HYDRALLIC FLUID LEAK DUE TO DEFECTIVE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER
ABS MODULE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT OWNER BELIEVES A MAJOR SAFETY FEATURE LIKE THIS SHOULD LAST THE LIFETIME OF THE CAR, ESPECIALLY WHEN REPAIRS COST $1200 OR MORE. MY MECHANIC (HONDA-TRAINED) SAID HE DID 5 ABS REPAIRS IN 3 WEEKS. WHY WAS THE ABS MODULE REDESIGNED IN 1996? PERHAPS A HIGHER -THAN- NORMAL FAILURE RATE TREND WAS NOTICED (JUST MY OPINION). PRE-1996 ACURA LEGENDS ALSO HAVE THE SAME ABS MODULE. *AK
ABS MODULATOR FAILED TWO TIMES.
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS GET OVERHEATED AND WARPED, CAUSING ALOT OF PULSATION IN THE STEERING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER CONTACTED AND ARE AWARE, BUT CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS ONGOING AND KEEPS OCCURRING. *AK
ABS DO NOT FUNCTION WHEN FLUID LEAKS OUT OF RESERVOIR, BUT THE STANDARD BRAKING STILL WORKS, THOUGH DIFFERENTLY ON WET ROADS. SEVERAL SERVICE BULLETINS EXIST REGARDING THIS PROBLEM.
ABS MODULATOR LEAKS BRAKE FLUID UNTIL EMPTY, THEN ABS LIGHT COMES ON.
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THERE WAS A PULSATION IN THE PEDAL AND IN THE STEERING WHEEL. ALSO, BRAKING ABILITY SLIGHTY DECREASED. DEALER SAID IT WAS WARPED ROTORS. *AK
