to make sure that Toyota is aware of this paint issue on their blue Corolla SE 4 door sedan. I know for sure Toyota had a paint issue with their white Toyota Corolla. I take my car to Toyota dealer for all my maintenance. Also, I am loyal Toyota customer. I've been purchasing their vehicle since 2005 with my 1st mini Van (Sienna). I just hope Toyota values their loyal customer.
2017 Toyota Corolla SE was bought new. Original Blizzard Pearl paint under recall program. Paint has peeled in "spots" all over car. Toyota fixed "spots" in August 2021, then again in June 2024. Since then, more spots have appeared. Toyota in Mt. Vernon, IL refuses to fix "spots" anymore since Nov 2024. Toyota has paint peeling recall program for 2009-2018 Toyota Corolla which was extended up to 14 years to address the peeling issue which was attributed to a manufacturing defect. The car should have been repainted from the beginning. Why would they think the paint would stop peeling after fixing spots? I have contacted Toyota Customer Experience Center many times. They said they go by what NHTSA tells them. They gave me your number and I was instructed to fill this form out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a pic of peeling above license plate. There are more pics of peeling which I can provide if need be. Also, there is a pic of the Toyota paint peeling recall program. Mileage is 67,000. Thank you for your time.
I was t-boned by a driver on 5/16/2023. Since this occurred, my vehicle has been repaired. However I have a shake and hoovering noise coming from the front of the vehicle. It has been aligned, tires have been rotated, and suspension has been checked. My mechanic can find no fault. However he has stated that he can feel the shake and can hear the noise. He also says it pulls to the left really hard when accelerating. These issues were not present before my accident. Also my seatbelts on my driver and passenger side were replaced shortly after my accident. I felt like this wasn't checked by the body shop.
The paint is chipping from the car
Twice within one month my Corolla experienced Sudden Unintended Acceleration. The first time I had just entered the parking lot of my local Star Market. I stopped for a man in the crosswalk and was just about to ease off the break when I saw a woman approaching the crosswalk so I stayed on my break. Suddenty the car revved up and went forward. I think it was so loud the woman heard it and stopped. My car returned to normal operation within maybe five seconds and as I drove by the woman, I yelled there was something wrong. Went home and scheduled an appointment with Toyota. It took a few days for them to check my car. I think this type of issue brings in the next level up of repair. I was told they went over everything and could find nothing wrong. My car was safe to drive. I drove it for exactly one month and it did the same thing. This time I was inching my way into a parking space that was up against a wall. Nowhere near the gas. I was maybe a couple of feet from the wall when the car accelerated again. The engine really revved up again and I went into the wall. The car was drivable, and I got it right back to Toyota. It is still sitting there pending investigation. I am waiting to hear from someone from their liability department. I'm not sure what will happen, but I know I will not drive that car again. My biggest concern is that Toyota will claim I'm elderly and hit the gas, not the brake. That is not what happened.

I RECIEVED A LETTER ABOUT "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" FROM TOYOTA COMPANY. IT SAYS "INCOMPLETE OR NONDEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS MAY OCCUR." I TOOK MY CAR TO TOYOTA OF ORLANDO DEALER TO HAVE NEW PARTS REPLACED, BUT THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THOSE PARTS TO REPLACE FOR MY CAR. I ASKED THEM WHEN THEY HAVE NEW PARTS TO FIX MY CAR. THEY SAID THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN, JUST GO HOME AND WAIT. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY EVERY TIME I DRIVE TO WORK OR DO ERRANDS. THIS IS AN URGENT SAFETY RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T HAVE NEW PARTS READY TO FIX CUSTOMERS' CAR. HOW LONG WILL I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED?
I WAS DRIVING ALONG A SUBURBAN STREET WITH LITTLE TRAFFIC IN NICE WEATHER WHEN I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A LIKE A LOUD EXPLOSION. I THOUGHT I GOT SHOT BY A GUN BUT I DIDN'T FEEL ANY PAIN SO I THOUGHT MY CAR WAS SHOT. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE TO CHECK THE DAMAGE, I WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. LATER ON, MY HUSBAND SAW THE SUNROOF SHATTERED IN OUR GARAGE, SOMETHING I COULD NOT SEE BECAUSE OF MY HEIGHT.
PERSONALLY I AM A RATHER TALL PERSON. THE CAR WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR TALL PEOPLE. WHILE I WAS TRAVELING AT 65 MPH I WENT TO REST MY LEFT ANKLE TO A CLOSER SPOT ALONG THE DOOR AND SEAT. THE GAS LOCK AND TRUNK LEVER ARE IN THE SAME PLACE MY HEAL WAS, AND THE TRUNK OPENED WHILE GOING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THEY DIDN'T DESIGN THE CAR TO KEEP THE GAS LID OR TRUNK CLOSED IF ACCIDENTALLY TRIGGERED WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. MY SECOND ISSUE WITH THE CAR IS THAT IT HAS ISSUES GOING INTO PARK. THE CAR ROLLS JUST A LITTLE AND THE SHIFTER CLICKS IN A DELAYED REACTION ONCE PLACED IN PARK.
WHEN YOU PUSH THE SPORTS BUTTON THAT GIVES IT SPEED YOU DRIVE ABOUT 5 MILES AND THE CAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLADH. THEN THE CAR WILL NOT DRIVE OVER 30MPH. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO FRED HESS DEALER TWICE AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. BUT IT WILL STILL DO IT. SO I STOPPED USING IT. I ONLY HAVE 20K MILES ON THE CAR. SO IT'S DANGEROUS IF YOUR ON THE FREEWAY.
THE HEATER SYSTEM THAT HAS AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL EVERY TIME THAT YOU START THE CAR THE HEATER SYSTEM WILL BRING IN THE OUTSIDE COLD AIR INSTEAD OF RECIRCULATED AIR NOW MY WIFE DOES NOT LIKE THIS ONE BIT I TOOK THE WIFES CAR IN FOR SERVICE AT BRENT BROWN TOYOTA ON 01-17-2018 I TOLD THE SERVICE DEPT. ABOUT THE HEATER SYSTEM PROBLEM AND I FELT THAT I WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND AND I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THATS THE WAY IS IS!!!! ANY TIME YOU MAKE ANY HEATER CHANGES THE HEATER SYSTEM CAN BE ON RECIRCULATED AIR AND WILL CHANGE OVER ON ITS OWN TO THE COLD OUTSIDE AIR. WHILE DRIVING ANY WHERE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.
PURCHASED CAR ON 04/30/17 AND SIX DAYS LATER, GOT A MALFUNCTION WARNING MESSAGE FOR THE FRONT CAMERA DURING CAR START UP. CAMERA IS PART OF THE NEW STANDARD SAFETY SENSE PACKAGE. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO CORRECT ISSUE AND ORDERED A NEW CAMERA. INDICATED THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY PREVIOUS KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE CAMERA. DEALER TOOK LONGER THAN USUAL SINCE THEY HAVE NEVER REPLACED A CAMERA BEFORE AND HAD NO CLUE HOW TO RECALIBRATE.
