THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX LS ALL THE GAUGES STOP WORKING THEN I'LL START WORKING AND YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR CAR IS OVERHEATING YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE OR HOW FAST YOU'RE GOING THE ODOMETER STUCK AT 1:20 SOME DAYS THAT'LL WORK SOME DAYS IT DON'T AND I BELIEVE THEY HAD A RECALL ON THIS BUT ONLY SOME CARS WERE AFFECTED WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED ALL OF THEM AND REPLACE THE STEPPER MOTORS ON ALL 2007 EQUINOXES NOT JUST SOME I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS NOW FOR TOO LONG AS THEY SAID IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE TO GET IT REPAIRED WELL WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS I SEEN ONLINE I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED IT AND FIXED ALL OF THEM THERE STILL A LOT OF 07 ON THE ROAD AND IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE THE CAR CUZ SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW FAST SHE'S GOING AND I'M ABOUT TO THAT POINT NOW I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I GOT SOMETIMES I DON'T KNOW IF THE CAR IS HOT OR IF I'M GOING TO RUN OUT OF GAS I DO USE THE TRIP FUNCTION ON EVERY TANK OF GAS I HAVE TO MY I REALLY THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKING A LOOK AT AN ALL O SEVENS RECALLS ON THE STEPPER MOTORS REPLACED OR SOMEBODY GETS KILLED SOMEBODY MAY PANIC THINK THEY'RE GOING 120 OR THINK THAT THEIR CARS GOING TO STOP AND THEY COULD GET INTO SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE GAUGES AREN'T WORKING AND IT JUST STARTLED THEM THIS PROBLEM STARTED AFTER I PURCHASE THE VEHICLE USED AND THE GUY TOLD ME THAT HE NOTICED IT A COUPLE TIMES ON THE ODOMETER WELL IT'S SLOWLY DEVELOPED INTO ALL THE GAUGES NOW. *TR

MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS BEEN ACTING UP HERE RECENTLY AND THE SPEEDOMETER GOES TO 120MPH AND STAYS THERE. YOU CAN'T TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE GAS GAUGE N TEMPERATURE GAUGE WILL GO TO THE TOP LIKE FULL OR HOT OR NOT MOVE AT ALL. COULD BURN AN ENGINE UP OR RUN OUT OF GAS. RECALL WAS DONE I HEARD BUT NOT ON ALL 2007EQUINOX VEHICLES AND IT SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED ALL. THERE ARE A LOT STILL ON THE ROAD. I AM ASKING FOR SAFETY REASONS TO INCLUDE ALL 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX VEHICLES TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY GM. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE REPAIRED AT A SHOP OR AT THE DEALER. IF I WAS ABLE TO DO MYSELF I WOULD BUT I'M NOT A MECHANIC OR DO I KNOW ELECTRICAL SO I'M NOT DOING IT. I WANT IT DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL AND I AM PLEADING THAT ALL 07 CHEVY EQUINOX VEHICLES BE INCLUDED AND A NEW RECALL BE SENT OUT TO ALL 2007 OWNERS. THAT IS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. NOT KNOWING THE SPEED YOU ATE GOING IS UNSAFE. IT GAS BEEN GOING ON NOW SINCE DECEMBER 2019 AND NOW ITS EVERYDAY. THE GAUGES MIGHT WORK ONE DAY THEN NOT WORK FOR 3 DAYS THEN WORK AGAIN FOR ONE DAY. IT NEEDS TO RECALLED ASAP. DOESN'T MATTER IF VEHICLE IS MOVING OR PARKED. IT WILL HO UP 120MPH AND STAY THERE FOR DAYS.

