I recently bought my car and the battery light was on when I test drove it. They told me to bring it back and they would fix it. That it was a sensor problem easy to fix. I have brought the car back multiple times. They put a whole new sensor system in, new battery, and just recently rebuilt the alternator. As I was driving the car home, the light went on again it comes on a few times in the day, and eventually goes off by itself. None of the mechanics know what to do now. I looked up on Google if there were any recalls on my car and read something about” the power supply cables at the starter, and the alternator may not have been properly secured, possibly resulting in an electrical arc. “ I’m thinking, possibly could this be it? The light that comes on says charging system service now in red and there is a picture of at battery. I do not feel safe, especially not knowing what the problem is.

Only have about 13600 miles on my 2018 Edge and the battery drains down about .5 v overnight. Could not start in in my garage after 4 days of sitting, charged it up and took it to the Ford dealer where they did a load test on the battery, it tested at 89%. I did a load test with a multimeter with the same results. Dealer told me to keep a trickle charger on it because I didn't drive it enough which was a poor answer. There is a NHTSA #18V54800 out there and a Ford recall #18S25 that does not include my SUV but it could have the same problem. Looking on line there are others with the same issues with the battery going dead just by sitting and in most cases changing out batteries was not the cure and it seemed Ford offered no resolve. If this is a problem caused by a loose connection or a short it could indeed become a bigger safety issue. My vehicle was built at the same plant as stated on the Ford recall # and it should be considered a safety issue for all Edges of the model year of 2018 made a that plant. I'm not sure this is my problem but I need to start somewhere noting that it's happened to others besides me. Thank you for any help in this matter
MY SCREEN WENT COMPLETELY BACK AND NEVER TURNED BACK ON. I CAN NO LONGER USE THE USB PORTS, TURN ON MY RADIO, USE MY REARVIEW MIRROR, CONNECT MY PHONE NOR CONTROL MY A/C SETTINGS. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY INDICATED IT'S A BAD APIM. ANOTHER ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. AFTER 18 MONTHS MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE HAD A BATTERY, STARTER, ALTERNATOR AND ENGINE REPLACED. NOW I NEED A NEW APIM? FORD IS RIDICULOUS. THEY'RE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY IN CARS IS GONE. MY CAR SHOULD BE A LEMON YET, 3 YEARS AFTER CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS, I'M STILL FIGHTING FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE RECALLED.

BATTERY GOES DEAD EVERY 1,500 MILES-------------THIRD BATTERY IN CAR. FORD TECHINICIAN SAYS THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING UNUSUAL IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO WOULD CAUSE THIS. THIRD BATTERY NOW IN AUTO HAS TROUBLE STARTING IN COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS----STARTER TURNS OVER VERY SLOWLY DURING INITIAL START OF THE DAY
AT RANDOM TIMES (NO CONSISTENCY) AS WE ARE DRIVING OR AT INITIAL START UP, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL BLACK OUT WITH NO COMMUNICATION ALONG WITH AN OCCASION "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK" MESSAGE THAT APPEARS. RADIO IS LOST AS WELL. I HAVE RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR WARRANTY REPAIR FOR THE 4TH TIME IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS WITH NO RESOLUTION. INITIAL REPAIR WAS A LOOSE WIRE, SAME ISSUE APPEARED LESS THAN A WEEK LATER. 2ND REPAIR THE DEALER "FLASHED" THE BCM. SAME ISSUE APPEARED THE NEXT DAY. THIRD REPAIR, THE BCM WAS REPLACED. LESS THAN 2 DAYS LATER, SAME ISSUE APPEARED. IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AGAIN AND I WAS TOLD THAT FORD ENGINEERING NOW HAS TO GET INVOLVED AS THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE.
CAR JUST DIED 4 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE; THERE WAS NO LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. THE BATTERY HAD TO BE CHARGED AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE DRIVEN 30 - 45 MINUTES EVERY TIME TO KEEP IT CHARGED. THIS IS NORMAL?
