ENGINE GOES TO FUEL THROTTLE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN & ALSO WHEN AT A FULL STOP ON ITS OWN I HAVE TO EITHER SHUT OFF IGNITION OR IF DRIVING PUT VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL THEN HIT THROTTLE TO STOP THE HIGH RPM EXTREMELY UNSAFE. HAVE NOT DRIVEN CAR IN OVER TWO MONTHD
ON DEC 15 2016 APPROXIMATELY 8:15 P.M I WENT TO THE 711 A MINUTE UP THE ROAD FROM MY HOUSE. AS I WAS LEAVING THE STORE TO GET ON DOUBLE CREEK DR TO COME BACK HOME I WAS ENTERING THE STREET TO GET IN THE FAR LEFT TURNING LANE TO MAKE A U TURN AT THE LIGHT TO GO BACK TO MY HOUSE . I WAS SLOWLY COME OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY OF 711 PICKED UP SPEED ABOUT 15 -20 MPH . WHEN SUDDENLY THE GAS THROTTLE STARTED PICKING UP SPEED . I WAS HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE RED LIGHT THE GAS PEDDLE QUICKLY PICKED UP SPEED . THERE WAS TRAFFIC THAT HAD A GREEN LIGHT GOING HORIZONTALLY, I TRIED EVERYTHING TO TRY AND STOP MY VEHICLE . IN ORDER TO AVOID GETTING T BONED I TURNED MY OUT OF CONTROL CAR FROM THE THROTTLE BEING STUCK TO THE FAR RIGHT SCARED FOR MY LIFE . THERE WAS A VEHICLE TURNING LEFT AND I HIT THE DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE SIDE . WHEN THAT HAPPENED . I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE SLOW DOWN THE CAR AND PULL INTO THE STORE. WITH IN A FEW MINUTES THE POLICE OFFICERS WERE THERE . THERE WAS DAMAGE TO BOTH OUR VEHICLES . MY MUSTANG WILL BE TOTALED . THE OTHER GENTLEMAN TOOK OFF IN AN AMBULANCE . THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM THANK GOD NOBODY WAS KILLED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS THE CAR AND WE ARE GOING TO REQUEST AND ASK THAT FORD DO A DATA DOWN LOAD OR INSURANCE COMPANY . SO FAR FORD DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MATTER . WE OPENED UP A CASE WITH FORD AND WAS QUICKLY BLEW OFF. I AM NOT BLOWING THIS OFF IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND A CHILD OF GOD . I WAS PROTECTED FROM SOMETHING THAT COULD OF BEEN DEATH. MY CHILDREN HAVE BEEN IN THIS CAR OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS AND THIS COULD OF HAPPENED AT ANY TIME OF ME GOING FASTER SPEEDS LIKE ON THE FREEWAY. FORD NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND I'M NOT STOPPING TILL THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY , BEFORE SOMEBODY IS KILLED . *TR
MUSTANG IS STUCK IN LIMP MODE. CAN NOT REV ENGINE ABOVE 5 MILES PER HOUR.
MY 05 V6 MUSTANG'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS GOING OUT. THE TACTOMITER STAYS AT ZERO AT ALL TIMES AND THE SPEEDOMITER VARIES. AT TIME MY SPEEDOMITER ACTS NORMAL THEN IT WILL GO BELLOW ZERO. MY SPEEDOMITER WILL FIX ITS SELF AFTER 10 - 15 MINUTES OF THE CAR BEING TURNED OFF. I HAVE NOTICED, ON THE INTERNET, THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY EXACT YEAR MODEL EVEN IF THEY HAVE REALLY LOW MILAGE. I BELIEVE THAT FORD SHOULD RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE NOT BEING ABLE TO TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING IS QUITE THE SAFTEY HAZARD. I BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY REASON WHY FOR HASNT RECALLED IT YET, IS BECAUSE THEY CHARGE $500 - $800 AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
THE SPEEDOMETER IS ERRATIC. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS I AM DRIVING 40 MILES OVER THE SPEED I AM AT AND IN IDLE IT SOMETIMES SHOWS THE SPEED NEEDLE BELOW THE ZERO. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS I AM DRIVING 20MPH UNDER WHAT I THINK I'M DRIVING AT. RESULTING IN 4 TICKETS. I AM PAYING OVER $500 TO HAVE FORD REPLACE THE CLUSTER.
