REAR LEAF SPRING RECALLS. BEEN TWO MONTHS WAITING FOR PARTS TO ARRIVE AT LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER. ORDER WAS PLACED ON 7/13/16. WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA REP, THAT REP FROM LOCAL DEALER SAID IT WOULD TAKE A FEW MORE MONTHS FOR PARTS TO COME IN. FEELS UNSAFE DRIVING VEHICLE.

ON 3/14/2013 I NOTICED A NOISE THAT SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR SUSPENSION OF MY VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC, WHO UPON INSPECTION NOTED THAT BOTH REAR LEAF SPRINGS WERE BROKEN.(SEE DOCUMENT) I THEN HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED ON 3/22/2013. ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2014 THE NHTSA ANNOUNCED THE RECALL OF MY VEHICLE FOR THE LEAF SPRINGS(RECALL ID 14V604) SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET REIMBURSED BY TOYOTA FOR THE REPAIRS THAT I HAD COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY HAVE TOLD ME I NEEDED TO SEND MORE DOCUMENTATION. I'VE ATTACHED THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS I HAVE SENT THEM, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL INVOICE FOR DIAGNOSIS, THE REPAIR AND A LETTER FROM MY MECHANIC ON LETTERHEAD SUPPORTING THOSE DOCUMENTS. AT ONE POINT IN DECEMBER 2015, THEY TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE I WAS SPEAKING WITH, ACTUALLY CALLED THE MECHANIC TO GET VERBAL SUPPORT OF THESE DOCUMENTS. IN DECEMBER, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TOYOTA STATING THAT THE REMEDY WOULD BE PROVIDED IN EARLY 2016. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT ONCE THE REMEDY WAS PROVIDED I COULD THEN RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIR. YESTERDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2016, I WAS CHECKING THE STATUS OF THE RECALL ON MY TRUCK ON TOYOTA.COM AND IT STATED THAT "THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME" I CONTACTED TOYOTA AGAIN AND THEY STATED THAT I DID NOT SEND THE PROPER PAPERWORK AND THAT I HAD TO PROVE MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE RECALL. I'VE ATTACHED THE REPAIR ORDER AND LETTER FROM MY MECHANIC AS WELL AS A COPY OF THE RECALL NOTIFICATION AND A LOOK-UP FROM THE TOYOTA SITE THAT SHOWS MY VEHICLE IS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I AM CONTACTING YOU, SIMPLY BECAUSE TOYOTA IS TRYING TO AVOID REIMBURSING ME FOR THIS RECALL AND ACTUALLY SEEMS TO HAVE TAKEN ME OFF OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL STATUS. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED. FRACTURED SPRINGS MAY HIT FUEL TANK REPEATEDLY AND CAUSE EXPLOSION OR FIRE. TOYOTA REFUSES TO FIX .....UNTIL...THEY CAN FIND A REMEDY TO STOP IT FROM REOCCURING.

I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR FRAME RUST WHICH I RESPONDED TO ON JULY 11, 2014. THEY TREATED MY TRUCK FRAME WITH A CHEMICAL AND UNDER COATING SAYING THERE WAS NO RUST THROUGH AND MY FRAME WOULD NOT BE REPLACED. SIX MONTHS LATER I HAVE RUST THROUGH ON THE FRAME AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANY FURTHER REPAIRS ON IT. I FEEL THEY JUST COVERED UP THE RUST PROBLEM SO I WOULDN'T SEE IT AND NOW ITS A PROBLEM. NH STATE INSPECTION FAILED MY 2006 TACOMA DUE TO HOLES IN THE FRAME I CONTACTED TOYOTA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME ITS MY PROBLEM NOT THEIRS SINCE THE SPRAYED THE FRAME PREVIOUSLY. WELL THE SPRAY DID NOT WORK AND THE FRAME STILL ROTTED SO WHY ARE THEY NOT BEING FORCE TO FIX THE FAULTY FRAME THAT THEY KNEW WAS A PROBLEM SINCE THEY HAVE HAD THIS COME UP IN THE PAST. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY YOUR AGENTS.
REPLACED REAR LEAF SPRING AS IT WAS BROKEN AND STICKING OUT SIDE OF RETAINER. I PAID FOR THIS. RECEIVED A TOYOTA RECALL OF DEFECTIVE REAR SPRING NOTICE ON AUGUST 2014. HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE FOR SPRING REPLACEMENT. ANOTHER SPRING PROBLEM WITH RETAINER CLIP BROKEN IN 2015. DURAND TOYOTA SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLACE SPRINGS UNTIL I RECEIVED SECOND NOTICE BUT WOULD HAVE TO WELD SPRING IN PLACE UNTI SECOND NOTICE IS RECEIVED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I REQUEST IT BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY BY TOYOTA
