The speakers will blast static noise while driving even when the radio is turned off. The engine will need to be powered off to stop the noise. After powering on and driving again the static noise returns within 5 minutes. This is very distracting. This has been happening intermittently for over a month. The audio fuse can be removed to stop the noise from occurring. Unfortunately, this fuse also disables the backup camera and side camera, not an ideal fix. I have MP4 format video available that can be shared via Gmail Google drive.
Abs, traction, eps, and brake lights stay on. This causes the traction and brakes not to work properly. Bought my car 10 months ago from Honda and this started about 3 months after. The solenoid is faulty and have heard from several other owners the same. This can be a serious problem for drivers. Part is not available from private auto stores. Only dealership which causes more concern and they should be held liable for components that fault in breaking the vehicle. 2017 Honda accord. Was inspected by Honda on purchase 2023 is what they say. Took in for a oil change 2024 and they do full inspection for free and when I brought it up they said they didn't check it with all lights on.
The audio unit on my 2107 Honda Accord will (seemingly) randomly produce loud, increasing static noise from the speakers that last from 5-10 minutes. There is no way to stop the noise other than to pull over and turn off the car. While that noise is happening nothing else can be heard, other traffic and especially emergency vehicles. This has not been confirmed by a dealer yet or inspected by anyone. (Many online forums bear witness to this problem) No warning lights appeared on the vehicle.
AC is not working on Honda Accord LX 2017. There is a refrigerant leak. Now the Defogger does not work causing safety issue while driving if the windsheild requires defogging. Honda dealer diagnosed that the AC Compressor is leaking from the shaft seal which cannot be repaired unless entire compressor is changed. Honda does have recall/extended warranty for AC Compressor Shaft Seal other models such as Civic and CRV but on Honda Accord 2017 Models they have not extended the warranty on Compressor Shaft Seal yet.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the contact was unable to hear the sirens of an emergency vehicle because there was a loud static noise coming through the speakers. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that there was no recall on the VIN for the issue. The failure mileage was 81,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormally loud static noise would emit from the vehicle without warning. The contact stated that the failure would occur intermittently and that the contact would be forced to pull over and restart the vehicle for the failure to stop. As a result of the failure, the contact experienced a persistent ring noise in both ears, mainly the left ear. The contact sought medical treatment from a doctor and would use ear plugs while driving the vehicle to prevent further ear damage. The manufacturer was initially notified about the failure, the contact was informed that the manufacturer was aware of the failure but that a recall had yet to be placed on the vehicle. The manufacturer referred the contact to a local dealer for assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was given an estimate for the repair; the contact was later informed that the part needed to repair the vehicle was on backorder. The contact reached back out to the manufacturer and a complaint was filed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
I had noticed a couple of weeks ago that I would try and start the car and it was struggling to start. Two weeks ago I tried to turn on my car and it would not start. I had to jump start it. I went out to run errands. I tried turning the car on again and it would not start. Once again I had to jump start it. Thinking it was the battery, I took it to O'Reilly's since it was still under warranty. The battery was good. They told me to take the car to run a scan. The scan showed no issues with the car. I googled what was happening to my car and I saw it's a common issue with these cars. Since the time I bought the car, I have already had to replace the battery 4 times which is odd because batteries last about 3 years and they are only lasting 1.5 years. As of today, it has been turning on but I can still hear it struggling to turn on.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the display screen flashed and turned off. The contact also stated that there was a whining sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.
Rear backup camera stopped working at 130k miles
2017 HONDA ACCORD EX-L INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM (RADIO) WHEN USING AM/FM/XM STARTS TO STATIC BADLY AND SLOWLY DRIVES TO FULL CRACKLING/STATIC INTERFERENCE NOISE THROUGH ALL SPEAKERS IN THE SYSTEM. POWER ON AND POWER OFF DO NOT CHANGE SYMPTOMS, ONLY PULL OVER AND POWER CAR ON AND OFF. CANNOT HEAR SURROUNDING VEHICLES WHEN DRIVING, EVEN WITH WINDOWS DOWN. DIFFICULT TO CONCENTRATE AND DRIVE SAFELY WITH THE RADIO A MAXIMUM VOLUME WITH STATIC INTERFERENCE. I CAN SUPPLY NUMEROUS VIDEOS OF ME SCREAMING OVER THE NOISE WHILE A PASSENGER TAKES VIDEO OF THIS INTERFERENCE. PLEASE PROVIDE A METHOD FOR ME TO SUPPLY VIDEO OF THIS ISSUE TO FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW UNSAFE THIS CAN BE TO ANY DRIVER INCLUDING MYSELF. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR ENGINE TROUBLE LIGHTS. THE PROBLEM IS REPEATABLE AND MY 45MINUTE DAILY COMMUTE. I HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGE THAT WOULD RESULT IN THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. FAILURE MODE - UNKNOWN.
Backup camera not displaying on display screen when in reverse. Impedes safety because I cannot accurately reverse due to the trunk size. Cannot see any incoming cars when I am in reverse.
My rear view camera has been broken for about 2 years, it just completely stopped working. I took my car to the dealership and they confirmed my camera was defective and said that my extended warranty would cover it, I still haven’t taken it in to be fixed yet but I just wanted to report this issue.
