I HAVE ABOUT 14, 000 MILES ON THE CAR AND IT BURNS THROUGH ENGINE OIL VERY QUICKLY. SOMETIMES I CAN EVEN SMELL THE BURNING OIL. TWICE THE ADD OIL LIGHT HAS COME ONE. IT SEEMS THAT A CAR THIS NEW SHOULDN'T BURN OIL LIKE THIS. DEALER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL. COULD IT BE THAT THE OIL IS TOO THIN? I HAVE NO IDEA, BUT FRUSTRATING.
THE VEHICLE HAS A HIGH PITCHED WHINE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA UNDER ACCELERATION. DEALER CAN NOT FIND ISSUE AND FIX. VW HAS SENT ENGINEER OUT TWICE SO FAR.
I HAVE HAD A VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 2019 FOR 3 MONTHS AND I HAVE NOTICED A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. IT STARTS THE NOISE AT 30-40MPH AT 1000-3000RPMS, IT'S LOUDER IN ECO MODE BUT CAN STILL BE HEARD IN DRIVE MODE VARY FAINTLY BUT STILL NOTICEABLE. I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND OUT A LOT OF PEOPLE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT IT SO I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, TOLD THEM ABOUT THE NOISE, 9 HOURS LATER I RECEIVE A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO TELL ME IT WAS NORMAL. THAT THE NOISE WAS PART OF THE TURBO THEY CALLED IT 'TURBOCHARGED'. I'M NO SCIENTIST BUT I KNOW WHAT A TURBO SOUNDS LIKE AND THEY DON'T SOUND LIKE THAT. I JUST WANT THIS PROBLEM FIXED OR A NEW CAR BECAUSE I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT GOING TO CAUSE BIGGER PROBLEM THAT MIGHT NOT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.
ENGINE BURNING THROUGH OVER A QUART OF OIL BEFORE 10K OIL CHANGES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT 1,500 RPMS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROWN VOLKSWAGEN OF LAWRENCE (LOCATED AT 3400 IOWA ST, LAWRENCE, KS 66046, (785) 838-7750), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
VEHICLE WILL STALL AT TIMES WHEN COMING TO COMPLETE STOP, OR WHEN COASTING IN NEUTRAL, WITH CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED. VW DEALER RESET ECU ADAPTATIONS. ISSUE STILL REMAINS.
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE COMING TO A STOP. THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES AND I'VE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE TWO WEEKS. THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE ENTIRE TIME AND THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE MANUALLY STARTED AGAIN.
CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS STALLS. I'VE HAD THE CAR 6 DAYS AND IT'S DONE IT FOUR TIMES. THREE WHEN STOPPED OR GOING 5MPH OR LESS ON HIGHWAYY OFF RAMPS. ONCE WHEN GOING ABOUT 20MPH IN TRAFFIC. THE CAR IS A MANUAL AND ALL TIMES THE CLUTCH WAS FULLY DEPRESSED.
ON 10/18//19 I PURCHASED A VOLKSWAGEN JETTA S. THE NEXT DAY I STARTED HEARING A GRINDING NOISE AT ACCELERATION SPEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY 20-35 MPH. IN 10/21/2019 I TOOK THE JETTA TO ROYAL AUTOMOTIVE IN BIRMINGHAM AL. AND AFTER INSPECTING THE CAR THE MECHANIC (JAMEY MCELROY) INFORMED ME THIS WAS A NORMAL SOUND AND WAS RELATED TO THE AIR INTAKE. THE SCOPE OF WORK SAID THEY DID NOT HEAR THE NOISE AND I MADE THEM CHANGE THE WORDING AS JAMEY SAID THEY DID HEAR THE NOISE. I FELT THEY WERE COVERING UP THE TRUTH BY MAKING THE PAPERWORK SAY THE NOISE DIDN'T EXIST. PLEASE HOLD VOLKSWAGEN ACCOUNTABLE AND MAKE THEM FIX THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER JETTA OWNERS COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND VOLKSWAGEN IS TURNING A BLIND EYE TO ANY REPAIRS. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!
