ON JANUARY 23,2020, COGGIN HONDA STARTED SENDING ME TEXT MESSAGES SAYING I HAD AND OPEN RECALL SCHEDULE FREE REPAIR NOW. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SCHEDULED ME AN APPOINTMENT. ON FEBRUARY 20,2020 I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE RECALL REPAIR. THEY SENT ME HOME IN AN UBER AND TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF AND SAID, THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN IT WAS READY. ABOUT 3PM I CALLED THEM AND ASKED IS MY CAR READY YET AND I WAS THEN INFORMED THIS IS A NEW RECALL AND THE PARTS WOULDN'T BE IN TIL AROUND MID MARCH. AMERICAN HONDA SENT ME AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL LETTER IN MARCH. IN THERE LETTER THEY ALSO SAID, IF AMERICAN HONDA OR THE DEALERSHIP HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE, WITHOUT CHARGE AND WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME TO CONTACT YOU.
FOR 20 YEARS HONDA HAS KNOWN ABOUT SUBSTANDARD/DEFECTIVE PARTS COMPRISING THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IN THEIR VEHICLES. TO DATE, THEY HAVE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS TO CORRECT THE DEFECTS. MY HONDA COUPE IS 20 YEARS OLD. HOW MUCH LONGER MUST I WAIT UNTIL THIS HAZARDOUS AIR BAG SYSTEM IS REPAIRED? IN 2014, MY VEHICLE WAS HIT FROM THE REAR WHILE STOPPED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE GOING 33 MPH AND MY AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I SUSTAINED INJURIES FROM THIS ACCIDENT.

THE HONDA SERVICE PEOPLE WON'T PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL PARTS ARE ORDERED SO NOW I WILL HAVE TO RENT MY OWN VEHICLE I WANTED TO KNOW IF THEY YOU WILL MAKE THEM REIMBURSE ME, I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS DO I'M JUST FOLLOWING UP LIKE THE LETTER SAYS TO DO THEY WON'T HAVE IT FIXED WITHIN SIXTY DAYS .
HONDA DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE RECALLED AIRBAGS IN MY CAR. DEALER CLAIMS THAT HONDA IS NOT RELEASING THE PART UNTIL NEXT YEAR. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THEM TO FULFILL THE REQUEST TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS, BUT THEY HAVEN'T RESPONDED.

WARRING LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG REMAINS ON, AT ALL TIMES.
SRS LIGHT CAME ON WHILE STATIONARY AT HOME PARKED. I WENT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT HAS A 7-3 CODE FOR 'INTERNAL FAILURE'. THEY ADVISED ME TO PAY $1056 TO REPLACE COMPUTER. THEY SAID THIS ONLY COMES ON WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN ACCIDENT. I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AS WELL AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED. THEY TOLD ME MY AIRBAGS MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY. TWO YEARS AGO MY SRS LIGHT HAD CAM ON AND THEY SAID IT WAS FOR SEAT BELTS AND THEY COVERED IT. WHY WOULD THIS NOT BE COVERED AS WELL. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHEN I SEARCHED ON GOOGLE PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM.
THE SRS SIGN IS ON SINCE I BOUGHT IT FROM ANOTHER PERSON, THERE WAS A HONDA ACCORD REP FEW DAYS BACK, AND HE SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE FINE AND ARE IN WORKING CONDITION BUT STILL, SINCE ITS RELATED TO SAFETY, I DONT KNOW....IF ITS REALLY FINE AND ARE IN A WORKING CONDITION..
TAKATA RECALL: DAUGHTER SUSTAINED A MEDICAL EMERGENCY WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT WHEREIN SHE LOST CONSCIOUSNESS, HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER -- PRESUMABLY NOT AT A HIGH SPEED. DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT GO OFF BUT PASSENGER AIRBAG DID, DESPITE NO ONE, AND NOTHING, BEING IN THE SEAT. VIN IS NOT ON RECALL LIST (WHICH MYSTERIOUSLY ONLY GOES BACK TO MID-2001). CALLED HONDA MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY WILL NOT INSPECT CAR, AND DO NOT CARE TO INVESTIGATE ISSUE BECAUSE THE VIN IS NOT CURRENTLY ON THE RECALL LIST. IS THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG FAULTY (SHOULD IT HAVE GONE OFF), OR WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE FAULTY (SHOULD IT NOT HAVE GONE OFF-- I WAS TOLD THE LATTER AT THE BODY SHOP)? THE CAR IS NOT WORTH FIXING GIVEN THE FACT THAT ONE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ALONE COSTS APPROX A COUPLE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

TAKATA RECALL A HEAD ON COLLISION, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT THE DRIVER SIDE DID NOT.
PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH NOTHING IN IT. DRIVERS AIRBAG, DID NOT DEPLOY , HAVING AN ACCIDENT AT 30 MILES AN HOUR, STRAIGHT ON, REAR ENDED AN SUV. THE SIDE SEAT AIRBAGS, ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2000 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE VEHICLE CRASH, WHICH CAUSED SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG AND SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED ALTHOUGH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED DURING THE CRASH. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, RIGHT KNEE, AND LEFT TOE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
