Rear Deferential Housing Cracked
I've only had the car for under a month and twice this has happened. When I came to a stop, the start/stop system was activated (engine shuts off) and I put the car in P (parked). Then when I placed it into reverse and released the brake which started the engine, there was a huge jolt/jerk/buck. This happened twice and as far as I know this these are the only times I've committed this specific sequence of events.

The contact depressed on the brake pedal very hard for the vehicle to stop. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times afterward. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the cogwheel in the transmission had failed and the transmission failed to lock in place while parked. The dealer informed the contact that there was no fix for the failure. The contact was informed that the repair part was the same part that was already installed in the vehicle and could cause another failure in the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired.
