LIKE EVERYONE ELSE I AM HAVING SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. ALSO WITH THE TRANSMISSION GETTING STUCK IN NEUTRAL. DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND MANY OTHERS AND FORDS UNWILLINGNESS TO FESS UP TO THEIR MISTAKES THEY HAVE LOST BUSINESS FROM ME AND MY FAMILY FOR LIFE. *AK
THE CAR WILL DOWNSHIFT AND THE RPM WILL INCREASE TO 3500-4000 WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT RANDOM, AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, AND FREQUENTLY. I TOOK TO TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION CHECKED OUT OK. I HAVE READ MANY SIMULAR COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THIS SITE. WHY HASN'T ACTION BEEN TAKEN TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT? DT
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY GIVEN SPEED TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP AND CAUSE VIBRATION IN VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *AK
I BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY MUSTANG SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. I WAS UNABLE TO GET ANY ASSISTANCE AND THOUGHT I WAS VERY STRANGE THIS CAR WOULD EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS DUE TO IT'S MILEAGE AND AGE. THE CAR WOULD SHUDDER AT EXACT SPEED INTERVALS AND VIBRATE. I HAVE PUT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND FOUND THIS WEBSITE. I THEN FOUND THE PROBLEM LISTED ON YOUR WEBSITE. I HAVE WRITTEN A LETTER TO THE MFG. AND AM VERY UPSET CAR OWNERS WERE NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. IT COULD HAVE SAVED ME TIME AND MONEY. I FEEL FORD IS RESPONSIBLE AND THAT THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART/ASSEMBLY. *AK

WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY WHEN TRANSMISSION KEPT SLIPPING WHILE SHIFTING INTO GEAR. VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOWDOWN. KEPT APPLYING GAS. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP & MECHANIC INDICATED TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO SLIPPAGE.*AK
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL APPEAR TO SLIP OUT OF OVER-DRVIE INTO NEUTRAL AT HIGHER SPEEDS. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE ENGINE RPM WILL INCREASE BY APPROXIMATELY 3000 RPM. ALSO AT SLOWER SPEEDS THE SHIFT BETWEEN 1ST & 2ND HAS BEEN SO HARD THAT IT FEELS AS IF YOU HAVE BEEN HIT IN THE REAR. THE SLOW SPEED PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ONLY 2 TIMES. THE HIGH SPEED PROBLEM OCCURS QUITE REGULARLY. *AK

VEHICLE MAKES GROWLING NOISE FROM THE REAR END, DURING ACCELERATION OR TURNING A CORNER, DEALER FIXED FOR THE FIRST TIME, PROBLEM STARTED OCCURRING AGAIN. * ET
I HAVE HAD THIS TRANSMISSION REBUILT BY FORD 2 TIMES SO FAR AND THIS SAME PROBLEN KEEPS OCCURRING, AND IT SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION AND WHILE OVERDRIVE IS ENGAGED IT WILL UPSHIFT AND DOWN SHIFT IN BETWEEN 3 AND 4 GEAR DOES REALLY NOT MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE TRAVELING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN ..... SHOULD THE MANUFACTURER BE HELD REPOSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM AS TO MAKE IT A RECALL ??? THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED BETWEEN 23,000 MILES AND THEN AGAIN AROUND 35,000 MILES. *AK
CAR WOULD LOOSE POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION WHEN COLD CAUSING CAR TO NOT ACCELERATE WHEN ENTERING TRAFFIC SITUATIONS.
SINCE ORIGINAL PURCHASE, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS. DEALER COULDN'T FIND PROBLEM. ONCE PROBLEM WAS FOUND WARRANTY EXPIRED.
THIS VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALL #95V138000 IN THE NHTSA DATA BASE, THE ODOMETER READS MILES, BUT IT IS REGEISTERED IN KILOMETERS. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
TORQUE CONVERTOR WENT OUT WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT THEN A YEAR LATER IT WENT OUT AGAIN
DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTER, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MALFUCTIONED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL, WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. DEALER REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER. PROBLEM REOCCURRING. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *AK
TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION.
VEHICLE STARTED TREMBLING WHEN SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR AT APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MPH. TORQUE CONVERTER IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS A PROBLEM. PROBLEM IS WORST AND THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES INTO REVERSE WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN FOURTH GEAR/OVERDRIVE, IT SHIFTS ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND JERKS FORWARD. THE RPM GOES UP TO 3500. DEALER STATES IT'S A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM W/ TORQUE CONVERTER, AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING,THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN WHEN SHIFTING. DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT THERE IS AN UNEXPECTED LOSS OF SPEED DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT DELAY IN SHIFTING, THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION. *SLC
