TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 750LI. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE DRASTICALLY SLOWED DOWN AND THE "DRIVE MODERATELY, NOW IN SAFETY MODE" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, BUT IT SHIFTED INTO PARK INSTEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEWELL CADILLAC OF GRAPEVINE (1001 E STATE HWY 114, GRAPEVINE, TX 76051) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT MODE WAS ENGAGED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY IT UNEXPECTEDLY WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE AND RESTART THE CAR. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN. I HAD TO TURN ON THE CAUTION LIGHTS AND RESTART THE CAR. AS I MADE IT TO MY DRIVEWAY IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN AS I WAS TURNING. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT PINPOINT TO CAUSE BUT SPECULATE UNMETERED AIR AS A POTENTIAL CAUSE. READING ABOUT THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM I CAME ACROSS A RECALL DESCRIBING MY EXACT PROBLEM BUT FOR 2006 5 SERIES. MY CAR IS A 2007 7 SERIES. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER IS 16V919000. THE RECALL DESCRIBES A PROBLEM IDENTICAL TO MINE. UNFORTUNATELY I HAD TO SPEND $187 TO FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS NO DEFINITIVE SOLUTION.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS INTO PARK AT A LIGHT.COUNTY STREET.DID IT TO THREE DRIVERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 750LI. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE TRANSMISSION FAULT DRIVE MODERATELY ERROR MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND AT FIRST, AND THEN WHEN IT DOES FINALLY ACCELERATE IT SWITCHES GEARS SO HARD THE WHOLE CAR LUNGES FORWARD, I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES. EACH TIME THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO DO SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THIS NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE CAR STILL CONTINUES TO DO THIS. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS AT 55,000 MILES, MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 65,000 MILES. IT IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IF YOU PRESS THE PEDAL TO TURN, THERE IS SUCH A DELAY THAT IT MAY NOT BE SAFE TO TURN ANYMORE BUT THE CAR THEN ACCELERATES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A SECOND OCCASION, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V502000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN) BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,633.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 760LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED IN DRIVE, THE GEAR INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE GEAR SLIPPED OUT OF PARK AND ERRONEOUSLY INTO REVERSE. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
A HUGE BANG/CLUNK WHICH FEELS LIKE ANOTHER CAR REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE. VERY FREIGHTING THAT CAUSES DRIVER PANIC! THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIME OVER THE PAST YEARS. DEALER REPORTS NOTHING CAN BE FOUND WRONG. *TR
I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHIFTED THE VEHICLE IN "PARK" AND SAW THE "P" LIGHT COME ON THE DASH, AND PROCEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE I WAS ONLY RETRIEVING MY MAIL FROM THE MAILBOX, I DID NOT TURN THE CAR OFF OR PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON. AS I EXITED THE CAR, AND TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD EVEN THOUGHT THE "P" WAS LIT ON THE DASH. I IMMEDIATELY GRABBED ONTO THE DOOR AND JUMPED BACK IN THE CAR, AS IT ALMOST HIT ME FROM BEHIND AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND ALL THE WHILE, THE SHIFT INDICATOR WAS LIT IN THE "P" FOR PARK POSITION. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD A FEW INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AND THE DASH INDICATOR LIGHT READS "TRANSMISSION FAULT DRIVE MODERATELY". IT APPEARS AND THEN GOES AWAY AND DOES NOT RE-APPEAR.
