The contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the front driver’s side seat air bag deployed upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
I HAVE HAD THIS RECALL FIXED LAST FEB. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS COMPLETED AND PRESTON SAYS THAT IT WAS COMPLETED ON 2/16/19 AT PRESTON FORD IN HERMITAGE AND THE INFORMATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED AND CORRECT ON THE FORD WEBSITE.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNED A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN AND HIT HER ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE PILLAR. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT TOOK HIS WIFE TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE SUFFERED A CONCUSSION AND TWO HERNIATED DISCS; IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE OTHER DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED (#159951319-M). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED BUT HAD NOT OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE REPLACED IN DECEMBER OF 2018 UNDER A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,105.

THERE WERE INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE DEPLOYMENT DUE TO THE CONTACT PLACING HER HAND BEFORE HER FACE. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT SOUGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NALLEY FORD SANDY SPRINGS (7555 ROSWELL RD, ATLANTA, GA 30350, (678) 809-5711) TO BE REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V001000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE DEALER DECLINED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, STATING THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE ALREADY DEPLOYED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL NOTICES FROM FORD REGARDING THIS RECALL SINCE OCTOBER 2016. AT THAT TIME, I CONTACTED SAM PACK FORD CARROLLTON, TX DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. SINCE THEN, I'VE MADE THREE MORE ATTEMPTS WITH NO RETURN CALL FROM THEM.

I RECEIVED A CARD IN THE MAIL TOO CHECK ON MY CAR IF IT HAD A TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL
TAKATA RECALL: FORD HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE ACCEPTABLE AIRBAG REMEDY YET THAT CAN BE IMPLEMENTED BY CUSTOMER. THEY SEND NOTICES BUT ONCE CONTACTED ARE UNABLE TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR
I AM ON ACTIVE DUTY AND IS STATIONED OVER SEAS LIVING IN GERMANY. I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR THREE YEARS AND NO FORD HERE CAN NOT GET THE PARTS I NEED FOR MY RECALL.
GOT A RECALL ON BOTH AIR BAGS TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE IT DONE COULD NOT GET IT DONE FOR MONTHS THE FIRST AIR BAG THEN WENT TO GET SECOND RECALL ON THE 2ND AIR BAG COULD NOT GET APPT. FOR MONTHS AND THEN THEY DID NOT HAVE THE AIR BAGS FOR MONTHS NOR DID THEY BOTHER TO CALL WHEN THEY CAME . WAS NEVER ASKED ABOUT GETTING A RENTAL AT ALL. STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH AIR BAGS NOT BEING FIXED GOING ON SEVERAL MONTHS MORE STILL NO RENTAL CAR STILL DRIVING MY CAR STILL A PROB,EMBWITH AIR BAGS NOT BEING FIXED AND DANGEROUS. NO RENTAL CAR STILL GOING IN ON OCT. 31 FOR THEM TO FIX AIRBAGS BUT STILL NO RENTAL CAR IN DANGER WHEN DRIVING CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PARTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE, BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHICH DEALER HAD THE PARTS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL, RECEIVED NOTICE ABOUT FAULTY AIR BAGS IN 2016. REPLACED DRIVE SIDE IN DEC 2016. PASSENGER SIDE NOT AVAILABLE YET. RECEIVED NOTICE OF PARTS AVAILABLE FEB 2018. CALL FOR REPAIR MARCH 2018. WAS TOLD PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR RECALL CUSTOMERS YET. I WAS PUT ON A LIST FOR THE "RECALL PARTS" AND THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT WHEN AVAILABLE. CALLED AGAIN IN MAY MADE APPOINTMENT TO GET GET REPLACED. WHEN ARRIVED AT DEALER, I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE THE PART PUT NOT FOR ME BECAUSE THERE IS A DIFFERENT PROCESS NOW TO ORDER "RECALL PARTS". I WAS PUT ON ANOTHER LIST. CALLED AND CAME IN AGAIN AUG 10 2018. WAS TOLD THAT I WAS NOT A THE "NEW" LIST TO ORDER "RECALL PARTS". I WAS TOLD THE PROCESS HAS CHANGED 5 TIMES SO THE OTHER PROCESS DID NOT COUNT. I WAS INFORMED BY SERVICE MANAGER THAT HE WOULD NOT RISK HIS FAMILY IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. WAS TOLD ONLY USE THE BACK SEATS. THIS IS NOT PRACTICAL FOR DAILY USE AND PUTS UNDUE RISK TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. FORD HAS BREACHED IT'S DUTY TO PREFORM NEED REPAIRS IN A TIMELY MANNER. ALL REPAIR ATTEMPTS WERE MADE AT FORD OF ESCONDIDO, CA. AFTER I STATED I WOULD LOG A FORMAL COMPLAINT THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS ABLE TO FIND THE PART AND WILL COMPLETE REPAIR. THIS JUST SEEMS LIKE AN ATTEMPT TO NOT FIX THE ISSUE DUE TO FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS.

MY PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON WHEN ON ONE WAS THERE. THEN IT STARTED TURNING ON THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE DASH. IT DIDN'T MATTER WHAT WAS IN THE SEAT IF ANYTHING THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. I HAVE BEEN SITTING IN THE SEAT AND ONE MINUTE NO LIGHT THEN THE NEXT LIGHT IS ON INCLUDING ON THE DASH. DOESN'T MATTER HIGHWAY CITY OR HOW FAR YOU DRIVE.

MY AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR TWO YEARS FORD WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG AFTER ONE YEAR EARLIER THIS YEAR THEY SENT ME A LETTER THAT SAID THE PARTS WERE INTO FIX THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG I CALLED EVERY FORD DEALER AROUND AND NO ONE HAD ANY PARTS TO FIX MY AIRBAG I WAS TOLD BY DEALERS KEEP CALLING US BACK UNTIL WE SEE IF WE HAVE SOME PARTS IN YESTERDAY I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME MY NAME SHOULD'VE BEEN PUT ON A LIST AND THAT I HAD FIVE MORE WEEKS TO WAIT I HAVE ESSENTIALLY BEEN UNABLE TO USE MY CAR TO TRANSPORT ANY PASSENGERS FOR OVER TWO YEARS I HAVE CONTACTED FORD SEVERAL TIMES AND NOT RECEIVED ANY KIND OF RESPONSE