Rear camera not working blurry Only 31500 miles
The radio/GPS System began to static really loud on its on without me touching the dial. The only way it would stop is when I turned off the vehicle. Honda refused to acknowledge this safety hazard as a factory defect. According to my Internet search, it is a common phenomenon with this model but they want me to pay $1200 to replace the radio system . Please investigate! Sad day for Honda.
The rear doors will not lock/unlock when using the keyless remote. I have replaced the rear doors actuators in June 2022 because the rear doors would not lock/unlock unless I manually locked/unlocked the doors which is a pain. Now not even two months later I am having the same issue with the front passenger door. This is not a cheap repair and there is too many complaints about this very issue not just occurring with the Accord.
The in dash stereo system with Bluetooth makes loud static noises, regardless of whether the stereo system is on or off. The static noise is extremely loud and unpleasant, and should be considered a safety hazard. The only way to make it stop is to pull the fuse for the head unit. Pulling the fuse makes the infotainment system turn off, which means I can no longer have access to backup camera or the trip computer.
Charging system. New battery has been placed. Alternator checked & starter checked. Fuses checked. Car is still saying check charging system
Positive and fused negative battery cables corrosion caused battery failure.
ALTERNATOR FAILED AT 35,106 MILES-IT WAS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE
BACKUP/REVERSE CAMERA HAS FAILED. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO REVERSE, THE IN CAR MONITOR DISPLAYS A BLACK SCREEN WITH YELLOW GRID LINES. CAMERA IMAGE IS NO LONGER DISPLAYED. RESETTING CAMERA SETTINGS TO DEFAULT DOES NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY AROUND SMALL CHILDREN. DRIVERS HAVE COME TO RELY ON BACKUP CAMERAS TO DETECT SMALL CHILDREN AND OBSTACLES THAT CANNOT BE SEEN WITH JUST THE USE OF A REAR VIEW MIRROR. A CAMERAS FAILURE CREATES A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGEROUS WHEN BACKING UP. THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS 6 MONTHS OUTSIDE THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AND HAS LESS THAN 32K MILES. THE CAMERAS FAILURE THIS EARLY IN THE VEHICLES LIFECYCLE IS INDICATIVE OF A DEFECT AND NOT DUE TO AGE. ADDITIONALLY, HONDA CAMERA FAILURES ARE A KNOWN ISSUE, SUBJECT TO A RECALL, ON 2018 HONDA ACCORDS. THERE IS A LIKELY POSSIBILITY THAT THE SAME CAMERAS WERE INSTALLED IN MANY 2017 HONDA ACCORDS.
MY CAR WAS PARKED, AND I SWITCHED TO THE R GEAR TO BACK OUT, BUT MY REAR CAMERA WOULD NOT WORK. MY SCREEN WAS ALL BLACK BUT MY YELLOW PARKING GUIDELINES WERE STILL VISIBLE. I TRIED TO CHANGE THE CAMERA VIEW TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP. MY SCREEN SHOWED SOME STATIC. I SWITCHED BACK TO MY ORIGINAL CAMERA VIEW AND THE STATIC STOPPED, BUT MY SCREEN IS STILL BLACK ON REAR CAMERA MODE. I'VE BEEN SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS MANY HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE. REAR CAMERAS ON OTHER MODELS OF THE HONDA ACCORD HAVE HAD RECALLS. GIVEN SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, IT WOULD ONLY BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE 2017 ACCORD TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS.
MY CAR BATTERY KEEP DYING IF I DONT DRIVE CAR ONLY FOR 2 DAYS
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while entering and starting the vehicle, the front driver’s side and passenger’s side seat warmers activated inadvertently and remained on while the vehicle was in operation. The contact stated that the seat warmers were extremely hot to the point of melting the driver’s side front seat. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be inspected. The mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,933.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN DEAD ON 4+ OCCASIONS. STATIONARY, IN GARAGE. VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AS LITTLE AS ONCE PER WEEK AT TIMES BUT THE BATTERY OR ELECTRIC DRAW HAS CAUSED THE CAR TO FAIL IN AS LITTLE AS A COUPLE DAYS OR EVEN TRUNK BEING OPEN FOR 15-20MIN. I'VE HAD TO TOW THIS VEHICLE 3TIMES FOR SERVICE. DEALER IS BRUSHING THIS OFF WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY. SAYING THE CAR HAS TO BE DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN 20MINUTES TO RECEIVE FULL CHARGE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HAS A NUMBER OF ELECTRONICS THAT REQUIRE THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN MORE. THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY UNLESS IT CHECKS BAD. THE ISSUE IS AN ELECTRICAL DRAW. MOST LIKELY SEEMS RELATED TO THE REAR HATCH. BATTERY SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A LARGER CAPACITY AND THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND DIAGNOSED FOR ELECTRICAL DRAW FAILURES.
THE CAR BATTERY DOES NOT HOLD CHARGE. IF THE CAR IS NOT USED FOR THREE DAYS TO A WEEK, THE BATTERY IS COMPLETELY DEAD. THE CAR MUST BE JUMP START. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM. BASED ON MY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, CAR BATTERY LASTS SEVEN TO TEN YEARS BEFORE EXPERIENCING ANY TROUBLE. I THINK EITHER THERE IS A FAULTY SENSOR OR A SYSTEM IN THE CAR THAT STAYS ON WHEN THE CAR ENGINE IS TURNED OFF RESULTING IN THE COMPLETE DISCHARGE OF THE BATTERY.
