PAINT PEELING AND CRACKING
I BOUGHT THE CAR CERTIFIED USED FROM HONDA. 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE, MY SON PULLED INTO THE DEALERSHIP (TO HAVE COSMETIC WORK DONE) AND THE CARS ENGINE "LOCKED UP".( THE CAR SALESMAN WAS PRESENT AT THIS TIME) THE CAR JUST "DIED". THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD RECHARGE THE BATTERY, AS THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I ASKED FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, SO IF THIS HAPPENED AGAIN, WE WOULD KNOW 100%, THAT IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING. LESS THEN 3 WEEKS LATER, 6 DAYS BEFORE OWNING THE CAR FOR A FULL MONTH, MY SON IS DRIVING THE CAR, AND WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 WAY INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE LOSES ALL POWER AND STOPS DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE FIRST TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS PULLING FORWARD INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE SECOND, DRIVING FORWARD WITH A SLIGHT TURN. AFTER ARGUING WITH THE DEALER THAT THIS WAS IN FACT A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM, AND I NOR MY SON FELT SAFE IN THE VEHICLE, DID THEY AGREE TO BUY THE VEHICLE BACK, IF I WAS WILLING TO BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THEM.
THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH IMPROPERLY TORQUED CONNECTING ROD BOLTS,WICH CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO LOSE POWER OR LEAK OIL. LOSS OF ENGINE POWER MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE STALL,INCREASING THE RISK OF CRASH.IF THE ENGINE LEAKS OIL IN THE PROXIMITY OF HOT ENGINE OR EXHAUST COMPONENTS,THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF A FIRE. HONDAS NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS JP2.I SEE SOME OIL BETWEEN BLOCK CYLINDER AND HEAD OF MY CAR.
DROVE THE CAR WITHOUT A KEY IT. WE STARTED THE CAR WITH THE KEYLESS START, AND MY SON HAD TO GO INSIDE TO GET SOMETHING IN THE HOUSE BUT FORGOT TO GRAB THE KEYS TO LEAVE (SOMEONE ELSE LOCKED THE HOUSE DOOR) THE CAR WAS ON STILL RUNNING AND WE DROVE OFF. NOW WE ARE STRANDED! I ONLY REALIZED HE DIDN'T GRAB THE KEY WHEN I TRIED LOOKING FOR THEM AFTER WE STOPPED. HONDA SAYS THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING THAT MAKES THIS PREVENTABLE. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE OFF FROM YOUR KEYS! WHAT IF I WAS IN A REMOTE AREA OF THE MOUNTAINS WITH NO CELL SIGNAL?! THIS IS VERY UNSAFE.
THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT COOL LIKE IT SHOULD. WE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUR HONDA ODYSSEY.
THE AC CONDENSER GOT A HOLE IN IT FROM SOMETHING ON THE ROAD, BEEN READING AROUND AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, TO ME IT IS NOT OKAY THAT THE CONDENSER IS SO EASILY DAMAGED TO THE POINT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT IT
FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS MY HONDA ACCORD EXL (2014) HAS BEEN GIVING ME TROUBLE WHEN I TRY TO START IT UP. I PUT IN A NEW BATTERY ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND HAD IT TESTED SEVERAL TIMES. AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN I TRY TO START MY VEHICLE IT ONLY TURNS ON THE CONSOLE AND NOT THE ENGINE, AFTER I TURN IT OFF TO TRY TO START IT UP AGAIN THE BRAKE PEDAL SEEMS TO GET A BIT LOCKED AND IT ISN'T AS EASY TO PRESS DOWN ON IT.