ON 9/26/2019 I WAS DRIVING MY 2019 JETTA SE WITH 1,187.8 MILES ON MAIN STREET IN SANTA ANA AROUND 5:50 PM. I WAS ON THE FAR LEFT LANE AT A FULL STOP AND PROCEEDED AT LOW SPEEDS ONTO THE LEFT-TURNING LANE. AS I CONTINUED TO PULL UP ONTO THE LEFT-TURNING A LANE A VERY LOUD METALLIC RATTLING/SCRAPING NOISE WAS HEARD THROUGHOUT THE CABIN COMING FROM I SUSPECT THE TRANSMISSION. I EVEN WAS ABLE TO FEEL THE RATTLING FROM THE BRAKE PEDDLE AS I STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE PEDDLE. I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE IF ANY OTHER DRIVERS NOTICED AS IT WAS VERY LOUD. I MADE AN EFFORT TO CHECK ON THE ROAD TO CONFIRM THAT THERE WAS NO METALLIC DEBRIS THAT I MAY HAVE RUN OVER. NONE WAS FOUND. I ALSO CHECKED UNDER MY CAR TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS UNDER THE ENGINE AND CAN CONFIRM NOTHING WAS FOUND. THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE, WHEN THE CAR WOULD HIT BETWEEN 1300-1500 RPMS OR 25-35 MPH, A VERY DISTINCT SCRAPING NOISE CAN BE HEARD FROM THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS HAS NOT GONE AWAY AND CONTINUES TO OMIT THAT SAME DISTINCT SOUND EVERY TIME I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND GOING FROM 25-35 MPH. IT IS HEARD EVEN CLEARER WHILE ON ECO MODE.
VEHICLE STALLS WHEN CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED, PLACED BACK INTO NEUTRAL, WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE STALLING HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR 15-30 MINUTES. STALL OCCURS WHIL ROLLING TO A STOP
2019 JETTA GLI 6MT. CAR WILL STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN FIRST, SECOND, AND NEUTRAL. WHEN IN NEUTRAL, CLUTCH CAN BE EITHER IN OR OUT TO REPLICATE ISSUE. HAS HAPPENED WHEN COASTING TO A STOP AT <10 MPH, AS WELL AS WHEN AT A STOP. TYPICALLY TAKES 2-5 SECONDS FOR CAR TO SHUT DOWN. CAR CURRENTLY HAS ~600 MILES ON IT, HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I GOT THE CAR DELIVERED (TOOK DELIVERY AT 300 MILES DUE TO DEALERSHIP DELIVERING CAR TO MY HOUSE).
THE CAR HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESED TO THE FLOOR AND IN NEUTRAL OR SHIFTING FROM SECOND OR THIRD TO NEUTRAL WHILE COMING TO A STOP.
MY BRAND NEW 2019 GLI KEEPS STALLING WHEN APPROACHING STOP OR LIGHT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CLUTCH IS OUT AND ENGINE IN NEUTRAL.
DRIVING A 6 SPEED M/T. WITHOUT AUTO START/STOP, TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME WAS SLOWING TO A STOP. SLOWING DOWN, I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL TO COME TO A STOP. WHEN STOPPED, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED. HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE 3 DAYS I'VE OWNED.
ENGINE STALLING ON NEW VEHICLE. TWO EVENTS OCCURRED IN ONE NIGHT, 7/23/2019, WITH ABOUT 790 AND 801 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. IN BOTH CASES, THE CLUTCH WAS DISENGAGED WHILE BRAKING AND SLOWING TO APPROACH A TURN. THE ENGINE WAS UNDER NO LOAD AND SHOULD HAVE RETURNED TO IDLE WHEN I DISENGAGED THE CLUTCH. ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND HAD TO BE RE-STARTED VIA THE STARTER BUTTON. MY VEHICLE IS A 2019 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA GLI, 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND 2.0 LITER TURBO ENGINE.
VEHICLE DIES AT STOP LIGHT WHILE IDLING AND HAS TO BE RESTARTED MANUALLY.
BRAND NEW 11 DAYS OLD 2019 JETTA GLI MANUAL ENGINE SHUT DOWN THREE TIMES WHILE IN TRAFFIC. CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL, STARTED TO SHUDDER AND SHUT DOWN AND HAD TO RESTART. THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND THE CAR WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL DESCENDING DOWN A HILL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS ALSO HAPPEN AT A STOP LIGHT AND STOP SIGN. ALL THREE INCIDENTS HAPPEN IN THE SAME DAY. VERY CONCERNED WITH MY FAMILIES SAFETY. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH VW.
CAR CONSTISTENTLY STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. WILL STALL EVEN IN NEUTRAL WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED. WILL DRIVE FINE SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES IT WILL STALL 15+ TIMES IN A SINGLE TRIP. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN TRYING TO TURN IN AN INTERSECTION MULTIPLE TIMES NOW. STARTED AROUND 1,200 MILES ON THE CAR AND HAPPENS FREQUENTLY.
MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION-EQUIPPED 2019 JETTA GLI (2.0T) STALLS AT SLOW SPEEDS AND AT STOP LIGHTS DESPITE THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY ENGAGED ("TO THE FLOOR") OR THE VEHICLE COASTING IN NEUTRAL. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR THREE DAYS AND IN TWO OF THOSE DAYS, THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH CITY STREETS AND AT STOP LIGHTS. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE HAPPEN AT APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, WITH THE SECOND AT AROUND 120 MILES. THE VEHICLE SHOWED NO PREEMPTIVE SIGNS OF A STALL, AND NECESSITATED A FULL RE-IGNTIION OF THE ENGINE IN ORDER TO PROCEED OUT OF TRAFFIC. A QUICK SEARCH OF "2019 JETTA GLI/GTI STALLING ISSUE" RETURNS A LARGE LIST OF IDENTICAL OCCURRENCES WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS IN 2019-BUILT ENGINES/DRIVETRAINS.
ENGINE ON MANUAL TRANSMISSION REPEATEDLY SHUTS OFF WHEN COMING TO STOP WITH CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED. THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE AUTO-SHUTOFF FEATURE IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, BUT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH MANUAL. CAR MUST THEN BE RESTARTED WITH PUSH BUTTON START. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN IN TRAFFIC.
I PURCHASED A 2019 VW JETTA SE AUTOMATIC WITH 38 MILES ON OCTOBER 11, 2019 ONE MONTH LATER AS I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY TO WORKING HEARD AND FELT A GRINDING, SOUNDING LIKE IT CARNE FROM THE ENGINE. I DIDN'T WANT TO JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS SO I CONTINUED DRIVING BUT IT SOUNDS A BIT LOUDER SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME 4 DAYS LATER THE SOUND IS NORMAL. I'M NOT COMFORTABLE THOUGH. I READ UP ON THIS AND THERE'S A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR SIMILAR ISSUE. NOW I'M AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY. I TRADED IN MY CHEVY TAHOE AND THAT WAS A GREAT VEHICLE. I HAVE A WARRANTY AND I JUST WANT IT FIXED. FEELS LIKE I'M GETTING THE BRUSH OFF.
2019 VW GLI MANUAL TRANSMISSION STALLS UNPREDICTABLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND/OR THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED INFREQUENTLY, BUT UNPREDICTABLY. SO FAR IT HAS ONLY RESULTED IN HORN BLOWING FROM THE CAR BEHIND, BUT IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN WHEN TURNING IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC IT WOULD BE VERY BAD. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MANUAL FOR 44 YEARS - IT IS NOT OPERATOR ERROR. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AS ODI DP 19-003. STARTED AT VERY LOW MILES, HAPPENED MOST RECENTLY AT ABOUT 2,500 MILES.
MY CAR IS 2 WEEKS OLD WITH 400 MILES ON THE CAR. SINCE THE ODOMETER HAD APROX 100 MILES ON IT THE CAR HAS BEEN HAVING A ISSUE WITH STALLING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS IT HAS STALLED APROX 26 TIMES WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THE CAR STALLED 3 TIMES IN A 15 MILE DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC. THE CAR IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE AS TO WHEN IT WILL DECIDE TO STALL BUT BECOMES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN COMMUTING ON THE FREEWAY AND IT DECIDES TO STALL. THE CAR IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DOES NOT HAVE THE AUTO START STOP FUNCTION BUT STALLS OUT WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I HAVE INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE MY FAMILY OR ANYONE RIDE IN AS YOU DO NOT KNOW IF IT WILL FAIL AND PUT YOU AT RISK OF BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR AND SHOULD NOT HAVE STALLING OR ENGINE FAILURES AT ANY POINT LET ALONE HAVING OVER 20 IN A 2 WEEK PERIOD. THE CAR IS AT VW BEING EVALUATED BUT I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE OR SAFE KNOWING THIS SITUATION IS HAPPENING.
THIS IS A BRAND NEW MANUAL TRANSMISSION JETTA GLI WITH ONLY 160 MILES. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 16 MINUTES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON THE EXPRESSWAY, THE CAR QUIETLY STALLED OUT WHILE COMING TO A STOP ON AN EXIT RAMP. I RESTARTED THE CAR, DROVE TO A STOPLIGHT ABOUT A MINUTE AWAY AND AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT THAT LIGHT THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN AND DRIVE OFF. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF THE CAR WAS TO STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN OR AT HIGH SPEED ON AN EXPRESSWAY.
