ALL INTERIOR DOOR LATCHES DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. DOORS DO NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT.
ON ROUTE 414 HEADING SOUTH GOING ABOUT 49, MY HOOD POPPED OPEN AND BUSTED MY WINDSHIELD. NISSAN TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP ME WITH FIXING, REFUNDING OR TRADING FOR ANOTHER CAR. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP GET ME IN A SAFER CAR. I ALSO ASKED ABOUT A LOANER UNTIL THIS COULD BE FIXED AND THEY SAID NO.
GEAR STUCK IN PARK UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF IT. HAPPENS EVERY TIME I PARK MY CAR OR PUT IT IN PARK. NOTICED THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR SOMETIME SINCE 2016. I THINK THIS NEEDS TO INVESTIGATED AND A RECALL DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE DONE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. TOTALLY UNSAFE!!
WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK, APPARENTLY IT IS A SOLENOID ISSUE THAT NISSAN WILL NOT RECALL.
SHIFTER RELEASE IS STUCK
MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS RUSTED. THERE WERE OTHER PARTS THAT WERE ON A RECALL BECAUSE OF RUSTING I'VE HAD REPLACED, BUT THERE IS STILL MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER THAT IS RUSTING AS WELL. THIS IS ALL DOCUMENTED IN MY LAST SERVICE REPORT
THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID HAS FAILED IN THE CAR. I CAN NOT TAKE THE CAR OUT OF PARK.THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG NISSANS AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. NUMEROUS DEALERS HAVE SAID THAT THE PIECE IN THE SHIFT LOCK THAT NISSAN USES IS DEFECTIVE. NISSAN IS REQUIRING ME TO PAY $1,000 TO FIX.
OUT OF KNOW WHERE MY CAR WILL NOT GO INTO DRIVE, STUCK IN PARK. SO I BEEN HAVING TO PUSH IN THE SHIFT LOCK. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO GOTO AND FROM WORK AGAIN WITHOUT DOING THIS. WHAT DO I DO
ON ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN THE STREET HEADING TOWARDS THE FREEWAY. I WAS GOING TO TAKE THE STREETS BUT THE FREEWAY IS ALWAYS THE FASTEST OPTION. I GOT ON THE FREEWAY WITH NO PROBLEM AND STARTED TO INCREASE SPEED. AS I SPED UP, I STARTED TO FEEL MY CAR SHUTTER. I CONTINUED WITH MY DRIVE AND THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. IM HEADING TOWARDS MY EXIT AND I START TO STOP MY CAR, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE TURN OFF WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY. I ALMOST HIT TWO CARS AND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. AT FIRST I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I WAS IN FEAR OF MY SAFETY. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD OF MY CAR TO SEE WHAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED. I WAS STILL IN SHOCK BECAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT STARTED PERFECTLY NORMAL LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. WITH A LOT OF TRAFFIC AND ABOUT 3 CARS HONKING AT ME, I THEN PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN AND SHORTLY DOWN THE STREET A COUPLE BLOCKS AWAY THE CAR DOES IT AGAIN TO ME, THIS TIME ALMOST CAUSING ANOTHER ACCIDENT. I WAS SO TERRIFIED I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE HE SAID THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH NISSAN ALTIMA TRANSMISSIONS PARTICULARLY THE 2013 MODELS. I REACHED OUT TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAVE NO WARRANTY OR COVERAGE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AND SAD BECAUSE THE MAKERS OF THIS VEHICLE COULD HAVE TAKEN MY LIFE. I PUT MY TRUST AND MONEY INTO A VEHICLE TO FIND OUT IT HAS PROBLEMS THAT NISSAN ARE WELL AWARE OF AND WILL NOT BOTHER FIXING. THE CAR ONLY HAS AROUND 80,000 AND I'M STILL PAYING IT OFF. IM JUST STILL IN SHOCK BECAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT.
HANDLES ARE BREAKING FROM THE INSIDE CAUSING AN ISSUE WHERE I CAN'T OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE. DRIVER SIDE AND NOW ONE OF MY BACK DOORS IS DOING SAME THING! I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS FOR THIS YEAR OF ALTIMA SEDAN
THE GEAR SHIFT IS STUCK AND WILL NOT MOVE UNLESS A PIN IS INSERTED INTO HOLE ON SIDE OF GEARSHIFT. I OWN 2 OF THESE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMAS AND THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS WAY TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE FOR THIS NOT TO BE A PROBLEM.
THE FACTORY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT CREATES AN ENORMOUS SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. USING THE HIGH BEAMS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SEE THE ROAD, BUT PRESENTS A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS. NISSAN ACTS AS IF THEY DON'T KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM, BUT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED!
RECENTLY I CAUGHT A FLAT AND PULLED OVER ON THE SHOULDER ON I95 TO PUT ON MY SPEAR TIRE AFTER I WAS FINISH AND GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND WAS PROCEEDING TO PULL OFF,I COULDN'T. TURNS OUT MY SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE. BEING STRANDED ON THE SHOULDER OF I95 WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR UNTIL A TOW TRUCK CAME WAS A VERY FEARFUL MOMENT AND FEELING KNOWING THAT THE CARS AND TRUCK ZIPPING BYE CAN POSSIBLY HIT ME BY ACCIDENT WHILE I WAIT ON THE SHOULDER WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK. AFTER THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER CAME TO ME AND MY FAMILY'S RESCUE AND THE HE SHOWED ME HOW TO BYPASS THE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE. AFTER EXPERIENCING SUCH A HORRIFIC ORDEAL I DECIDE TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM AND COME TO FIND OUT IT SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE THAT MANY (2013-15) NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT LOCK MECHANISM THAT PREVENTS THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER FROM COMING OUT OF PARK. THE SHIFTER REMAINS STUCK IN PARK POSITION AND WILL NOT SHIFT, NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR NISSAN NOT TO KNOW OF THE SERIOUS MATTER THAT QUALIFIES AS A LEGITIMATE RECALL. THERE IS A ELECTRIC INTERLOCK SOLENOID THAT WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED,IT UNLOCKS THE GEAR SHIFTER TO ALLOW NORMAL GEAR CHANGING OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE ONLY WAY TO DISENGAGE THE SHIFTER FROM PARK, ONE WOULD HAVE TO PRY OPEN THE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE COVER WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND INSERT THE SCREWDRIVER IN THE RELEASE SLOT TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER. NISSAN KNOWS VERY WELL THAT THEY SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT HASN'T DONE NOTHING. VIDEOS FOUND ONLINE SHOW DOITYOURSELFERS HOW TO HACK THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT PAYING THE NISSAN DEALERS $1,000 REPAIR COST.