THE GAS PEDAL STICK CAUSE BYE THROTTLE BODY COULD NOT STOP THE CAR.JUST ABOUT HIT A CAR WHEN I WAS DRIVING ..... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME JAMMED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND CRASHED INTO A GRATE. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FROM THE CRASH SITE, BUT ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING AN INVESTIGATION OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000. *TR
3 INCIDENTS: 1.NEEDED TO USE THE PASSING GEAR AND THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING WITH THE PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR. AS I WAS ABOUT TO GO TO NEUTRAL THE PEDAL RELEASED. DEALER DIAGNOSIS WAS TO CLEAN THROTTLE BODY AND FUEL SYSTEM AT A COST OF $160 2. A WEEK LATER, DURING MODERATE ACCELERATION ENTERING AN INTERSTATE ON-RAMP, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT SO I LET IT GO AND EVENTUALLY THE PEDAL KICKED BACK 3. IN EARLY MAY, DID IT AGAIN DURING LIGHT ACCELERATION ON A SURFACE ROAD, THIS TIME I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL, TURNED TO A SIDE STREET TO STOP, PUT IT IN PARK AND SHUT OFF ENGINE. UPON RESTART, IT WAS OK RETURNED CAR TO DEALER ON MAY 9, LEFT CAR FOR A WEEK. THEY SAID 2 THINGS, THEY AGREED THE FLOOR CARPETS WERE NOT AT FAULT AND WHEN ONE WAS AVAILABLE, THEY WOULD PUT SOME SORT OF RECORDER DEVICE ON THE CAR THAT I WOULD ACTIVATE ONLY WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. TODAY IS JULY 28, 2012 AND THEY HAVE NOT PRODUCED THE DEVICE. OCCASIONALLY, WHEN ROAD CONDITIONS ARE OK, I TRY TO TRIGGER THE CONDITION, BUT IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. I'M NOT A BELIEVER THAT MECHANICAL THINGS FIX THEMSELVES I'VE SEEN MULTIPLE ARTICLES ON THE INTERNET ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH 2005-2006 MUSTANGS AND ALSO FORD RECALLS OF OTHER MAKES/MODELS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS REGARDING ACCELERATOR PEDALS AND AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL MALFUNCTIONS CAUSING RAPID ACCELERATION NEEDLESS TO SAY, I DRIVE THE CAR WITH MUCH CAUTION AND A LOT LESS ENJOYMENT. *TR
I WAS SLOWLY TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE (CARS ON BOTH SIDES AND A CAR IN FRONT OF ME). I WAS IN A PARKING LOT TRAVELING AT IDLE SPEED. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE ENGINE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO RUN UP. I IMMEDIATELY INCREASED MY PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING SO FAST THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE BURNING RUBBER. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR INTO PARK. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT FULL SPEED. I SHUT OFF THE IGNITION. THE ENGINE STOPPED. I WAITED A MOMENT AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING. MY FOOT REMAINED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CAR RESTATED NORMALLY. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED. IT HAS NOT RECURRED SINCE THE ORIGINAL INCIDENT ON MARCH 1. *TR
MY 05 MUSTANG GT IS A STANDARD AND I WAS COMING OUT OF A CONSTRUCTION ZONE IN A TOWN OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY. I WAS GOING ABOUT 20 MPH IN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE, AND PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO SPEED UP. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OF THE GAS PEDDLE TO SHIFT GEARS I NOTICED THE PEDDLE DIDN'T COME UP WITH MY FOOT, AND THAT THE CAR WAS STILL ACCELERATING. AT THIS TIME I WENT AHEAD AND SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, AND WAS NOW GOING ABOUT 60 MPH. I THEN TRIED TO JAM MY FOOT UNDER THE GAS PEDDLE TO LIFT IT UP. I'M NOT SURE IF ME TRYING TO GET A LITTLE BIT OF MY SHOE UNDER THE PEDDLE TO LIFT IT WORKED, OR IF IT CAME BACK UP ON IT'S OWN. BUT IT DID COME BACK UP, AND IT ONLY LASTED A FEW SECONDS. BUT IF COMING TO A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN A CAR WITH 300 HP. I HAVE NOT TALKED TO FORD GARAGE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM YET. AS IT JUST HAPPENED LESS THEN AN HOUR AGO. INSTEAD I LOOKED UP THE ISSUE ON THE INTERNET, AND FOUND SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS WERE ABOUT FAMILY MEMBERS WITH THIS ISSUE, BECAUSE THEIR INCIDENT RESULTED IN DEATH FOR THAT PERSON. SEVERAL OTHERS HAVE ALSO STATED THAT FORD GARAGE WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND DID NOTHING TO THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND WHEN HIS FOOT WAS SLIGHTLY POSITIONED ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO RAPIDLY ACCELERATE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED CONTINUOUSLY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN CAUSING DIFFICULTY IN GAINING STEERING CONTROL; AS A RESULT TO THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO SEVERAL BUSHES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE WITHOUT INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,950.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT SWERVED THE VEHICLE TO AVOID TRAFFIC AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A BROKEN RIB. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED DESTROYED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
