CAR WAS JERKING WHILE ACCELERATING HAPPENED FOR ABOUT 5 MINS THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON
DAMAGE TO OIL PAN FROM COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND
WAS DRIVING ALONG ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN CAR SUDDENLY SHUTS OFF AND POWER STEERING IS GONE CAUSING ME TO ALMOST GO OFF THE ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS PLEASE MAKE THE RECALL PUBLIC.
THE A/C BLOWS OUT HOT AIR. SINCE I'VE BEEN CONSISTENTLY BLOWING IT OR TRYING TO BECAUSE IT IS SUMMER, MY CAR STARTING JERKING. IT MIGHT WORK EVERY NOW AND AGAIN. SOMETIMES, ONCE I'M SLOWING DOWN AND THE AIR IS SUPPOSEDLY BLOWING, MY CAR CUTS OFF ON ME WHILE I'M IN DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE PARKING THE CAR AS WELL AS COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I NEEDED TO DEFROST MY WINDOWS, IT CUT OFF ON ME A RED LIGHT.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION REGARDING THE ECOTEC 2.4L ENGINE (LUK). I HAD PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018 WITH 87,932 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND SERVICED. PRIOR TO REACHING THE RECOMMENDED 7500 MILE OIL CHANGE INTERVAL AND BEFORE THE 'CHANGE OIL SOON' NOTIFICATION, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A CERTIFIED GM DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED ON DECEMBER 14TH 2018. IT WAS NOTED THE VEHICLE WAS 3 QUARTS LOW ON OIL AT 94,530 MILES. I CONTINUED TO MONITOR THE OIL LEVELS THERE AFTER UNTIL MY NEXT SERVICING AT 97,063 MILES, AGAIN THE OIL WAS LOW BUT WITHIN MARGIN AS I HAD TOPPED OFF AS NEEDED. NOW WITH MY VEHICLE AT 100,134 MILES AND STILL LOSING OIL I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ENGINE IS PLAGUED BY THE SAME PROBLEM AS FOUND IN THE 2.4L (LEA) FOUND IN THE EQUINOX AND GMC TERRAIN. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THERE WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WITH THE PISTON RINGS COMBINED WITH THE OIL SPRAY COOLING THAT LEAD TO GM ISSUING A SPECIAL WARRANTY COVERAGE TO THE LEA VARIANT HOWEVER NO COVERAGE WAS EXTENDED TO THE LUK VARIANT. IT IS ALSO TO MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE IS NO DISCERNIBLE DIFFERENCE INTERNALLY BETWEEN BOTH VARIANTS WITH THE LUK ENGINE SLIGHTLY MODIFIED TO SUPPORT THE (BAS) BELT ALTERNATOR STARTER MILD HYBRID DRIVETRAIN. BOTH STILL CONTAIN THE SAME PISTONS, PISTON RINGS, AND OIL JET SPRAY TECHNOLOGIES. AT THIS POINT I HAVE RAISED MY CONCERNS WITH GM AND HAVE SCHEDULED A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST TO BE DONE (RULED TO BE UNRELIABLE IN THE LAWSUIT REGARDING LEA TYPE ENGINES). I AM ALSO RAISING MY CONCERNS HERE AS WELL AS I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS A RESULT OF MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND I BELIEVE GM INTENDS TO SKIRT THE ISSUE BY ONLY ADDRESSING THE TYPE OF ENGINE INVOLVED IN THE ORIGINAL LAWSUIT AND ONLY THOSE VEHICLES FOR WHICH THEY WERE EQUIPPED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAMILTON CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 5800 E 14 MILE RD, WARREN, MI 48092, (586) 838-1537) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PIIR = Y. *JB
THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, MY DAUGHTER WAS SLOWING DOWN COMING UP TO A RED LIGHT. BEFORE SHE STOPPED THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED BLOWING THEN THE CAR TURNED OFF. SHE PUT IT IN PARK AND WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN, THE FIRST TIME IT WAS WHEN SHE PUT IT IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE.
3/19/19 I WENT IN FOR AN OIL/FILTER CHANGE AND A "PREMIER ENGINE OIL SERVICE" (WHICH WAS EXPLAINED AS A ENGINE FLUSH TO MY WIFE). SATURDAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACTIVATES AND I PUT A CODE READER ON AND A P0010 (INTAKE CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT). AFTER RESEARCHING I SAW THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING PROBLEM ON OTHER MALIBU MODELS BUT DID NOT SEE ANYTHING FOR MY VIN, SHOULD I HANDLE HIS ON MY OWN OR REFER BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS THEIR ERROR?
THE OIL VACUUM PUMP BURST OPEN CAUSING A MAJOR OIL LEAK. NO PRIOR OIL LEAKS OR DAMAGES TO VEHICLE.

EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED TO RESET THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND SUGGESTED TAKING THE VEHICLE TO DAN CUMMINS CHEVROLET BUICK (1020 M.L.K. JR BLVD, PARIS, KY 40361, 1-(859) 987-4345) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: RQ13003 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
AROUND THE END OF OCT, HAD LUNCH AT A RESTAURANT AND AS I WAS LEAVING THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR STALLED AND JERKED A LITTLE. I MANAGED TO GET IT GOING BUT SINCE THEN IT'S BEEN DOING IT WHILE DRIVING ~ WE RAN IT THROUGH A DIAGNOSTIC AND WAS GIVEN A CODE "INTAKE (A) CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR CIRCUIT/OPEN OVER-ADVANCED....."
CAR REPORTING ERROR CODE "P0304 - CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE". CAR HAS 88000 MILES ON IT, DEALER SAYS THERE'S INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGE. THIS WAS VERIFIED BY SECOND AUTO REPAIR SHOP. WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT GM IS AWARE OF A PROBLEM WITH THIS 2.0L TURBO ENGINE ON SEVERAL OF THEIR AUTOMOBILE MODELS (PI1178B, PI1178D, PI1178E). CAR HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED WITH ALL SCHEDULED SERVICE BEING PERFORMED.

THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED AN ABNORMAL ODOR COMING FROM UNDER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND BUMPER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CARMAX (2070 STAFFORD WAY, NEWARK, DE 19711, (302) 737-7809) WHERE THE FLYWHEEL WAS REPLACED. THE DIAGNOSIS INFORMATION WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON, CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP REPAIRED ONE TIME AND IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN
2/3/2018, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS15DEGREES FAHRENHEIT . TRAVELING AT 65 MPH THEN SUDDENLY VEHICLE SLOWED AND A WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH, "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" AND TWO WARNING LIGHTS, TRACTION AND ENGINE LIGHT. AS I PROCEEDED TO MY DESTINATION AN ENGINE OVER SPEED WARNING CAME ON SLOWING THE VEHICLE. VEHICLES IN THE REAR STARTED PASSING MY VEHICLE SINCE I COULD NOT MAINTAIN THE SPEED LIMIT. THIS INCIDENT WAS A BIT SCARY. TWO CODES WERE RETRIEVED VIA ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS, P228D AND P0089. CODES WERE CLEARED AND THINGS SO FAR ARE OK. MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS 48,683.
VEHILE IS AT 61K NO ACCIDENTS, WHILE INCREASING SPEED AS COMING ON TO THE INTERSTATE (HAD NOT EVEN REACHED 70 MPH) THE ENGINE OVERHEATING WARNING CAME ON, I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE AND BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO TURN OFF THE CAR, IT ALL THE SUDDEN COOLED DOWN AND NO WARNING WAS GIVEN. CALLED THE HUSBAND HE SAID IT HAD HAPPEN ONE OTHER TIME 2 DAYS AGO. HE SAID THAT IT INSTANTLY COOLS ITSELF DOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAWK CHEVROLET OF JOLIET (2001 W JEFFERSON ST, JOLIET, IL 60435) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT SOLENOID FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL BACK. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAYDOCY BUICK GMC LOCATED AT 3895 BROAD ST, COLUMBUS, OHIO WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU CAM POSITIONING ACTUATOR CAUSED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. WHEN I HAD THE CODE READ, THEY SAID THAT THE SENSOR WAS THROWING THE CODE. MY CAR JUST WENT OUT OF DEALERSHIP WARRANTY WITH 52,XXX MILES ON IT. IS THIS COVERED BY GM RECALL?
GET ENGINE OIL WARNING FOR LOW LEVEL
MY NAME IS [XXX] I BOUGHT A 2013 CHEVY MALIBU THREE WEEKS AGO. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING HEADACHE, WEAK , DIZZINESS AND NAUSEOUS . I HAVE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I WANTED TO KNOW OF THERE IS ANY RECALL FOR THE MANIFOLD EXHAUST, CATALYTIC CONVERTER,OR ALL EXHAUST SYSTEM,BUT SOMETHING MOST BE WRONG DEALER DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING,AND STILL HAVE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. LAST SUMMER, CAR WOULD NOT START; REPLACED BATTERY. IN JANUARY 2017, TOOK IN FOR STARTING ISSUES - FOUND NOTHING. NOW ENGINE LIGHT ON; DEALER COULD NOT ASSIST ME. DRIVING THIS EVENING; BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON THEN TOTAL SHUT DOWN OF VEHICLE - HAD TO TOW IT INTO DEALER.
