THE "DOOR IS AJAR" (LEFT REAR) WARNING LIGHT IS ON EVEN THOUGH THE LEFT REAR DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED AND LOCKED. *TR
THE "DOOR IS AJAR" (LEFT REAR) WARNING LIGHT IS ON EVEN THOUGH THE LEFT REAR DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED AND LOCKED. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS DEFINITELY CLOSED. CAR DOES NOT THINK SO. DASH WARNING LIGHT IS ON. DOME LIGHTS ON. WHEN USING THE CLICKER TO LOCK THE DOORS THE HORN BEEPS A COUPLE OF TIMES. WEIRD STUFF. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE SAFETY PROBLEMS OR NOT. THIS EDGE ALSO HAS BACK BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE BACK ROTORS AND BRAKES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TWICE ALREADY DUE TO CORROSION. BAD DESIGN. THEY GET REALLY HOT AND MUST BE SLIGHTLY IN THE BRAKING POSITION THEN UNTIL CHANGED. WINTER IN MINNESOTA - SALT AND FORD'S BETTER IDEA. ONE MORE THING: WHEN WE CHANGE THE TEMPERATURE SETTINGS THE COMPUTER THINGS WE WANT AIR CONDITIONING. THIS CAUSES THE WINDOWS TO COMPLETELY FOG OVER UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS TALKS WITH FORD MOTORS ABOUT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. THEY DO NOT GET IT AND BASICALLY BLOW US OFF BECAUSE OF COST OR LACK OF UNDERSTANDING. THERE ARE COMPLAINTS FILED. *TR
DRIVERS DOOR AJAR SWITCH MALFUNCTION CAUSING LOCKS TO MALFUNCTION. *TR
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON ALL THE TIME, ELLUDING TO THE DRIVER'S DOOR BEING OPEN, WHEN IT IS NOT. WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO LOCK MY DOORS WHEN DRIVING, MAKING IT UNSAFE AND WEARING DOWN MY BATTERY. *TR
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED AS WELL AS WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING. INTERIOR AS WELL AS PUDDLE LIGHTS COME ON. FREQUENT SLAMMING IF DOOR TO TRIGGER SENSOR DOES NOT WORK. UNABLE TO TURN LIGHTS OFF. PROHIBITS DOORS FROM LOCKING WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS SHUT, THE DRIVE SIDE DOOR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON. IT WILL NOT GO OUT UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WE HAVE TO CHECK THE VEHICLE PERIODICALLY TO BE SURE THEY TURN OFF. WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED OUTSIDE AND NO ONE IS NEAR THE VEHICLE, THE ALARM WILL GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY. THIS HAPPENS DURING THE DAY AND AT NIGHT. IT SEEMS TO HAVE STARTED AFTER THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WARNING LIGHT STARTED STAYING ON. OUR VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER, THEY STATED THEY SEE THE PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WARNING LIGHT A LOT BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT. THE REPAIR CAN BE AS MUCH AS $500.00. *TR
DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR. THE SENSOR SAYS THE DOOR IS AJAR, BUT IT IS NOT, AND WILL NOT GO OFF EVEN AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, WHICH IS A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR

THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WARNING REMAINS LIT EVEN WHEN MY DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED. I EITHER HAVE TO SLAM MY DOOR CLOSED OR OPEN/CLOSE MY DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN OFF. THIS WEEK, THE LIGHT HAS STARTED COMING ON WHILE MY CAR IS IN MOTION, WHICH FREAKS ME OUT. DUE TO THE LIGHT COMING BACK ON EVEN AFTER IT INITIALLY GOES OFF, MY DOME LIGHT IS STAYING ON AND RUNNING MY CAR BATTERY DOWN. I NEEDED A JUMP START THIS WEEK DUE TO MY BATTERY BEING DEAD. DRIVER DOOR SAYS IT'S OPEN WHEN IT'S NOT. *TR
DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH REPORTS DOOR IS AJAR, WHICH PREVENTS CAR FROM LOCKING DOORS WHEN CAR IS MOVING. OTHER SIDE EFFECTS - CAN'T USE TOUCH-LOCK FEATURES, LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON AFTER CAR IS LOCKED ETC. *TR
PROBLEM: DOOR AJAR SENSOR MY FORD EDGE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I ATTEMPT TO SHUT THE DOOR. WITH THIS LIGHT ON THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT TURN OFF FOR A PERIOD OF 10-15 MINUTES. MY DAUGHTER AND I DRIVE IN MY EDGE EVERYDAY, WITH THE DOORS NOT LOCKING I FIND THAT THIS CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS HAZARD. TODAY WE WERE DRIVING THRU THE MALL PARKING LOT AND A STRANGER APPROACHED MY EDGE AS IF HE WERE GOING TO ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR. AT THE TIME THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS ON AND ALL DOORS WERE UNLOCKED, AS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LOCK THE DOORS WITH THIS LIGHT ON. LORD FORBID HE WOULD HAVE OPENED THAT PASSENGER DOOR AND HARMED MY DAUGHTER. DOES IT TAKE A TRAGEDY TO HAPPEN BEFORE THE MANUFACTURER DECIDES TO DEEM THIS PROBLEM A LEGITIMATE RECALL..... I HAVE READ A TREMENDOUS ABOUT OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, HOW CAN THIS BE TRANSFORMED INTO A RECALL ISSUE? WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET FORD OR THE SAFETY BOARD TO RESOLVE THIS?? DOOR AJAR STAYS ON AFTER DOOR CLOSED. *TR
ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR ONLY, THE DOOR AJAR NOTIFICATION REMAINS ON EVEN AFTER THE DOOR IS SECURELY SHUT. THE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WITH THAT NOTIFICATION ON AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT WANT TO GO OUT EITHER. ALSO, WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND THE DOORS ARE LOCKED, THIS, WHAT SEEMS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE, CAUSES THE AUXILIARY LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF AND IT CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DIE OVER TIME. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN 2012. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH DISPLAY WHILE THE DRIVER DOOR WAS FULLY/PROPERLY CLOSED AND ALL FOURS LOCKED. THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR A DISTANCE BEFORE THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS TURNED ON, AND THE DRIVER DOOR POPPED PARTIALLY OPEN ON ITS OWN WHICH RESULTED IN ALL DOORS TO UNLOCK POSING A SAFETY RISK TO THE CHILD PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE DRIVER. THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON, WHICH IN TURN KEEPS THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS ON AND PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING AND THE ALARM FROM ARMING. THIS ISSUE IS PRESENT AT ALL TIMES, WHILE OPERATING/DRIVING AND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF/PARKED WHICH IN TURN CAUSES ADDED STRAIN ON THE BATTERY AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. THE LOCAL FORD DEALER/SERVICE DEPARTMENT AS WELL AS FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED SEVERAL TIMES AND REFUSES TO INVESTIGATE/INSPECT, UNLESS THEY ARE PAID A VERY EXPENSIVE "FEE". *TR
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR CEASES TO FUNCTION AND INDICATE WHETHER THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED, LEAVING IT IN THE "AJAR" STATE. BY HAVING IT IN THIS STATE, THE VEHICLES LOCKS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO THE BATTERY DRAINS WHILE THE CAR IS NOT IN USE. *TR
THE DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR SENSOR STAYS ON AND YOU WILL HAVE TO OPEN AND SHUT THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT GOES OUT AND SOMETIMES THAT DOESN'T WORK. MY FIRST INCIDENT WAS WHEN MY CAR WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD (EARLY 2012) AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE REPLACED. THEN IN MARCH OF 2014, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. SO WHEN I WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD CLEAN IT AND GO FROM THERE. JUST 2 SHORT WEEKS LATER IT STARTED HAPPENING ONCE AGAIN SO THIS TIME I HAVE RETURNED THE CAR AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME A $100 DEDUCTIBLE TO DO THE WORK. I ASKED WHY BECAUSE I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND HE EXPLAINED THAT CERTAIN ITEMS ARE COVERED BUT WITH A DEDUCTIBLE FEE. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO BE A RECURRING ISSUE WITH NO FAULT OF THE CONSUMER. *TR
DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY- DOOR AJAR WONT GO AWAY, DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I PARKED THE CAR AND CLOSED ALL DOORS AND USED THE REMOTE TO LOCK THE DOORS WHEN I RECEIVED THE TWO BEEPS TO INDICATE A DOOR WAS OPEN. ADDITIONALLY THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OFF. I CHECKED ALL DOORS WHICH WAS CLOSED ONLY TO SEE IN THE DASH THE DOOR AJAR SIGN. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT NOW WILL NOT OFF OFF NOR WILL MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WHICH IS DRAINING MY BATTERY. DUE TO THIS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHICH LEAVE MY VEHICLE VULNERABLE TO THEFT AND WHILE DRIVING MY CHILD SUSCEPTIBLE TO DANGER. *TR
DRIVER DOOR AJAR INDICATOR IS ILLUMINATED WHEN DOOR IS SHUT. DOOR MUST BE CLOSED REPEATEDLY TO GET THE AJAR LIGHT TO GO OFF. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON AND DOES NOT GO OUT EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS CAUSES THE DOORS NOT TO LOCK CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. WHEN PARKED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN LIT WHICH CAUSES THE BATTERY TO BE DRAINED AND THE CAR WILL NOT START. I HAD IT FIXED AT THE DEALER UNDER WARRANTY JUST AFTER 1 YEAR OF BUYING THE VEHICLE NEW, THEN THE 2ND TIME WAS 1 YEAR AFTER THE REPLACEMENT SWITCH NOW NOT UNDER WARRANTY AT THIS RATE I WILL NEED TO BUY ONE DRIVERS DOOR SWITCH EVERY YEAR AT $400 A POP. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY TOO. REALLY! *TR

DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON WHEN DOOR WAS CLOSED SECURELY. OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AT FIRST, BUT THEN HAPPENED ALL THE TIME. REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. AROUND MAY OF 2013 (OUT OF WARRANTY BY A FEW MONTHS) THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WILL COST $300-400 TO FIX. IN THE MEANTIME, MY DOORS WILL NOT REMAIN LOCKED WHILE DRIVING AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE GOING OFF, USING BATTERY POWER. IN RESEARCHING THIS, IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH FORD CARS FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. HAVING TO REPLACE THIS SENSOR TWICE IN THREE YEARS IS UNACCEPTABLE! *TR