FORD 05 MUSTANG SPEEDOMETER READS ERRATIC. READS 100 MPH WHILE DRIVING AT 40MPH. NOT CONSISTENT RESETS ITSELF AND COMES PROBLEM COMES BACK AGAIN. RESEARCHED ON MUSTANG FORMS ON WEB, SEVERAL MUSTANG OWNERS ARE REPORTING THIS. STARTED IN JAN AND ONGOING. *LN
WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED THE ENGINE REVS UP AND THE CAR ACCELERATES BEFORE STARTING TO SLOW DOWN. THIS HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES RECENTLY. *TR

ON NOVEMBER 25, 2010 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE IN FRONT ALTHOUGH THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 78,250.
WHEN SITTING STILL AT STOP LIGHTS MY MUSTANG GT 2005 WOULD LUNG FORWARD WHILE I STILL HAD MT FOOT ON BRAKE. ALSO AFTER MAKING A ROLLING STOP I WOULD PRESS DOWN ON ACCELERATOR TO GO AND I WOULD NOT GO I HAD TO PUSH IT REALLY HARD TO GO. I ALMOST GOT HIT A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN TAKING OFF ACROSS TRAFFIC LANES. ALSO THE JUMPING FORWARD WHILE STOPPED AT LIGHTS I ALMOST HIT CARS IN FRONT OF ME I HAD TO MAKE SURE AND STAY AT LEAST A CAR LENGTH AWAY WHILE STOPPED. I TOOK IT IN TO A FORD DEALER AND HE SAID MYMASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS BAD AND MY THROTTLE BODY,THAT CONTROLS MY THROTTLE. OVER 600.00 DOLLARS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED IN FEBRUARY OF 2009 WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED AN UNSPECIFIED PART. ON MAY 25, 2008, WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND PROCEED THROUGH TRAFFIC. SHE WAS ABLE TO STEER INTO A PARKING LOT AND PLACE THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. SHE WAITED FOR A WHILE BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING TO HER RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART THEY REPLACED COULD BE DEFECTIVE AND MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE TO RECUR. THEY FURTHER STATED THAT IF THE REPAIR IS ELECTRICAL, IT COULD BE VERY COSTLY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHENEVER THE CONTACT ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE TO THE DESIRED SPEED. SHE NOTICED THAT THE MAINTENANCE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THREE TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS, MY DAUGHTER'S MUSTANG EXPERIENCED UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. THE ENGINE RACED WITHOUT PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE BRAKE WAS USELESS. TWICE SHE WAS IN TRAFFIC AND NARROWLY AVOIDED A CRASH. THIS WEEK MY WIFE WAS USING THE CAR AND IT DID THE SAME THING, AND SHE CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. SHE WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHEN IT HAPPENED, HITTING A POLE. THEN, WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE, THE CAR RACED FORWARD. AGAIN THE BRAKE WAS INEFFECTIVE. TWO YEARS AGO, THIS WAS REPORTED TO A FORD DEALER, WHO DIDN'T FIND, NOR FIX, ANYTHING. STRANGELY, THEY NOW HAVE NO RECORD OF THE PROBLEM BEING REPORTED. HOWEVER, FORD DOES. *TR
WHILE GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, THE ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK, TAPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY AND RELEASE IT ..STILL ACCELERATING. RPM'S WAS BURIED IN THE RED ZONE THE WHOLE TIME AND YOU COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. TRIED PRESSING ON THE BRAKES, BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESULTS. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF TO THE BERM ON THE FREEWAY, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND COAST TO A STOP. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO CLAIMS THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY ERROR CODES DURING DIAGNOSTICS BUT COULD RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID IT MY FLOOR MATS HAD GOTTEN UP UNDER THERE. NOT BUYING IT THE 2004 MUSTANGS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
