The driver And passengers door opens while driving
Rear View Camera, distorted or doesn't work at all at times. This has tried to be corrected 5 or 6 times at dealership, works for awhile, then happens again. Dealer does not give me a copy of what was done to attempt to fix problem. Now I see this same issue is for other Ford vehicles, just doesn't include the Mustang.
Ford is aware of the AC Evap Core issue on the 2015-2017 mustangs. This is a costly repair which comes out to $4,000 every year. This then causes failures on all other AC parts. There have been many complaints regarding this issue and no remedy has been issued in 8 years.
Backup Camera doesn’t work after purchasing a new camera from dealership and new wires. dealership said they didn’t know what was wrong after 3 months of working on car and new parts purchased
Weld between my clutch pedal and pedal assembly broke causing car to stall out in the road. This is a common issue with 2015-2017 manual mustangs.
Ford issued a notice in 2018 TSB 18-2256 stating that they knew evaporator cores were leaking refrigerant into the cabin of the cars but did not issue a recall. I know this issue may not lead directly lead to an injury from an accident but the system failure does release toxic chemicals that should not be in the cabin of a vehicle. Because this is a health risk to the occupants of the affected vehicles there should be a recall. I have had my 2016 Ford Mustang in to the Ford mechanic no less than 4 times since I bought it in late 2016 and each time they came up with some new cause for my AC not working and each time the system failed again in less than 2 years. Each time the problem was a supposed refrigerant leak in some other component of the AC system. Now that they've run out of things to replace they have speculated that the most likely cause is a bad evaporator core. My suspicion is that the evaporator core has been the issue from the beginning. Since Ford didn't issue a recall I have been subjected to years of exposure to dangerous chemicals due to this issue. Please make for recall these vehicles for the safety of the occupants of the affected vehicles
The rearview can result in a blank or have distorted image. As in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000
Passenger door suddenly opens while driving even with doors locked . It’s all over in forums online. Ford won’t cover and sometimes won’t even fix the issue. Has happened on a few occasions already
UNKNOWN
Leaking evaporator core, seems to be very common with ‘15-‘17 Mustangs and Ford has done nothing about it.
Unknown nothing is wrong with vehicle. Back camera is working perfectly without blurry picture. This is a false statement
HVAC A/C stopped working. It is a known issue with these model mustangs
The bolts on engine valve cover come loose and back out over time causing the engine to leak oil
Consistent failure of mustang air conditioning evaporator consistent with Ford TSB18-2256. Evaporator has failed 3 times, leading to at least one A/C compressor replacement. Failed evaporators are not available. Vehicle has less the 40k miles. It is unsafe for driver during extremely hot days. The problem has been reproduced and serviced by ford dealerships. There were no major symptoms prior to failure. Just slowly degrading AC performance.
DOORS OPEN FLYING WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION
EVAPORATOR CORE LEAK
AIR CONDITIONING IS FAILING AFTER 60,000 MILES. SUSPECT IT IS THE ALREADY WELL DOCUMENTED EVAPORATOR CORE GOING BAD.
I HAVE A 2016 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE ECO-BOOST WHICH IS JUST RECENTLY STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY PASSENGER DOOR OPENING WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST INSTANCE HAPPENED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND THE LAST ONE HAPPENED LAST WEEK ON JULY 22, 2020. THE SENSOR SYSTEM IN MY CAR DID ALERT US THAT THE DOOR WAS OPEN. I HAVE READ ON THE NEWS THAT THE MUSTANGS ARE BEING RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT WHEN I CHECKED MY VIN I SEE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THEIRS REPAIRED UNDER A RECALL SINCE IT IS HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE WE WERE COMING TO AN INTERSECTION AND WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR THE STOP LIGHT. THE SECOND INSTANCE WE WERE GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH. WE HAD TO GO INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE TO SHUT THE DOOR. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE WE HAD THE TOP DOWN AND IN THE SECOND INSTANCE WE HAD THE TOP UP AND THE WINDOWS ROLLED UP.
THE AC IN MY 2016 FORD MUSTANG HAS STOPPED WORKING AND I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE TO FIND THAT MANY 2016 FORD MUSTANG OWNERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. MY CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND ONLY HAS 20,000 MILES ON IT YET IS HAVING THIS MAJOR ISSUE.
THE EVAPORATOR CORE ON MY CAR HAS A LEAK AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, OUT OF WARRANTY AND WITH ONLY 4000 MILES ON IT, FOR $1800. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT; FORUMS AROUND THE INTERNET ARE FILLED WITH HUNDREDS OF PAGES OF CONSUMERS WITH IDENTICAL STORIES. FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM (TSB #: TSB18-2166, NHTSA ID #: 10143077), BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR BUYBACK PROGRAM, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THOUSANDS OF CARS ARE LEAKING R134, A TOXIC CHEMICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY HAZARD, INTO THE AIR. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE IF CONSUMERS DON'T HAVE THE SPARE NEARLY $2000 TO SPEND ON REPLACING THE CORE, MEANING THE OLD ONE WILL CONTINUE TO LEAK INDEFINITELY.
AC HAS STOPPED WORKING... AGAIN! CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY. NOW OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF AGE. CAR HAS 23K MILES 2 TIMES FULL REFRIGERANT CHARGE HAS VENTED TO ATMOSPHERE, A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW! THOUSANDS, IF NOT TENS OF THOUSAND MUSTANGS ARE AFFECTED
ENGINE COOLING NOT WORKING. HOSES PROBABLY DEFECTIVE. FIRE RISK.
A/C STARTED TO BLOW HOT AIR. THE AUTO REPAIR STATED ITS THE EVAPORATOR NEED REPLACE, ITS A COSTLY JOB AND VERY COMMON.
EVAPORATOR CORE WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY ON THE AIR CONDITIONER
WHEN I HAVE MY FRONT RIGHT WINDOW DOWN ABOUT THREE INCHES AND ACCELERATE, I GET CAR EXHAUST INTO CABIN. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE EXHAUST MOVES FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE OF THE MOVING CAR INTO THE CAR TRUNK AND THEN INTO THE CABIN OF MY CAR. I FIRST NOTICED THIS DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT AND SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A NEW CAR SMELL. I HAD IT CHECKED AGAIN THREE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE BUT, AGAIN, MECHANIC HAD SAME OUTCOME. I FINALLY GOT FED UP WITH THE SMELL AND ASKED AGAIN 18 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. FORD SPENT WEEKS EXAMINING IT AND HAD A FORD TECHNICIAN ALSO EXAMINE THE CAR. FORD FOUND THE SMELL THIS TIME AND SAID ANOTHER MUSTANG LIKE MINE ALSO HAD THE SAME SMELL. FORD CLAIMED THE SMELL WAS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF MUSTANG. I HAD AN EXPERT TEST THE CAR SEVERAL HOURS ONE AFTERNOON (SEE PART OF REPORT ATTACHED). HE FOUND THAT CARBON MONOXIDE WAS MUCH HIGHER IN THE TRUNK THAN IN THE CABIN. HE FOUND LEVELS AS HIGH AS 411 PPM IN THE TRUNK AND 14 PPM IN THE CABIN. HE CONCLUDED THAT EXHAUST MOVED FROM EXHAUST PIPE TO CAR TRUNK TO CAR CABIN.
