My daughter‘s car was in park and still running and she got out of the car and went to the back of the car opened up the hatch cleaned her window went to the side of the car passenger side went to go get out her lunchbox and the car ran over my daughter And crushed her left side and tore off part of her face. The car came out of park on its own in my driveway and I have a video of this from my camera. She was taken obviously to the hospital by ambulance and she sees a plastic surgeon every week now this just happened March 5. Something is not right. The car shouldn’t have ever come out of park on its own in order for it to come out of park and go backwards you need to press your foot on the break and put it in reverse it reversed on its own onto my daughter.
The contact owns a 2018 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle sporadically accelerated which caused the contact to crash into another vehicle. No injuries were sustained. A police report was filed. No air bags were deployed. The vehicle was towed to an auto repair center. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
The component or system failing is the brake system. When applying the foot to the brake pedal, sometimes it goes to a very low level. The problem was reproduced with the service technicians of a dealer. They made a maintenance service (break flush) to the brake system. Problem seemed to be solved, but it came back again. The mileage between the first service and second service was 1,591 miles. In the second service, technicians made inspection to the brake pads, they were found within parameters. Test drive was made, and the problem was not reproduced. Not sure if they made additional service. After few weeks, the problem repeated again. This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes occurs, but not always. No warning lamps or indicators present at the time the problem occurs.
Good day, I hope your day is going well. I have a 2018 Hyundai Tucson and on several occasions when I have tried to stop rapidly my break seem to fail and the car slid further than expected. I noticed that there was an anti lock break hydronic recall on the 2018-2022 models but I never received a letter for my vehicle
THE PARTS TO FIX THIS RECALL ARE BACKORDERED. THEY HAVE BEEN FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS AND OWNERS DON'T KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. IN THE MEANTIME, WE RISK HAVING OUR CARS START A FIRE WHICH CAN LEAD TO SEVERE DAMAGE AND/OR DEATH. SEP 04,2020 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER195 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER20V543000 RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE SUMMARY HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2016-2021 TUCSON VEHICLES. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE HYDRAULIC ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (HECU) COULD CORRODE INTERNALLY AND CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. SAFETY RISK THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ("ABS") MODULES THAT COULD MALFUNCTION INTERNALLY AND CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT OVER TIME, AN ELECTRICAL SHORT COULD RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT OVERCURRENT IN THE ABS MODULE, INCREASING THE RISK OF AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.
In many Instances, I come close to get involved in accident. I cannot apply HARD BRAKING. When the hard braking is applied, I feel my foot is touching the ground and the brake cable is going to break. It is very scary and unsafe.
RECALL FOR ANTI-LOCK BRAKES HYDRAULIC ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (HECU) HAS BEEN KNOWN SINCE AT LEAST 01/12/21 BUT NOTICE NOT RECEIVED UNTIL 03/12/21. DEALER DOES NOT HAVE PARTS IN STOCK, WITH NO ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME, SO VEHICLE CONTINUES TO BE AT RISK FOR ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. THIS DOCUMENTS HYUNDAI'S FAILURE TO ADDRESS SERIOUS SAFETY SITUATION.
WITH A RECALL INVOLVING ABS MODULES THAT CAN CAUSE ENGINE FIRE IS A SERIOUS RECALL. NO SHOPS IN THE AREA HAD AVAILABILITY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE IN LESS THAN A WEEK. THIS IS TOO LONG OF A TIME FOR THESE TYPES OF ISSUES. I AM NOT BLAMING THE SHOPS, THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH THEY CAN DO. BUT, MORE ASSISTANCE SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED TO THEM TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THIS ISSUE. I CALLED THE MORNING AFTER I GOT THE NOTICE.
MY CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM ENTERPRISE LEASING IN MAY 2019. I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THE RECALL #195 WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CAN RESULT WITH THE CAR ON FIRE. ACCORDING TO YOUR WEBSITE A PLAN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED TO YOU ON MAY 16, 2018 BEFORE THE CAR WAS SOLD TO ME. I WAS NEVER INFORMED ABOUT THE RECALL BY HYUNDAI. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL FROM A FRIEND. UPON NOTIFYING HYUNDAI THEY HAVE YET TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO A SERIOUS PROBLEM. MY WIFE IS NOW CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY AND HAS SERIOUS STRESS ISSUES IF SHE HAS TO DRIVE THIS CAR. WE HAVE HAD THREE PEOPLE AT THE HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICE TELL US THERE IS A SOLUTION BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT EBERSOLE HYUNDAI SAYS THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. ACTUALLY MAKING THE CAR A SAFETY HAZARD TP DROVE/ WE ARE TOLD THAT BECAUSE WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM ENTERPRISE LEASING AND NOT DIRECTLY FROM HYUNDAI THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR US. I FEEL THAT THERE HAS BEEN SERIOUS FRAUD THAT TOOK PLACE WHEN SELLING US THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS ALREADY DECLARED TO BE UNSAFE WITH A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD.

WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE PARKED OUTSIDE OF THE GARAGE, DUE TO A POSSIBLE COMPARTMENT FIRE. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM HYUNDAI. CUSTOMER REP AT DEALERSHIP WAS VERY IN-PROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR!!..DEALER WAS TRYING TO REAL ME IN TO TRY TO SELL ME A NEW CAR, WHICH I'M IN NO POSITION TO DO SUCH AT THIS TIME. IS THIS RECALL SOMETHING THAT CAN BE ADDRESSED? PLEASE REPLY....*JS
