FRONT AIR BAG RECALL CANNOT BE FIXED. WHEN I GO TO THE TOYOTA RECALL SITE THEY SAY THERE IS NO FIX YET FOR THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.

MY TOYOTA TUNDRA IS PART OF THE AIR BAG RECALL. MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE THE PART AND MAY NOT HAVE IT FOR 10 DAYS. IN THE INTERN, THEY HAVE REMOVED MY PASSENGER AIRBAG AND NOW NO ONE CAN RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN COMPLETED. I HAVE A FAMILY OF 5 SO NOW I CAN ONLY RIDE 3 PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE. IT HAS BECOME A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. I REQUESTED A RENTAL FROM MY DEALERSHIP BUT THEY DECLINED. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED FACIAL LACERATIONS, SEVERE BRUISING AND A LOSS OF HEARING AS A RESULT OF THE ERRONEOUS AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR TREATMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V133000 (AIR BAGS) BUT HAD NOT CONFIRMED IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHEMICAL USED TO CLEAN THE AIR BAG COVER CAUSED THE PLASTIC COVERING TO BECOME THIN AND THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A DEFECT IN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
