Chronological view of owner reports
The contact owns a 2017 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The contact stated that he was approaching an exit at the time and was able to coast the vehicle off the freeway into a parking area where the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that there were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and later towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the alternator, and corrosion on the battery terminals. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 142,000.
The car has shut off twice while (once on the highway) and once on a side street. Lost power and locked up. Prior to the shut offs power flickered. No problem identified with Infiniti but appears so be a known issue amongst the infiniti community. Are these cars safe??????
WHEN GETTING VEHICLE OUT OF SPOT AND TURNING WHEEL TO LEFT REAR VEHICLE VIBRATING/BINDING. DEALER INFORMED REAR COUPLER NEEDED TO CHANGED. I FOUND THERE IS ALREADY RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR SAME MODEL BUT SOME REASON MY VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY.
I LEASED A LOADED QX60 FROM SAWGRASS INFINITI. ONE OF THE FEATURES OF THE CAR WAS A 120V PLUG IN THE SECOND ROW WITH A MAX 150W RATING. THIS WAS A KEY FEATURE FOR US AS OUR SON HAS A CONDITION THAT REQUIRES A BREATHING MACHINE TO BE PLUGGED IN SO HE CAN RECEIVE MEDICATION EACH DAY WHILE IN THE CAR. AS IT TURNS OUT, THE VOLTAGE ON THE OUTLET MAY BE 120V, BUT THE RATING IS DEFINITELY NOT CORRECT. AFTER A MINUTE OF WORKING, THE OUTLET SHUTS OFF. AND THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER, IT MIGHT COME BACK ON FOR A MINUTE OR SO. I TESTED THE MACHINE AND IT GETS NO WHERE NEAR THE MAX WATTAGE RATING ON A VOLT METER. I CONTACTED INFINITI MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAID THAT THE VEHICLE IS WORKING AS DESIGNED (IN OTHER WORDS, GO AWAY, WE DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT FIXING ALL OUR VEHICLES WITH A DEFECT). AFTER OWNING THE CAR (LEASE) FOR 3+ MONTHS, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AND I HAVE TO BRING MY OWN INVERTER INTO THE CAR AND PLUG IT INTO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER OUTLET SO THAT THE MACHINE CAN WORK PROPERLY WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A TREATMENT. FACT IS, THE 120V PLUG OUTLET IN THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK AS WAS PROMISED TO ME BY THE DEALER, NOR DOES IT MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS ADVERTISED BY THE MANUFACTURER RIGHT ON THE OUTLET COVER. I'VE BEEN AFTER THEM EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION AND THEY HAVE BEEN AVOIDING THE ISSUE AND NON-RESPONSIVE AS OF LATE. THE CAR OBVIOUSLY HAS AN ENGINEERING FLAW IN ITS ELECTRICAL AND /OR FUSING WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW THIS OUTLET TO PROVIDE POWER AS DESCRIBED.