SPEEDOMETER STICKS IN MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG. IT SEEMS TO DO THIS WHEN IT IS COLD OUT. IT DOES THIS ALL THE TIME. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED. *TR
ON 7 MARCH 2007, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT OF 55, MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG ACCELERATED TO OVER 100 MPH. THE GAS PEDAL WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND FIND A PLACE TO PULL OVER. I HELD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO TRY TO SLOW DOWN, BUT THIS ONLY CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO FISHTAIL. I FINALLY MADE IT TO A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY AND PUT IT IN PARK, BUT THE ACCELERATOR STAYED ON THE FLOOR CAUSING MY TIRE TO SPIN THROWING GRAVEL AND THEN THEY BEGAN TO SMOKE. I KILLED THE ENGINE AND HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO BE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER. ACCELERATOR NEVER LIFTED BACK TO NORMAL POSITION. CAR IS CURRENTLY BEING CHECKED AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AUTOMATICALLY DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE SPEED INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE THREE TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HELP. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL BACK IF THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 20,000.*AK
I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MPH, APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. THERE WERE ABOUT THREE CARS AHEAD OF ME. AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED AND BUCKED 3 TIMES RIGHT INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THROUGHOUT, BUT DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THAT MONDAY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, THEREFORE NO ASSESSMENT WAS MADE. THEY SUGGESTED THE AFTER MARKET FLOOR MAT I WAS USING COULD HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN THE CAUSE FOR THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I DISAGREE, THE FLOOR MAT WAS VERY HEAVY AND DID NOT SHIFT ABOUT AND WAS NOT IN THE WAY OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL; ALTHOUGH, I HAVE REMOVED THE FLOOR MAT. ANY FURTHER INCIDENTS WILL BE REPORTED. *NM
ON DECEMBER 30, 2005, MY DAUGHTER (AGE 17) WAS PREPARING TO STOP FOR A RED LIGHT, AS SHE HIT THE BRAKES, SHE STATED: "THE CAR ACCELERATED (FULL THROTTLE), AND WOULD NOT STOP. SHE CALLED US BY PHONE (CRYING) AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT. WE ASKED IF SHE WAS OK AND WHETHER SHE COULD DRIVE THE CAR. SHE SAID YES. SHE DROVE THE CAR BACK HOME (APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES) WHERE WE (FATHER AND MOTHER) QUESTIONED HER ABOUT THE INCIDENT. SHE STATED: "SHE WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH AND WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES THE CAR ACCELERATED. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT". AT THIS POINT, MY WIFE AND I BELIEVED SHE SOMEHOW HIT BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY. SHE STATED EMPHATICALLY, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AND SHE WOULD NEVER DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. ON MONDAY JANUARY 2ND, AT APPROXIMATELY 3:00 PM, I WAS DRIVING THE SUBJECT VEHICLE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR STUCK FULL THROTTLE. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL I TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION. I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE OF THE HIGHWAY. I RESTARTED THE CAR (FOR FEAR OF BEING RUN OVER BY ON-COMING TRAFFIC, RAINING, DECREASED VISIBILITY), PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PLACED THE CAR IN GEAR TO GATHER MOMENTUM, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, AND ROLLED INTO A PARKING LOT. THE THROTTLE REMAINED OPEN. I CONTACTED FORD WHO PICKED UP THE VEHICLE. TEAM FORD COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND WANTED TO RETURN THE CAR. I REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE CAR FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: - CAR FAILED IN FULL-THROTTLE POSITION (FAIL-SAFE POSITION SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO-THROTTLE) - ERROR CODES DID NOT IDENTIFY THIS CONDITION - (FORD HAD NOT INCLUDED THIS IN THEIR FAILURE MODES ANALYSIS) - REPLACEMENT PARTS MAY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM - - NEEDED ASSURANCES FROM FORD IN WRITING THAT THE ROOT CAUSE TO THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN IDENTIFIED AND CORRECTED. FORD CORPORATE IS SENDING AN ENGINEER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. *JB
