The driver side wiper stopped functioning during a rain storm. Fortunately, I was not on a major road and was able to navigate. If I had been on the highway, I would have been blinded and potentially in a major accident if not able to pull over expeditiously. This malfunction occurred approximately one year earlier and was corrected by the dealer at that time. I believe some Hyundai Palisades have had a recall for this issue in the past. I am concerned that this has recurred and not been fixed definitively. This issue has potential fatal consequences. I am taking the vehicle to the dealer tomorrow to address the issue. I cannot take it today as it is still raining and I would be placing myself and others at risk.
Driver side windshield wiper has stopped working after encountering snow. The issue was initially intermittent, but now the wiper on the driver's side has stopped working completely. In searching, this is a known issue with other Palisades.
I was driving in a downpour today at approximately 11:30 am at 40mph when the driver side wiper stopped working. This is a verified recall issue which WAS REPAIRED on February 28, 2023. I was able to pull over safely into a parking lot until the weather calmed and then was able to very carefully drive home on side roads.
Windshield developed a 30 in crack without hitting anything on the road. Other owners report a similar problem on a Facebook group.
TINY PEBBLE HIT MY WINDSCEEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IMMEDIATELY A LARGE CRACK SPREAD ALL OVER THE WINDCSREEN
Windshield cracked
Windshield is fragile and breaks easily. Windshield will break from low impact debris. Crack impairs drivers vision due to extensive quick spread across windshield.. Car is inoperable due to light refraction on crack.
Car was originally purchased new on May 30, 2020. On July 30th, 2020, I noticed a chip in the windshield. The car only had roughly 600 miles. I did not hear anything hit the windshield. I experienced another ding in the windshield on January 23, 2021 and then another happened on April 14, 2022. I have never experienced any issue with any other car having this much windshield instability. The car is almost 2 years old as of this writing and at 14,516 total miles.
Four windshields in 2 years. Very small rocks cause major cracks. $6000 on windshields.
The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving in inclement weather at an undisclosed speed, the front windshield wipers became inoperable causing a visibility hazard while driving. The contact veered to the side of the road and cleared the snow from the windshield and waited approximately 45 minutes before the windshield wiper regained normal function. While driving back to the residence the failure recurred. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle but could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Windshield cracks easily. It is a known issue and Hyundai has yet to recall it. Will have had to replace my windshield twice in two years for incidents that should have resulted in no crack or a small crack. Kia has addressed the issue on the Palisade's sister vehicle, the Telluride but Hyundai has not even offered to replace them for free or reimburse owner costs when they have made a faulty part. It's hazardous and costly and should have been recalled immediately for the safety of their drivers.
Front wipers stop unexpectedly operating when in moderate snow conditions. Wipers will not operate again for 3-4 minutes, leaving driver stranded on roadway. The dealer, after consultation with Hyundai tech support, says it appears the motor overheats but replacing it with a new motor will not solve the problem. The have not replaced it to verify that position. As the owner, this is a scary and dangerous situation when it occurs and appears that the motor overheats prematurely and then requires time to cool off. Problem has occurred 4 times. The fact that neither the dealer nor the manufacturer have responded with a solution
I walked out to my vehicle in the driveway this morning and the windshield was cracked for no apparent reason. There were no visible chips near the crack. Crack extended from lower Driver's side corner upwards and across to almost the center-line. I also had to previously repair two chips in the windshield that did not appear to be from debris damage. It would appear that the windshield is defective as installed at the factory.
A few days ago a small pebble was thrown up from a car in front of me while traveling from work which led to a small 1" spider crack in the windshield. By the next morning, this spider had grown to about 1' long. And now by the end of this week it has grown to more than 2' long.
NEW 2020 PALISADE GOT A CRACKED WINDSHIELD WITHIN 3 WEEKS OF PURCHASE (300 MILES) FROM A TINY PEBBLE AT 30 MPH ON A SIDE ROAD. REPLACED ON 9/17/2020. A SECOND CRACK APPEARED YESTERDAY (1/10/21) ON THE REPLACEMENT WINSHIELD AT 6351 MILES. NOTHING WAS HEARD OR SEEN TO CAUSE THIS ONE AGAIN DRIVING G ON A SIDE ROAD. SO I HAVE HAD TWO BROKEN WINDSHIELDS ON THIS NEW VEHICLE IN A VERY SHORT TIME UNDER LIGHT DRIVING CONDITIONS.
When driving down the tollway in my city early in the morning, no cars around for at least 200 yards, something small hit my windshield causing a spiderweb crack in the center of windshield. Will have owned the vehicle for 2 weeks as of tomorrow and has less than 3k miles on it.
WHILE DRIVING A SMALL PEBBLE STRUCK MY WINDSHIELD AND IMMEDIATELY CRACKED IT. THIS WAS NOT A ROCK, BOULDER OR ANYTHING OF SIZE, IT WAS A PEBBLE. I HAVE SEEN THAT OTHER 2020 PALISADE OWNERS HAVE ALSO HAD THEIR WINDSHIELD CRACK UNDER THESE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. ITS UNREAL THAT HYUNDAI IS ALLOWED TO SELL CARS WITH INSUFFICIENT WINDSHIELDS WITH THIN GLASS. THIS CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOUR UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF YOUR CRACKED WINDSHIELD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
Windshield crack appeared near the roof line just to the drivers side of the rear view mirror and traveled immediately ~18 inches diagonally towards the passenger wiper blade. There appears to be a very tiny nick where the crack started, but if something hit the windshield it was so small we never heard it and the crack traveled instantly across the windshield. The car was hand washed the day prior and no cracks/chips were evident.
The windshield was hit with a pebble at a low speed of around 35mph. There were no other cars within about 3 car lanes, so this was not a high-impact situation. However, the pebble cracked still cracked the windshield. The dealers confirmed that this model vehicle has a high incidence of cracked windshields that could potentially lead to injury or harm. I am worried that a truly high-impact rock would be life-threatening to the passengers.
On interstate highway in South Dakota in September 2020, a small pebble came off the road surface creating a small chip on front windshield. Within one hour the windshield had a crack horizontally covering the entire windshield. This caused a complete one day delay on our vacation trip as the windshield had to be replaced at a local Safelite location. Certainly the delay was an inconvenience but more important we are concerned about our safety. This occurred when vehicle was less than 2 months old. Now it is July, 2021 and on another interstate a small pebble came off the road and caused a small chip in the lower left windshield. Next day the small crack started to run requiring a compete windshield repair AGAIN. If a small pebble can do this immediate damage, I fear the entire windshield could shatter causing a major accident or at worst a fatality. Safelite and Travelers Insurance have all documentation regarding the two incidents.
A small rock hit the windshield and a huge crack ran all the way across at 7,000 miles. Before I even Had time to replace the windshield another crack in a totally different location developed. Extremely unsafe!
The auto glass must all be restored. It’s essential that the windows/ windshield be in good condition at all times. Driving with a chipped or cracked windshield may put me and my passengers at risk for injury in the event of a rollover or collision. I do not feel safe with this windshield as the crack spread halfway within 24hours.
At 12,800 miles, while parked, a 18'' to 24'' windshield crack spontaneously appeared originating from the lower, passenger side edge, sloping up towards driver side. Nothing came into contact with the glass, and no chipped starting point is visible.
Windshield chipped and subsequently cracked with no noticeable impact with any rock or other object.
While we were in a store shopping the windshield spontaneously cracked. No reason, not caused by a rock chip or any other impact.
