TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THE FIRE STARTED EITHER IN OR NEAR THE FUSE BOX. FORD 2000 EXPITITION CAUGHT ON FIRE AND WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED AND OCCURED IN MY DRIVEWAY AROUND 7AM AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ON AND THE LAST TIME USED AROUND 10:30 PM THE PREVIOUS NIGHT. *NM
MY 2000 FORD F-150 BURNED TO A CRISP LAST NIGHT. I HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE AND PARKED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS INSIDE PUTTING THE GROCERIES AWAY WHEN I HEARD A "BOOM" OUTSIDE AND WHEN I RAN OUT I OBSERVED A FIRED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS TOTALED. THERE WAS SOME MINOR DAMAGE TO MY RESIDENCE AND I NOW HAVE A REALLY COOL LOOKING GARBAGE CAN FROM THE HEAT OF THE FIRE. FRIENDS INFORMED ME TODAY THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS RECALLS, AND SIMILAR INCIDENTS, BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT ANY RECALLS. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS BESIDES CONTACTING MY INSURANCE COMPANY(S)? *NM
TL* - THE CONTACT'S ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE EARLIER THIS WEEK ON HIS FORD F-150. THE ARSON INSPECTOR INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A FAILURE OF HIS CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. THE CONTACT STATES THAT THE WEATHER WAS BRIGHT AND SUNNY ON THE DAY OF THE FAILURE.

MY UNCLE'S F-150 2000 FORD WAS SITTING OUTSIDE MY BUSINESS FOR 1-1 1/2 HOURS WHEN A KID RODE UP ON A BIKE AND TOLD THEM THERE WAS A TRUCK OUT FRONT ON FIRE. THEY TRIED TO PUT IT OUT BUT FAILED. IT WENT UP THE FRONT WALL OF MY BUILDING AND COMPLETELY BURNED MY BUSINESS DOWN. *NM
INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL FAILURES IN WET CONDITIONS. MOST SEVERE WAS WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN. LESS SEVERE, RADIO WILL STOP, ODOMETER WILL TURN BLANK, ACCESSORIES WILL REMAIN ON WITH TRUCK TURNED OFF. *NM
WOKE UP AT 3:55 A.M. AND MY 2000 FORD F150 WAS FULLY INVOLVED IN FLAMES. IT ALSO CAUGHT A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF IT 1999 DODGE DURANGO IN FLAMES. IT THEN PROCEEDED TO CATCH MY HOUSE ON FIRE. *NM
TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE PARKED AND SHUT OFF IN DRIVE WAY OF HOME. LOOKS TO BE ELECTRICAL FIRE. *JB
ODOMETER LIGHT KEEPS FADING ON/OFF AND AT TIMES WILL NOT TURN ON WHEN YOU START THE ENGINE OR GO OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROBLEM SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 09/2000. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED INTO IT AND FOUND IT WAS INCONCLUSIVE. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED ON SATURDAY JUNE 17TH SMOKE WAS NOTICED COMING FROM THE HOOD AREA AND FLAMES WERE PRESENT. THE FIRE OCCURRED IN THE ELECTRICAL HOUSING UNIT FOR THE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH HOLDS THE BRAKE FLUID. THE UNIT AND BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER MELTED. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FIRE WAS NOTICED. THIS WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVING UNUSUAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO PERFORM AN INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO FLAMES AFTER BEING PARKED FOR AN HOUR. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE SERVICE DEALER REMOVED THE CRUISE CONTROL ONE YEAR AGO BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL OF FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND DETERMINED THE FIRE STARTED IN THE FRONT ENGINE COMPARTMENT UNDER THE HOOD. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ALSO DETERMINED ALL OF THE WIRE HARNESSES WERE INTACT.
I HAD A 2000 MODEL F-150 TRUCK THAT BURNED IN NOV. 2003. THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. *JB
ENGINE FIRE. *JB
DROVE TRUCK TO TOWN FOR GROCERIES, CAME HOME PARKED TRUCK. WITHIN 20 MINTUES FLAMES WERE COMING FROM INSIDE BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT. FIRE BURNED THROUGH PORT HOLE INTO BED OF TRUCK. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED. TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS. WONDERING IF CURISE CONTROL COULD HAVE CAUSED OTHER COMPONENTS TO SHORT AND START FIRE OR IF THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH WIRING ON THIS MODEL. THIS TRUCK WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND WAS COMPLETELY STOCK.
THE STARTER BROKE OFF OF MOUNT CAUSING BOLTS TO BREAK OFF IN TRANSMISSION HOUSING, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE SOLENOID 2 TIMES AND HAD TO KEEP TIGHTENING IT OFF BECAUSE BOLT ON IT BROKE, NOW I HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE TO DRILL THE BROKEN BOLTS OUT & I DO NOT HAVE VERY MUCH MONEY TO GET FIXED , I JUST SPENT $189.00 FOR A STARTER! *JB
2000 FORD F-150 CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED COMPLETELY. TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING AT THE TIME AMD HAD NOT BEEN RUN FOR OVER 24 HOURS. FIRE STARTED AT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO FIRE DEPARTMENT. I WAS NOT HOME AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE.
THE HARLEY DAVIDSON F150 WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR APPROX. 4 HOURS, WHEN A NEIGHBOR INFORMED ME MY TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. THE TRUCK WAS DESTROYED FROM THE FRONT BUMPER TO THE DASH. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT STATED THE FIRE STARTED AROUND THE WIRING HARNESS AROUND THE MATER CYLINDER. *JB
DT: THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2005. THIS OCCURRED WITHOUT PREVIOUS WARNING. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT IT STARTED IN THE STEERING COLUMN AREA BECAUSE THE MOST OF THE HEAT WAS COMING FROM THERE. HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE BEFORE. HE WAS UNSURE IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON. *AK

WHILE DRIVNG TO WORK ODMETER DIGITAL MILEAGE DISPLAY FADS OUT ALONG WITH DIGITAL DISPALY ON RADIO. POWER SIDE VIEW MIRRORS NO LONGER WORK ON BOTH SIDE. NOR DOES THE POWER DOOR LOCKS. HAVE NOT TAKE IN YET FOR REPAIRS. AWAITING RESPONSE FROM FORD DEALERSHIP.

2000 FORD F150 SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. EACH TIME THE REPAIR/REPLACE A COMPONENT BUT THE PROBLEM RECURS. THE LAST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER THEY REWIRED CERTAIN ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. *NM
AT APPROXIMATELY 10:45 PM EDT WE WERE NOTIFIED BY NEIGHBORS THAT OUR 2000 FORD F-150 WAS ON FIRE IN OUR DRIVEWAY. THE FIRE DESTROYED THE TRUCK AND CAUSED HEAT DAMAGE TO THE HOUSE DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY. THE HOUSE DID NOT BURN. *JB
DRIVING DOWN SMOOTH ROAD,ENGINE QUIT WITH NO WARNING BUT THE THEFT LIGHT FLASHED AND THE SPEEDOMETER FLASHED. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE WITHOUT A PROBLEM. THEN AFTER SHUTTING ENGINE OFF LATER IT WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START. AFTER TOWING TO SHOP FOR REPAIR IT STARTS OK BUT SPEEDOMETER SHOWS DASHES AFTER THE TURN ON LIGHT TEST. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHEN I HAD PULLED OUT IN TRAFFIC I WOULD BE DEAD. *NM
