PART NUMBER 12633613 IS FAULTY AND GM DOESN'T HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART AVAILABLE. CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON THE INTAKE ROCKER ARM CONTROL VALVE SINCE DECEMBER 2019. APPARENTLY GM HAS DISCONTINUED THIS PART FOR MALIBUS AND IMPALAS. THEY ARE SAYING IT IS ON BACK ORDER. I AM STILL PAYING ON MY VEHICLE AND THIS SHOULD BE APART OF A RECALL. THERE IS THOUSANDS OF US THAT IS WAITING ON THIS PART AND THIS IS SO UNFAIR. I AM TERRIFIED THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO MY ENGINE IF THIS IS NOT FIXED SOON.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VVP ROCKER OIL SOLENOID CEASED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. *BF*JB
MY CAR HAS BEEN IN NEED A GM PART FOR ALMOST EIGHT MONTHS. THE PART # IS 12633613. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH CHEVY REPRESENTATIVES OVER A DOZEN TIMES. DESPITE DISCONTINUING THE ENGINE THAT REQUIRES THIS PART AND THE MANY COMPLAINTS AND PEOPLE WHO CAN'T OPERATE THEIR VEHICLES WITH THIS ENGINE, CHEVY/GENERAL MOTORS REFUSES TO DO A RECALL. THE FAULTY PART CAUSES CARS TO JERK AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. BEFORE REALIZING THE CAR WASN'T FULLY OPERABLE, I WAS ALMOST HIT DUE TO MY INABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD. I HAVE INVESTED IN CHEVY AND I HAVE TAKEN GREAT CARE OF MY CAR. ONE SMALL SOLENOID ROCKER ARM SHOULD NOT KEEP ME FROM ENJOYING THE VEHICLE I HAVE PURCHASED. ASIDE FROM THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOSS FROM THE CAR ITSELF, I SPENT HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE PART NECESSARY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED WITH AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT AS SUGGESTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. FOR A FEW YEARS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE I NOTICED SOMETIMES IT WOULD STUTTER OR THROTTLE AND SURGE WHILE DRIVING, BUT EVERY TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY WERE "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM. NOW THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM I BELIEVE IS ERROR CODE P16D0, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PART THAT IS MENTIONED IN THIS CODE. GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD COMPENSATE VEHICLE PURCHASERS WHO HAVE RUN INTO THIS ISSUE.
REQUEST #282669 COMPLAINT15 APRIL, 2020 TRACKING # 11321107 THE FOLLOWING COMPLAINT REFERENCES MY 2014 CHEVY MALIBU, ECOTEC 2.5L DOHC ENGINE, VIN #[XXX]. PURCHASED 9/15/2014 FROM GEORGE HAHAS CHEVROLET IN WILDWOOD, FL. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH ~23,300 MILES ON IT. IN OCTOBER 2019, THE VEHICLE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH AT 20-25 MILES PER HOUR (ODOMETER: ~21,000) AND THE VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. THE ENGINE GAS MILEAGE ALSO DECREASED. I TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ROCKER ARM VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY). IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE CLEANED DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE CARBON BUILD UP DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING PART. THIS CLEAN-UP WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE WARRANTED PART. I WAS TOLD IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL THE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH. AT THAT POINT I WAS TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AS IT WOULD NO LONGER BE DRIVABLE. THIS REPAIR WAS ATTEMPTED DURING THE GM WORKER STRIKE AND THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER THE STRIKE, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FROM GM OR ANY AFTERMARKET MANUFACTURER. AFTER WAITING UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR, I AGAIN CONTACTED NAHAS CHEVROLET AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE, AND GM HAD NO PLANS TO PRODUCE IT. FURTHER, A WARRANTED PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FROM ANY MANUFACTURER. