The screen is delaminating which impacts the following safety measures: SOS feature, use of cellphone for 911 emergencies, and navigation. The delimitation appeared a few months ago and has progressed.
Uconnect 4C w/NAV with 8.4–Inch Display is delaminating. This is known to be a common problem with this vehicle. The touchscreen provides direct access to settings that affect the way the vehicle physically brakes and steers, all are configured via the Uconnect system, and that system with a defective screen can cause those settings to change without the knowledge of the user, introducing a safety issue.
While my wife was driving her Jeep, everything seemed to fail. All the gauges were gone, no speedometer, no functions working. Every warning light came on. Display stated not to shut off the engine as it may not restart. She stated nothing worked in the vehicle, turn signals, brake lights may not have been working. And what if this happened at night? Would the headlights have worked? She drove the vehicle to our local Jeep dealer where they were unable to "get it in for a week". I had the vehicle towed to another dealer about 30 miles away. I provided them with the error codes the first dealer pulled and a picture of her dash display. They stated the error didn't occur for them, they drove it 13 miles and no errors were detected so they said they cannot troubleshoot it. It was a major can bus failure. If this had been at night I wonder if the light would have even worked. Extremely unsafe not knowing if any of the systems would have functioned. I was told to call the Customer support line. This is a rabbit hole. All calls go to India, they way they will call you back with in 24 hours... NOT TRUE. After days of trying to call, I finally got in touch with someone, they simply say we will call the dealer. I am out of pocket 1,000.00 for a rental car (even though we have max care which covers a loaner) and had to pay for the tow out of pocket. Stellantis is HORRIBLE no customer service at all, it turned into a mess! I am attaching the pictures of the errors and the dash display. Very poor response from the Jeep dealers. It seemed as if they didn't want to take the time to look or check out anything.

The contact stated while driving and using the navigation system, the navigation system independently changed the destination address. The contact stated that the vehicle started independently while the contact was not in the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off inadvertently while making a turn. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer it was purchased from, and the lighting assembly underneath the seats were removed and the key fobs were replaced; however, the failures recurred. The vehicle was taken to Farris Motor Company (246 E Broadway Blvd, Jefferson City, TN 37760), where the driver's side and passenger's side front door panels modules, the radio frequency antenna and the infotainment system were replaced. Additionally, the dealer attempted to bypass the alarm by unplugging the hood latch; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to Farris Jeep Ram Chrysler Dodge (910 W Morris Blvd, Morristown, TN 37813) where the BCM was replaced, and the vehicle was temporarily repaired. The contact stated that the failures had been recurring. The contact disconnected the battery to prevent the alarm from sounding at night. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated because the battery disconnection had cleared the trouble codes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. ABS is staying on. There is a recall that has not yet been resolved.
Circulate button will automatically cause the heat and/or ac to blow full blast while vehicle is in drive/motion randomly. The only way to stop this from happening is to stop vehicle turn off engine and restart and instantly using screen to “off” option for no heat and/or ac
My radio is delaminating. This vehicle is 4 1/2 years old and already delaminating. I noticed a slight delaminating last year now it’s getting worse.
Screen is delaminating and sometimes it will randomly hut a button on the screen (seat warmer, radio change, etc). Sometimes this is sudden while on highway and distracts me to see what happened. Thus also makes it much harder to see when using backup cam sometimes to the point of it being useless.
Radio screen delimitation screen is affected touch screen functions don't work makes random phone calls volume jumps up & down.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were flashing before the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the body control module (BCM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee radio is delaminating. This causes components to either not respond or to activate on their own without driver activation. This known delaminating issue is a serious safety concern as the instrument panel controls the large majority of the components in the vehicle.
Touch screen on uConnect system freezes upon startup or randomly while driving and will also turn blue and reboot several times before it functions properly. Backup camera will not function when screen is frozen and this is a major safety concern. Top left corner of touch screen has started to delaminate, approximately 3 months out of standard 3 year warranty. Vehicle has 36,981 miles. Delamination is causing issues with touch screen.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the STOP/START system failed to operate as designed. The contact stated that while driving with the STOP/START system engaged and the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign or a traffic light, the STOP/START system failed to engage the engine. The contact had to put the vehicle in park and restart the vehicle. The failure was experienced twice. The contact stated that the STOP/START system light illuminated on the instrument panel and stated that the system needed to be serviced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer do be diagnosed. The mechanic failed to retrieve a fault code. The dealer also tests drove the vehicle and was unable to duplicate the failure. However, the contact stated that the Mopar computer sent an email alert that the STOP/START system needed to be serviced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 23,000.