07 EQUINOX VEHICLE WOULDN'T START, KEY STUCK IN IGNITION. TRIED WIGGLING STEERING WHEEL WHICH WAS NOT LOCKED AND WOULD NOT LOCK. THE KEY WOULD NOT COME ALL THE WAY BACK IN ORDER TO GET IT OUT. CAR WAS IN PARK AT HOME THANK GOD. TRIED EVERYTHING I KNOW EVEN LOOKED IT UP ON GOOGLE. THERE WERE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ABOUT 07 EQUINOX KEY STUCK AND SOME VEHICLES WOULD START AND LOTS MORE WOULDNT?? WE TRIED TO DO START BUT IT DID NOT TURN OVER. WE HAD TO PUT ON A CHARGER AND MONITOR THE BATTERY TO SEE IF IT WOULD CHARGE. LATER THAT NIGHT I TOOK THE VEHICLE OFF THE CHARGER AND TRIED IT AND IT STARTED. WENT AND HAD BATTERY CHECKED AT ADVANCE AUTO AND THEY SAID BATTERY HAS NO PROBLEMS FULLY CHARGED. HOW CAN THAT BE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS. I SEEN ONLINE MANY, MANY, COMPLAINTS ON THIS EQUINOX ISSUE AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT HAPPENS IF IT DECIDES TO JUST STOP WORKING ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 65-75 MPH. SOMEONE COULD GET SERIOUS INJURED KILLED IF THEY LOSE POWER ALL OF A SUDDEN. NO LIGHTS WERE LEFT ON, NOTHING WAS LEFT ON CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DRAIN THE BATTERY ALL OF A SUDDEN. THE KEY WAS NOT LEFT IN THE VEHICLE I WENT TO START IT AND KEY STAYED STUCK IN IGNITION AND TURNED OVER BUT NOTHING NO POWER. IF YOU LOSE POWER DRIVING YOU LOSE POWER STEERING. POWER BRAKES, AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET VEHICLE TO A STOP. EVEN USING PARKING BRAKE WHICH MOST PEOPLE WOULD PANIC AND FORGET TO TRY N GET VEHICLE STOPPED AND CRASH INTO AND CARS OR PEDESTRIANS FOR THAT MATTER IF POWER GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THIS NEED TO BE RECALLED AND FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. I HAD TO RECHARGE BATTERY MYSELF. IT CHECKED OUT AS GOOD BATTERY FULLY CHARGED? NO PREVIOUS INCIDENTS ON THIS MATTER THANK GOD. SHOULD RECALL ALL 07 EQUINOX AND HAVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CHECKED.

THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX STARTED GOING CRAZY. I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 30 MPH BUT THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS I'M DOING 60 MPH. WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 55 MPH, IT BOUNCES BETWEEN 90 TO 120 MPH. I'VE EVEN BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY DOING 120 MPH. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG. I'VE FOUND OUT ABOUT NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH OTHER CHEVY'S DOING THE SAME THING BUT CHEVY DOESN'T WANT TO INCLUDE THE EQUINOX. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT MY NEXT STEP IS GOING TO BE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFTER SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,227.

I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX AT A CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN 2014. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. IT WOULD SOMETIMES GET SO I COULD NOT PULL IT OUT OF THE IGNITION AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I HAVE WAITED FOR A YEAR, BECAUSE I BELIEVED THE PROBLEM WOULD GET BETTER. THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED, AND IS SLOWLY GETTING WORSE. I HAVE EVEN TRIED DIFFERENT SETS OF KEYS TO SEE IF THAT MADE A DIFFERENCE, IT HAS NOT. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A FLAT SERVICE OR ON AN INCLINE, THE KEY KEEPS GETTING STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I HAVE EVEN TAKEN ALL OTHER KEYS OFF THE KEY RING THINKING THAT WOULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE, IT DID NOT. THE ONLY WAY THAT I CAN GET THE KEY OUT IS BY SHAKING THE SHIFTER ON THE FLOOR AND WOBBLE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH. THAT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK, SO SOMETIMES I HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND OFF AGAIN TO GET IT TO COME OUT. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE OF THESE TIMES I AM NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION WHICH WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR SOMEONE TO BREAK INTO IT AND STEAL IT FROM ME. I HAVE GONE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE IGNITION CYLINDER AT MY OWN EXPENSE SINCE THERE IS NO OFFICIAL RECALL ON THE PART. *TR