THE INSIDE DRIVER'S SIDE HANDLE HAS BROKEN. THIS HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE MORNING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. IT WAS VERY COLD THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WAS BELOW FREEZING AT THE TIME OF THIS OCCURRING. IT IS LOOSE AND WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE WINDOW MUST BE ROLLED DOWN AND THE DOOR MUST BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE CAR IS ON OR OFF.
TRANSMISSION CODES CAUSES VEHICLE TO STALL. IT CAN TAKE OVER FIVE SECONDS FOR CAR TO MOVE WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PETAL ALL THE WAY DOWN. SOMETIMES I COULD BE AT A STOPLIGHT AND IT WON'T MOVE FOR FIVE SECONDS OR MORE. WHEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY, IT COULD TAKE UP TO TEN SECONDS TO MAINTAIN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. THESE ARE THE SAME THINGS THAT HAPPENED WHEN THE FIRST TRANSMISSION WAS IN THE VEHICLE BEFORE I HAD IT REPLACED
TAKATA RECALL: WHILE DRIVING ON A PAVED ROAD AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 45 MPH, THE RIGHT REAR SUBFRAME FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY DUE TO APPARENT CORROSION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT THE LOCATION OF THE BUSHING TO THE FRAME. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE REAR WHEEL OFFSET AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPROMISED. THIS IS A HISTORIC PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND THEY HAVE NOT ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM WITH THE NEW MODEL IN 2013. IT IS UNSAFE AND UNFAIR THAT OWNERS PAY FOR NISSAN'S REFUSAL TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE RUSTED TOTALL OUT AND MY I AM SO LUCKY I DIDN'T DIE OR THE PEDESTRIAN !!!!! I LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND ALMOST HIT SOMEONE AS A RESULT! WHY IS THE WORLD WOULD THIS PART RUST OUT??? WHY IS SOMETHING NOT BEING DONE TO FIX THIS SAFETY CONCERN? BECAUSE NO ONE HAS DIED FROM IT YET? I BEGAN DOING RESEARCH AFTER MY VEHICLE DID THIS TO ME THE OTHER DAY TWICE. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40-50 MPH THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF. LIGHTS ILLUMINED ON THE DASH BOARD AND THANKFULLY I DID HAVE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES SO I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN PARK HOWEVER THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS AND DEADLY SITUATION TO EITHER ME OR INNOCENT BYSTANDERS/DRIVERS. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN NISSANS.
MY DOOR LATCHES HAVE STOP WORKING STARTING IN JUNE WITH THE FIRST ONE NOW THERE IS THREE NONE WORKING THE CAR WAS STATIONARY EACH TIME

MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 2.5S HAS STARTED HAVING THIS ISSUE - OFTEN THE GEAR STICK WILL GET STUCK IN PARK MODE AND WON'T COME OUT. THIS HAPPENS ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. SCREW DRIVER OR A SHARP ITEM NEEDS TO BE USED TO RELEASE THE SHIFT LOCK. THIS IS PAINFUL AND IT CAN OCCUR ANYTIME. I TOOK TO DEALER. DEALER SAID IT COULD COST MORE THAN 500$ TO FIX THE SHIFT LOCK. THE GEAR SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK THIS IS MY 2ND SHIFTER WITHIN 2 YEARS, BEEN REPLACED BEFORE NOW IT MESSING UP AGAIN. I NEED HELP WITH THIS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY CAR JUST STARTED TO LOSE POWER, IN A SPEED ZONE OF 60MPH MY CAR WAS QUICKLY DROPPING SPEED/POWER. NO CHECK ENGINE LIKE CAME ON, NOR HAD ANY SIGNS OF MY CAR NEEDING SERVICE CAME UP, NOTHING. WHEN I WOULD TRY SPEEDING UP IT STARTED TO MAKE A RATTLING NOISE, STILL LESS POWER. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY BECAUSE THERE WERE CARS COMING VERY FAST AND ONCE I PRESSED ON MY BRAKE TO MAKE THE STOP, MY CAR STALLED. IT WOULDN'T TURN ON ANYMORE AND I HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE. THIS WAS SERIOUSLY SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE, THIS HAPPENED AT NIGHT TIME WHEN I WAS TRAVELING. I'VE READ VERY SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE YEAR AND MODEL OF MY CAR ONLINE ABOUT IT BEING A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T KNOW WHY THERE ISN'T A RECALL IF IT'S SUCH A DANGEROUS ISSUE. MY CAR HAS JUST BEEN PARKED FOR 6 WEEKS BECAUSE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND IT'S DRIVING 'NORMAL', BUT I'M NOT TAKING THAT RISK AGAIN OF DRIVING IT.