THE TRUNK HAS OPENED SEVERAL TIMES ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE. FIRST TIME THE LATCH AND THE CABLE WERE REPLACED. THE SECOND TIME I WAS TOLD THE KEY WAS RESET. THIS IS STILL HAPPENING AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.. VEHICLE IS USUALLY PARKED WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
OIL CONSUMPTION: BURNING ENGINE OIL ENGINE OIL LEVEL IS NEAR EMPTY WITHIN 5000 MILES OIL CHANGE INTERVAL FLASH AND GONE LOW ENGINE OIL WARNING LIGHT ON DASHBOARD WHICH IS HARD TO NOTICE THE PROBLEM
HANGING A HANDICAP PLACARD FROM THE AUTO DIMMING REAR VIEW MIRROR CAUSED A WIRING HARNESS SHORT. THE SHORT WAS INTERMMITENT AT FIRST AND CAUSED A PARTIAL LOSS OF ACCESSORIES (AC, RADIO, ETC.) WHILE DRIVING. WITHIN 5 MILES OF THE LOSS OF ACCESSORIES, A HARD SHORT OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STARTED. LUCKILY THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED WHEN THIS CONDITION OCCURRED DEALER REFUSED TO COVER REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY INDICATING THAT THE CONDITION WAS CAUSED BY AN OUTSIDE SOURCE (THE HANDICAP PLACARD). I APPEALED TO AMERICAN HONDA 7/13/16 AND THE SAME DECISION WAS UPHELD.
UNLOCK CAR WITH REMOTE ONLY TO COME BACK TO THE CAR AND IT HAS LOCKED ITSELF AGAIN.
GOING 65MPH ON THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY AT THE TOP OF THE DRISCOL BRIDGE WHEN IT FELT LIKE A 4X4 LANDED ON ,THE ROOF SLIDER WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME HAD THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED THE A FOOTBALL SIZE HOLE,
SOMETIMES WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL FROM A STOP I WILL NOT GET POWER AND I'M AFRAID THAT AN ACCIDENT WILL OCCUR WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I BELIEVE THE OXYGEN SENSOR MAY BE THE CAUSE. LACK OF POWER.
MY CAR HAS A LANE WATCH CAMERA THAT ENGAGES WHEN USING YOUR RIGHT BLINKER. WHEN MAKING AN OUTBOUND CALL, YOU SAY THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU ARE CALLING AND THEN YOU RECEIVE A VERBAL NOTIFICATION "CALLING _____" IF BETWEEN THIS TIME AND THE TIME IT TAKES FOR THE SYSTEM TO INITIATE THE CALL AND DIAL TONE STARTS YOU HAVE TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, WHICH ENGAGES THE LANE WATCH CAMERA, THE CALL IS CANCELED. ONCE YOU'VE TURNED THE CORNER AND THE CAMERA HAS TURNED OFF, IT WILL AGAIN SAY "CALLING ____" HOWEVER IT DOES NOT PERFORM THE CALL AND JUST SITS ON THAT SCREEN. IF YOU LIVE IN A CITY WHERE FREQUENT TURNS ARE A NORMALITY, IF YOU'RE TRYING TO DO SO AND MAKE OUTBOUND CALLS IT'S VERY DIFFICULT AND DISTRACTING AS MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS ARE OFTEN NEEDED TO MAKE THE CALL. I'VE SINCE TURNED OFF THE LANE WATCH CAMERA TO PREVENT IT FROM DISRUPTING OUTBOUND CALLS.
ON A SUNDAY MORNING, I STARTED MY CAR IN A DRIVEWAY - TURNED ON THE HEATER AND ALLOWED THE CAR TO WARM UP. WHEN I BEGAN TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY THERE WAS A BUNCH OF THICK SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE CAR. THEN, I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND QUICKLY JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR. A MECHANIC LOOKED AT MY CAR AND DETERMINED THAT THE WATER PUMP FROZE WHICH CAUSED THE ALTERNATOR BELT TO BREAK. THE NEXT DAY, ONCE MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE DETERMINATION WAS CONFIRMED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP. BUT, AS TO THIS DAY - I DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAPPENED. DO I HAVE A LEMON OR WILL THIS HAPPEN AGAIN? COULD THIS HAPPEN WHILE I'M DRIVING CAUSING A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT? AFTER ALL, THIS CAR ONLY HAD 18,571 MILES ON IT AND I BOUGHT IT NEW ON MARCH 9, 2014. I AM VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE OF THE UNKNOWN FUTURE SAFETY RISK.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ON A TUESDAY MORNING AROUND 6:45AM AND I HEARD A LOUD BANG. PULLED BACK MY SUN VISOR FOR SUNROOF AND SAW THAT MY SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. CLOSED VISOR JUST IN CASE IT WANTED TO BREAK. THEN ALL OFF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD CRASH AND MY VISOR STARTED FLAPPING. ROAD TO WORK HOLDING VISOR WITH ONE HAND AND DRIVING WITH THE OTHER SCARED THE VISOR WAS GOING TO FLY OPEN. GOT TO WORK AND LOOKED AT SUN ROOF AND IT WAS A BIG HOLE IN MY SUNROOF. 75% OF MY SUNROOF WAS MISSING OR GONE.