Stops and needs to be put in park to restart, was determined not related to start stop or batteries . Jeep still in shop part not available for undetermined length of time
MULTIPLE ISSUES: 1) LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. HAD TO COME TO A FULL STOP WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND RESTART THE CAR. 2) DOORS WOULDN'T LOCK ANY MORE. 3) BATTERY DRAINED WITHIN 24HRS AND REQUIRED JUMP START. DIAGNOSIS: FAULTY TIPM, CURRENTLY BEING REPLACED. CAN PROVIDE FULL DOCUMENTATION IF REQUESTED.
MY 2019 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT START. I WILL PUSH THE BUTTON AND IT REVS UP BUT DOES NOT TURN OVER. THIS LASTS FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THEN WILL START. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. THE CAR ALSO STALLED UNDERWAY TWICE THIS PAST SUMMER. QUIRK JEEP IN BRAINTREE MA TELLS ME NOTHING IS WRONG WHEN I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE AND IS LIKE NEW. IT CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 8500 MILES ON IT. VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN I PAID A LOT FOR THE CAR.
WHEN USING THE VIEW SCREEN FOR NAVIGATION I CONTINUE TO GET WEATHER ALERTS FOR LOCATIONS THAT 100S MILES AWAY FROM ME. WHICH MAKE ME LOOK DOWN AT THE SCREEN TO TOUCH THE OK BUTTON TO GET BACK TO THE NAVIGATION. THE FEATURE TO TURN OFF WEATHER ALERTS IS NOT PROGRAMMED INTO THE HEAD UNIT, WHICH SENDS OUT NON RELATED WEATHER ALERTS CONSTANTLY DURING MY DRIVING. AGAIN, FORCING ME TO LOOK DOWN AT THE SCREEN TO TOUCH OK! VERY DANGEROUS TO BE OPERATING THE SCREEN HEAD UNIT WHILE DRIVING. EVERY FEW MINUTES! VEHICLE IN MOTION. *TR
IN JUNE OF 2019, I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. ABOUT THE 3,414 MILE MARK, I HAD MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, ALL OF THE WARNING MESSAGES STARTED FLASHING ACROSS MY DASHBOARD. THE CAR BECAME SLUGGISH AND FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STOP RUNNING. THIS ALL HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN TRAFFIC MOVING FORWARD. I FELT UNSAFE. IT WENT TO THE DEALER. IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME RIGHT, THEY FOUND ABOUT 75 CODES HAD BEEN ACTIVATED BY THE COMPUTER. THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME. ON MY WAY HOME, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. ALL THE WARNING MESSAGES FLASHED ACROSS THE DASHBOARD SCREEN WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO DIE. IT WENT BACK TO THE SHOP AND THEY KEPT IT FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS. COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITH IT. FINALLY GOT IT BACK AND I WAS ENSURED IT WAS REPAIRED. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THE 11,000 MILE MARK. THE EXACT SAME SCENARIO AS BEFORE. BUT THE CAR STOPPED MOVING ON TWO OCCASIONS WHEN I WAS IN REVERSE AND IN TRAFFIC STOPPED WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE CAR REMAINED RUNNING BUT WOULD NOT CONTINUE IN REVERSE OR GO FORWARD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK BOTH TIMES, MESSAGES FLASHED ACROSS THE SCREEN AND SEEMED TO RESET THE SYSTEM. I THEN COULD CONTINUE GOING WITH THE CAR. I DEFINITELY FELT UNSAFE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. AGAIN, THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A TWO PAGE PRINTOUT SHOWING ALL THE WARNING CODES THAT HAD GONE OFF. AS I WRITE THIS, THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP. IVE BEEN TOLD THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. AS OF THIS WRITING, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THEY WANTED TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME, UNFIXED. I TOLD THEM TO GET IT REPAIRED. THE CAR IS TO DANGEROUS TO TAKE BACK UN-REPAIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, A WARNING INDICATOR APPEARED, NOTIFYING THE CONTACT TO PULL OVER WITHIN THE NEXT FIFTY MINUTES. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LARRY HILLIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (3211 N WESTWOOD BLVD, POPLAR BLUFF, MO 63901, (573) 785-5769). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS SEVERELY DISCHARGED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,321.
CONTINUALLY GETTING LOW VOLTAGE ISSUES DESPITE HAVING IT "FIXED" AT THE DEALER. PARKING BRAKE WON'T TURN OFF.
RADIO NOT WORKING PROBLEM WITH U CONNECT , CAR PARKED IN DRIVEWAY
STOP/START SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR TURNS OFF AT STOP LIGHT AND DOES NOT RESTART AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED. ALL ITEMS ON THE SHIFT INDICATOR BEGIN TO FLASH. CAR MUST BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE STOP/START SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
