Power steering is going out then comes back every so often. It tells me service power steering drove with care. I have had it checked and they shops computer won’t let them into the power steering window. The engine is reading no codes, however power steering continues to go in and out. In a slow speed left hand turn, the vehicle shut down and power steering assist stopped working. It left me in the middle of the road on a busy thoroughfare. It has happened before. Sometimes the vehicle does not shut off, but will temporarly loose power steering, meaning you have apply the brakes and stop wherever you are: parking lot, highway, interstate. Records show that a recall, (N172085440), was issued for this problem and that a repair was completed 6/29/2017, approximately 2 months before I bought the vehicle. It is very scary to get stranded in the middle of a busy intersection! Our safety was certainly put at risk!
My power steering intermittently stops working while driving and turning. I did some research online and saw that this year make and model vehicle has an open recall for this exact problem although when I called GM recall they said my vehicle was not on the recall list. I would like to be added to the recall list so I don't get in an accident that could've been avoided.
