At approximately 66,200 miles, the slave cylinder on the clutch started failing. It will be dropped off at the dealership tomorrow afternoon for repair, hopefully driven under its own power. The clutch feels spongy and friction point is unusual. This puts others’ safety at risk because the clutch could fail, causing the car to lurch forward from being stopped, and puts my safety at risk because the car could break down at any time when it finally completely fails. There are no warning lamps, just a clutch prematurely failing. This is a very common problem with the manual transmissions in this model. I purchased a Toyota for reliability, and this part should not fail for several hundred thousand miles, if ever. There needs to be a recall on these cars.
I am writing to express my concern regarding the quality of the paint on my 2019 Toyota Corolla. The paint has been peeling for the past two years, and the issue has progressively worsened. Despite taking good care of the vehicle, the paint is deteriorating at an unusual rate for a car of this age. I believe this may be a defect related to the original paint quality, and I would appreciate it if you could inspect the vehicle in this class and advise whether this could be covered under Toyota warranty or any goodwill repair program. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The Coolant Bypass Valve needs to be replaced prematurely. This issue seems to be fairly commonplace among Toyota’s cars. My car only has 62,990 on the odo.
Engine coolant bypass valve failed
Coolant valve is faulty.
CVT TRANSMISSION is hesitating after first gear, going over 40mph and going up hills. I was told by Toyota that it would cost $8,200 to fix/REPLACE. The car has 125,000 miles on it. THAT Shouldn't happen. Since the Corolla Hatchbacks were recalled that year, why weren't ALL of the corollas recalled. Reading on-line, I see I am not alone. This is wrong. And I still have about $2K owed on it.
Clutch failed suddenly while driving (has a manual transmission), nearly causing an accident. there was no waring. no warning lights. car had been serviced 2 weeks earlier. I returned it to dealer and they could not tell me why it failed. It will require total replacement of system.
Car drops to 500 RPM when idle. (Less than 28,000 miles)
I have called Bondy's Toyota of Enterprise, Enterprise, Alabama on and about February 17, 2021, also, on or about September 2, 2021, called Bondy's Toyota of Enterprise spoke to the service department both times VIN gave and both times denied a recall. Also, my brother James Wright took the vehicle to Bondy's and was told no recall for the airbags or fuel pump by the service department. On or about March 6, 2021, approximately 6:30 AM hit a deer on Coffee County Road 377, Elba, Alabama. had damage to the front windshield, right passenger side. A hole was found in the trunk where the trunk is separating from the body. Progressive insurance and Toyota are both refusing to fix this problem They have told me not to put anything in the trunk. Also Progressive is refusing to pay for the right side of the car. This has been going on with Progressive since March. the car had been taken to Wiregrass Collision Center 3 times and each time the center said Progressive never came and looked at the vehicle. Progressive was trying to force me use a auto repair shop in Troy, Alabama.
NO ANDROID AUTO SUPPORT ON US MODELS EVEN THO EUROPE MODELS GET THE UPDATE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE DRIVER BASICALLY HAS TO USE THE PHONE TO USE MAPS OR CALLS
BECAUSE TOYOTA WILL NOT ENABLE ENTUNE 3.0 TO WORK WITH GOOGLE MAPS I FEEL THAT THEY ARE DELIBERATELY ENDANGERING MY SAFETY. I NOW HAVE TO USE MY PHONE TO LOOK UP ADDRESSES INSTEAD OF A HANDS-FREE OPTION. THEIR SCOUT GPS MAPS IS FREQUENTLY WRONG AND DOES NOT PROVIDE THE NAVIGATION I NEED ON A DAILY USE BASIS.
I STARTED MY CAR AND PUT IT IN REVERSE, AS I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY THE CAR SEIZED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET I WAS BACKING ONTO AND I COULD NOT GET IT TO MOVE NO MATTER WHAT I DID. A COUPLE OF DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON, I WASN'T ABLE TO SHIFT OR GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ONE OF THE LIGHTS THAT CAME ON HAD AN EXCLAMATION POINT. MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE EITHER. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT, IT RAN AFTER THAT. I HAVE SINCE BEEN VERY WARY ABOUT DRIVING BECAUSE I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO BE DRIVING AND IT'LL JUST STOP WORKING AGAIN.
I DROVE MY CAR TO GET GAS ON NOVEMBER 24, 2019. AFTER I GOT FULL TANK OF GAS, I CANNOT START THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE WOULD MAKE A NOICE LIKE COUGHING, AND WHOLE CAR WOULD SHAKE, ALL THE ELECTRIC (LIGHTS, METER, MUSIC) WOULD BE ON, BUT THE ENGINE WOULD GO BACK TO 'DEAD'. ON THE DISPLAY SCREEN, IT WOULD SHOW THE 'BATTERY' WARNING ICON. I IMMEDIATELY TRIED JUMPSTART, BUT I STILL CANNOT START MY VEHICLE SO IT'S NOT SIMPLY A BATTERIES PROBLEM. (ACTUALLY, I THINK THE BATTERY ITSELF HAS NO PROBLEM.) THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT IN SERVICE ON SUNDAY, SO I HAVE TO PAID TO GET MY CAR TOWED AT THE NIGHT- DROP. BEFORE THE GUY TOWED MY VEHICLE AWAY, HE TRIED TO START MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND IT CANNOT BE START. ON MONDAY MORNING THE DEALERSHIP EXAMINE IN THE VEHICLE BUT THEY CLAIM THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. ALL THE TEST COME CLEAN AND THEY WANTED ME TO COME AND TAKE MY VEHICLE. BUT WHEN THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABOUT TO GET MY CAR, HE HIMSELF CANNOT START A VEHICLE AGAIN OR IT TAKES A LONG TIME FOR THE VEHICLE TO START. SO THEY KEEP THE CAR THREE MORE DAYS TO TEST BUT TODAY THEY CALLED ME, AND STILL TELLING ME THE VEHICLE HAS NO PROBLEM. THE CAR CLEARLY HAS SOME PROBLEM! AND ACTUALLY THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT IT HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME HAPPENED WHEN I PARKED MY CAR AT MY OFFICE BUILDINGS PARKING LOT, AND AT NIGHT AFTER WORK I CANNOT START THE ENGINE. SAME PROBLEM. THAT TIME I WAIT FOR TWO MINUTES AND I CAN START THE CAR BACK ON AGAIN. BUT THE SAME PROBLEM DID EXIST BEFORE, AND IT HAS A RECURRING PROBLEM. I'M NOW VERY WORRIED ABOUT MY CAR, I FEAR THAT THE SAME PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN, AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT.
THE OWNER'S MANUAL SHOWS A LOCATION FOR LIFTING THE VEHICLE IN THE FRONT USING A FLOOR JACK (PAGE 427). THIS LOCATION IS NOT PRESENT ON MY VEHICLE AND THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. THIS COULD LEAD TO SOMEONE USING ANOTHER IMPROPER LOCATION TO LIFT THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD CAUSE AN INJURY TO A PERSON IF THE VEHICLE SLIPS OFF THE JACK OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MISSING PART IS ALSO REFERENCED ON PAGE 475 AS A LOCATION TO TOW THE VEHICLE BY. AGAIN, SINCE THIS LOCATION IS MISSING, SOMEONE COULD TOW THE VEHICLE BY A SPOT NOT DESIGN TO BE TOWED BY. THIS COULD ALSO RESULT IN INJURY TO A PERSON OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.
