Hello, The ignition switch in my vehicle has never worked right. I took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for a airbag recall and was told them about the ignition switch problem and recall. They said they would not do the recall and wanted me to call Honda. I called Honda and was told that I would have to pay for diagnostic fee before they would attempt any repairs for this recall. The Honda case number is 14383356. I refuse to pay a fee for what should be a free recall. If you could please help me with this issue I would certainly appreciate it. The recall information is as follows: NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:05V-025 MFR CAMPAIGN ID:P68 CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION:99-02 ACCORD IGN INTERLOCK RECALL DATE:01/27/2005 Thank you in advance for all your help.

THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO PARK AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUSES WERE CHECKED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JEFF WYLER HONDA OF COLERAIN (8950 COLERAIN AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45251, (513) 741-3700) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE LIGHTING ILLUMINATED WHEN THE CONTACT STRUCK THE DASHBOARD WITH HIS HAND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE WAS VERY HOT AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DIMMER FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
THE GREEN KEY LIGHT ON THE DASH STARTS FLASHING AND MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SOMETIMES MY CAR WILL NOT START DUE TO THE KEY LIGHT NOT COMING ON AT ALL. I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL HONDA ACCORD'S. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,000. UPDATED 08/31/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE KEY COULD BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE. THE MODEL WAS PREVIOUSLY SUBJECTED TO A RECALL, BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. *JS
THE WIRING THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE AFFECTS THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT REMAIN ON, WILL CRANK BUT CUTS OFF. HAVE REPLACED 4 SENSORS AND THE ALTERNATOR TWICE. ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ARE EFFECTED. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC TRAVELING ON THE EXPRESSWAY.

MY SECURITY SYSTEM. SOMETIMES THE ALARM WILL GO OFF FOR NO REASON. SOMETIMES THE CAR LOCKS ITSELF, AND OFTEN I ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR, NOTHING HAPPENS. USALLY AFTER 3-4 HOURS I CAN START THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND HAS NOT BEE DRIVEN THAT DAY. MY ALARM WILL GO OFF SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING IN THE CITY. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN ON GOING SINCE 2012. WHEN I PURCHASED THE HONDA THE PAINT JOB WAS PERFECT, WITHIN1 MONTH ALL OF THE PAINT ON THE HOOD WAS GONE, AND NOW BOTH FRONT FENDERS ARE BECOMING INFECTED
IGNITION SWITCH CONTACTS HAVE FAILED - CAUSING INTERMITTENT STALLING OF ENGINE.

MY 2000 HONDA SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN 2010, RESTARTED RIGHT AWAY. WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. SINCE THEN IT HAS DONE IT ABOUT 10 TIMES, A FEW TIMES WHEN COLD STARTING BUT USUALLY IN SUMMER WHEN AIR TEMPERATURE IS VERY HOT. MY MECHANIC HAS KEPT IT OVER A WEEKEND TO SEE IF HE COULD GET THE CAR TO FAIL STARTING, BUT NO LUCK. I AM AFRAID TO TAKE IT ON A LONG TRIP EVEN THOUGH IT HAS ONLY 129,300 MILES ON IT.

HEADLAMPS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH AT NIGHT... SOMETIMES THE CAR WON,T START. I LET IT SIT A WHILE, THEN IT STARTS. THIS IS USUALLY IN THE SUMMER. BEFORE I TURN OFF THE IGNITION, I TURN OFF ALL THE BLOWERS. (AIR) THAT SEEMS TO WORK. THE WINDOWS FOG UP WHEN IT IS HUMID AND THE BLOWERS WON'T CLEAR THEM.
I BACKED MY 2000 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN UPHILL INTO MY GARAGE, TOOK THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION AND STARTED TO GO INTO MY HOUSE WHEN I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE. WHEN I TURNED AROUND THE HONDA WAS ROLLING DOWNHILL TOWARDS MY NEIGHBORS HOUSE, IT STOPPED SHORT OF HITTING MY NEIGHBORS HOUSE BY SOME SHRUBS AND A SMALL TREE. NO SERIOUS DAMAGE HAPPENED. I STILL HAD THE KEY IN MY HAND AND WHEN I CHECKED THE HONDA THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN REVERSE. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO REMOVE THE KEY IN EACH GEAR AND I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY IN EVERY POSITION. I TOOK THE HONDA TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID NO RECALL WAS ON MY HONDA FOR THAT PROBLEM AND THAT I HAD NO RECOURSE EXCEPT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED ON MY OWN. I ALWAYS HEARD SAFETY RECALLS NEVER EXPIRED BUT I GUESS I WAS MISINFORMED. I LOCATED AN NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V025000 THAT STATED HONDA ACCORD 1999-2002 IGNITION KEY INTERLOCK (THE KEY CAN BE TAKEN OUT OF THE IGNITION IN ANY GEAR AND THE CAR COULD ROLL AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR). POSSIBLY CAUSING DAMAGE OR DEATH? *TR

VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT UP. THE IS AN INCONSISTENT PROBLEM, BUT IT CONTINUES TO BE MORE FREQUENT. THE LIGHTS WILL GO OUT WHILE DRIVING, THEN AFTER TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE, THEY MAY OR MAY NOT LIGHT BACK UP. I HAVE PARKED MY CAR, REMOVED MY KEY NOT REALIZING THE CAR IS IN PARK, THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO ROLL WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED AND ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