SUNROOF BLEW OUT WITH A LOUD NOISE, GOING 45 MPH, SUNNY AND DRY ROAD, DAYLIGHT, NO TRUCKS ANYWHERE NEAR MY CAR, NO OVER PASSES IN THAT AREA, BUSHES AND TREES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, NO PEOPLE IN SIGHT AND LUCKY FOR ME THE ROOF SHADE WAS CLOSED. MA 10/5 *CN
MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. NOTHING HIT IT; IT JUST EXPLODED.
THE VEHICLE IS ABLE TO BE TURNED OFF WITH OUT PUTTING IN PARK. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC WITH PUSH BUTTON START. WHEN STOPPING AT AN ARRIVED LOCATION YOU ARE ABLE TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF YOUR VEHICLE WITH OUT PUTTING IT IN PARK WHICH THEN DISENGAGES THE GEARS. IF YOU HAPPEN TO FORGET TO PUT IT IN PARK AND SHUT THE CAR OFF IN DRIVE WHEN YOU GET OUT, THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL AWAY. ANY OTHER PUSH BUTTON START VEHICLE I HAVE USED WOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN UNTIL IT WAS PLACED IN PARK. ROLL AWAY ISSUES SHOULD AND COULD BE EASILY FIXED.
MY CAR ROLLS DOWN MY DRIVEWAY ABOUT 3 FEET BEFORE IT STOPS, MY DRIVEWAY IS ABOUT 15 DEGREES, NO RAIN, NO SNOW, CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS WAS NORMAL, I TEND TO THINK ITS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE CAR WAS STATIONART AND IN PARK WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I DID MY OWN TEST ON THIS SITUATION AND IT WAS VERY REPEATABLE.
WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A SLIGHT HILL AT 20 DEGREE AND UP , THE TRUNK IS UNABLE TO STAY OPEN FOR ME TO LOAD THINGS IN .. IT HAS FELL ON MY FOREHEAD MULTIPLE TIMES HURTING ME.. I ALWAYS HAVE TO HOLD UP THE TRUNK WITH ONE ARM WHILE LOADING THINGS INTO THE TRUNK. I'VE BEEN TO HONDA DEALERS AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME ITS THE WAY IT IS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY NEW HONDA, I NOTICED AN ODOR SIMILAR TO A GAS SMELL, SORT OF LIKE A PILOT ON WITH NO FLAME WHEN THE HEAT IS ON, THE ODOR COMES AND GOES. THE ODOR IS SO BAD AT TIMES THAT IT UPSETS MY STOMACH. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HONDA TO HAVE IT CHECKED IN NOVEMBER OF 2014, AND, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, THE ODOR ARRIVED FOR A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF TIME AND THEN DISSIPATED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM DOES STILL OCCUR. *JS
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR HONDA ACCORD 2014 LAST APRIL 18,ON AUGUST ,SUDDENLY IT DIDN'T START,I CALLED AAA TO CHECK BATTERY BUT AAA SAID, ITS NOT THE BATTERY ITS MORE THAN THAT. ONE EVEN SUGGESTED I USED A BROOM TO KEEP THE TRUNK OPEN (WHICH IS ABSURD BECAUSE IT'S A BRAND NEW 2014 HONDA ACCORD. BUT WHEN I SPOKE TO THE CAR REPAIR SHOP ABOUT IT, THEY SAID IT WAS NOT NORMAL AND SOMETHING WAS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THE TRUNK. *TR