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT OVER 20 VEHICLES AT THIS SINGLE DEALERSHIP NEEDED THIS SAME PART. ON MARCH 2, 2020 I CONTACTED GM CONSUMER SERVICES (CASE # 9-5847264087). THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE INFORMED THAT GM HAD NO PLANS TO MAKE THIS PART AND KNEW OF NO AFTERMARKET MANUFACTURER WHO COULD SUPPLY A WARRANTED PART. THEY TOLD ME OF THREE UNWARRANTED MANUFACTURERS, BUT IF THE PART EVER CAUSED FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, THE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PARTS WERE NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED. WHILE DRIVING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PLUGGED IT IN TO SEE WHAT CODES IT WAS READING BOTH O2 SENSOR AND WELL AS AS CAM SHAFT,CHECK ENGINE LITLGHT IS STILL ON SENSING THE SAME CODES. WENT TO 2 DIFFERENT GARAGES AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND THE ISSUE. I'M UNABLE TO GET MY CAR INSPECTED DUE TO THE ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE HAS SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE INTAKE ROCKER ARM VVT OIL CONTROL VALVE. GM HAS HALTED PRODUCTION ON THIS PART WITH NO VIABLE SOLUTION OR REPLACEMENT OPTION. GM P#12633613. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. HE TOLD ME THAT THE VALVE ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL IS BAD. HE TOLD ME I AM THE 9TH IN THE QUE JUST FROM LANSING AREA AND THE PART IS BACK ORDERED SINCE AUGUST 2019. HE ORDERED THE PART FROM SHAHEEN CHEVROLET. I CALLED THE GM HELP LINE. INITIALLY THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL BUT LATER THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THEY CAN'T DO ANY THING. THE CAR IS STANDING OUTSIDE ON THE ROAD AND I AM PAYING THE INSURANCE AND JUST PAID THE REGISTRATION. THE DEFECTIVE PART NUMBERS ARE 12633613 AND 12634467 (GASKET + PART). GM CASE NUMBER IS 9-5813783154. THE PERSON WHO TOOK MY CALL WAS THANNA AND THE DATE I CALLED WAS 2/13/2020.
CAME TO A STOP AT A STOP LIGHT AUTO STOP CAME ON. WHEN LET OFF THE BRAKE THE AUTO START DID NOT START. IT TRIED TO THEN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. HAD TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND TURN THE KEY TO GET IT TO START. I WAS IN RIGHT LANE TRYING TO TURN. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT WOULD NOT START WITH TURNING THE KEY UNTIL THE SECOND TIME TURNING THE KEY. THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES ON MY WAY HOME. WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. WHILE IT WOULD NOT START AT 2 STOPS CARS THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO MOVE AND I COULDN'T. AUTO STOP AND START WAS COMING ON AT ALMOST EVERY STOP THIS MORNING AND MY HUSBAND MADE A COMMENT ABOUT HOW THAT WAS STRANGE AND IT SHOULD NOT DO IT. YESTERDAY WE JUST REPLACED THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST SEANOID.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
MY VEHICLE SHOWS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE DEALER MADE A CHECK AND FOUND PROBLEMS WITH THE ROCKET ARM VALVE PART NUMBER 12633613 (ENGINE VARIABLE TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE). THAT WAS IN DECEMBER 2019, THEY REQUEST THE PART TO GM, AND SO FAR THE PART IS UNAVAILABLE. I TRIED TO BUY IT THROUGH INTERNET AND FRIENDS IN OTHER STATES, AND NO AUTO PARTS HAVE THIS PART. THIS PART IS NECESSARY BECAUSE CONTROL THE TIMING OF THE ENGINE. MY CAR CAN GET RUIN IF I DO NOT CHANGE THAT PART. GM IS BEING IRRESPONSABLE TO HAVE THIS IMPORTANT PART OF THE CAR AVAILABLE.