SOMETIMES THE IGNITION FREEZES UP AND DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO REMOVE THE KEY. ALTHOUGH THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS ENOUGH TO BE A CONCERN. IF IN A MALL PARKING LOT IT COULD RENDER ONE IN A DANGEROUS POSITION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I USUALLY HAVE TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES, UP TO 20, BEFORE THE IGNITION WILL RELEASE THE KEY. *TR

I HAVE A DIFFERENT TYPE OF IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM. I CAN'T REMOVE THE KEY WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK. THIS STARTED MAYBE 1 YEAR AGO. I SWITCHED OUT KEYS (USING MY SECOND KEY) AND IT WORKED FINE UNTIL THE LAST 2 MONTHS WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. WHEN IT DOES, I HAVE TO TURN ON THE IGNITION, PUT IT IN GEAR AND DRIVE FORWARD A FEW FEET AND THEN PUT IT IN REVERSE AND GO BACK TO WHERE I NEED TO PARK AND TURN OFF THE KEY. MAYBE IT WILL WORK, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN I'VE HAD TO DO THIS EXERCISE 10 TIMES BEFORE I CAN REMOVE THE KEY. JUST THIS MORNING, I HAD TO DO IT 5 TIMES AT A GAS STATION AND THE PEOPLE NEXT TO ME PROBABLY THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY!!! *JS

CANNOT REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION. KEYS (BOTH KEYS THAT WERE ISSUED WITH THE CAR) WILL GO INTO THE IGNITION WITHOUT A PROBLEM, BUT WHEN TRYING TO REMOVE THE KEYS, THEY WILL NOT COME OUT. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON, WIGGLE THE STEERING WHEEL AND TAKE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR AND PUT BACK IN PARK, SOME TIMES SEVERAL TIMES. YOU WILL FINALLY HEAR A CLICK, LIKE UNLOCKING OF THE DOORS AND THE KEYS WILL COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. TOOK TO A DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL, THEY WORKED ON THE CAR BUT IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 3 YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE KEY WILL NOT RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK AND TURNED OFF. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONE OUT OF EVERY FIVE TIMES THE CAR PARKS. I NORMALLY HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT 1 MINUTE FOR THE KEY TO RELEASE. SOMETIMES, IT WILL STILL NOT RELEASE AND I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON, PUT IT IN REVERSE AND GO A COUPLE FEET, THEN DRIVE FORWARD A COUPLE FEET, PUT IT IN PARK FOR THE KEY TO RELEASE. I MAY HAVE TO DO THIS 3-4 TIMES BEFORE, THE KEY WILL FINALLY RELEASE. *TR

AFTER VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THE KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS! IN ORDER TO PULL THE KEY OUT. YOU MUST EITHER TURN THE VEHICLE ON THEN TURN IT BACK OFF SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE FINALLY THE IGNITION ALLOWS YOU TO REMOVE THE KEY. THE OTHER WAY IT ALLOWS YOU TO PULL OUT THE KEY IS BY TURNING THE KEY WITHOUT TURNING THE VEHICLE ON THEN MOVING THE GEARS FROM PARK TO REVERSE THEN BACK TO PARK. IT JUST CONTINUES TO GET WORSE AND WORSE. IT IS A HUGE CONCERN TO ME BECAUSE I AM AFRAID THAT I WOULD BE UNABLE TO PULL OUT THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE TRIED THE SHIFTER, SIT AND WAIT IN MY CAR TO SEE IF IT WILL RELEASE WITH TIME, STEP ON THE BRAKE FOR A LONG TIME THEN TRY TO TAKE THE KEY OFF AND HOPE IT WILL RELEASE THE KEY. *TR I CAN'T KEEP SITTING IN MY CAR WAITING FOR A MIRACLE TO HAPPEN WHEN I NEED TO LOG IN TO WORK AND AM STUCK IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE KEY WON'T COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED. WITH AZ WEATHER BEING SO HOT SITTING IN THE CAR WAITING FOR THE RELEASE OF THE KEY IS MAKING IT HOT TO BREATHE. DON'T WANT TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS BECAUSE I NEED THE KEY IN TO GET THE WINDOWS BACK UP. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
