THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT, WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *JB

AUTO LOAD LEVELING SUSPENSION FAILED JUNE 2002. DEALER FOUND WIRING PROBLEM THAT CAUSED SHORT AND CAUSED SENSOR TO FAIL. WHEN SYSTEM FAILS, SYSTEM DROPS REAR OF CAR DOWN ON AXLE WITH NO SUSPENSION. VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY OVER ROUGH ROAD AND WHEN CORNERING. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND FORD THAT THIS WAS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND WOULD BE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS IF TOWING A TRAILER WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IN MAY OF 2003 SYSTEM FAILED WHILE TOWING A FAIRLY HEAVY TRAILER. TRAILER TONGUE HIT THE PAVEMENT. VEHICLE WAS VERY UNSTABLE TO DRIVE AND GET SAFELY OFF THE ROAD. THIS TIME THE PROBLEM WAS A RELAY THAT FAILED. VEHICLES WITH THIS LOAD LEVELING SYSTEM NEED TO BE RECALLED AND MODIFIED TO FREEZE THE SYSTEM IN IT'S CURRENT STATE WHEN A FAILURE IS DETECTED AND NOT TO LET OUT ALL OF THE AIR IN THE SUSPENSION. THERE NEEDS TO BE A WAY TO DISABLE THE SYSTEM AND MANUALLY ADD OR REMOVE AIR FROM THE AIR SHOCKS IN THIS SITUATION. I PREFER TO REMOVE THE "AUTOMATIC" CONTROL FROM THIS SYSTEM AND CONTROL IT MANUALLY. *JB

THE VEHICLE IS RATED TO EASILY TOW MY BOAT AND TRAILER. WHILE MOVING MY BOAT SO I COULD MOW AROUNG WHERE IT SITS THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM LET OUT A VERY LOAD SOUND OF AIR. I UNHOOKED THE TRAILER AND THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE WAS ALMOST ON THE GROUND. I JUST DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE AIR LINK COUPLER SEPARATED AND THIS CAUSED THE AIR TO LEAK OUT. IT WAS A VERY ROUGH RIDE TO THE DEALER AND ALSO VERY DANGEROUS. I AM JUST GLAD I WASN'T GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THIS OCCURED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND CAN I EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH, I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING IS VERY UNSTABLE. WE HAVE TAKEN IN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND YET THEY HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE ADJUSTED THE RIDE HEIGHT TWICE, SET THE ALIGNMENT, INSTALLED NEW STEERING GEAR, IDLER ARM (DID THIS TWICE), PITMAN ARM, AND CHAMBER/CASTER KIT ALONG WITH OTHER CORRECTIONS. JUST THE OTHER DAY, WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY AND FELT THE VEHICLE LOSING CONTROL. IN FACT, WHEN WE TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WITH ONE OF THE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE VEHICLE JUMPED OVER TWO LANES. THIS VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IF YOU CAN PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