ENGINE CODE P16D0 CAUSING A VALVE THAT CONTROLS AIR TO OIL INTAKE FOR THE MOTOR IS STUCK OPEN CAUSING IN ACCURATE OIL PRESSURE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IN MOTION. TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE WOULD MOST LIKELY CAUSE EXTREME ENGINE FAILURE AND IMPROPER GAS MILEAGE. AFTER CHECKING THE CODE AND REPLACING THE "AFFECTED" PARTS, THE LIGHT IS STILL NOT CLEARED AS IT CREATES MORE ISSUES WITHIN THE MOTOR. THE DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE AND IS CHARGING AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF MONEY JUST TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE WITH OUT ANY GUARANTEES. THERE ARE ALSO AN ABUNDANCE OF SIMILAR SITUATIONS AND IT ALL OCCURS ONCE THESE VEHICLES GET TO 100,000 MILES. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD CORRECT SUCH AN ISSUE AS MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EXPERIANCING THE ISSUE.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE PLUGS BUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE IGNITION, THE ENGINE STARTED TO SMOKE AND WAS UNABLE TO START THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CYLINDER NUMBER 3 AND ENGINE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,500.
ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY. I HAD A DIAGNOSTICS TEST DONE THEY SAID IT IS THE ROCKER ARM SOLENOID. THEY SAID THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND 1 OF OUR LOCAL DEALERS HAD 6 CARS WAITING FOR THIS PART AT THE TIME AND HAD ALREADY BEEN WAITING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT GM SHOULD BE DOING A RECALL FOR.

2014 CHEVY MALIBU 2LT 75,000 MILES. OMAHA, NE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME. HESITATION IN ACCELERATION. DIAGNOSTIC CODE P16CF - INTAKE ROCKER ARM SOLENOID VALVE 2 CONTROL CIRCUIT. CHEVY DEALER HAS 17 ON BACKORDER. AFTER RESEARCH THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE, WITH NO RECALL. SHOP ORDERED PART 2 WEEKS AGO. THEY ARE TELLING US THEY HOPE TO HAVE THE PART BY FIRST OF FEBRUARY.
ON 11/19/19, I WAS DRIVING ON A SIDE STREET (25 MPH) WHEN THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2014 CHEVY MALIBU. THE CAR IS DRIVEABLE, BUT AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 35 MPH, THE REDUCED POWER IS NOTICEABLE. I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (MATTHEWS HARGREAVES CHEVROLET IN ROYAL OAK, MI) FOR REPAIR. THEY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS BEING THE ROCKER ARM SOLENOID VALVE, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX IT BECAUSE GM IS NOT CURRENTLY MAKING THE PART AND IT IS UNAVAILABLE THROUGH AFTERMARKET. FOR NEARLY A MONTH, I HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH A CAR THAT IS ONLY BARELY USABLE. ON COLDER DAYS, MY CAR HAS A MORE DIFFICULT TIME WITH EVEN HANDLING LOW SPEEDS AND I'M TERRIFIED THAT IT'S GOING TO BECOME COMPLETELY INOPERABLE BEFORE THIS IS FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO CURRENTLY HAS 6 VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT ARE IN NON-DRIVEABLE CONDITION. THE DEALER HAS ALSO INFORMED ME THAT OVER 50 CARS AROUND THE COUNTRY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. GM HAS BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP DESPITE BEING AWARE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
THE AUTOSTOP FEATURE HAS A MALFUNCTION WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A STOP ON DOWN SIDE OF A HILL CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHUT COMPLETELY OFF FOR UP TO 15 TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE IT CRANKS BACK UP AGAIN. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND THE CAR IS ABLE TO SWITCH GEARS AND LIGHTS COME ON INT HE DASH AS NORMAL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS WHILE ITS IN THIS DEAD STATE AND ONCE IT CRANKS UP AS NORMAL THE LIGHT GOES OFF. LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ARENT ABLE TO PINPOINT THE EXACT ISSUE AND THE CAR DOESNT KEEP A RECORD OF THE CHECK ENGINE CODE. A NEW BATTERY WAS GIVEN ONCE BUT THAT DISNT LAST LONG BEFORE THE AUTO STOP FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN
