TRUCK MAKES GRINDING NOISE AND WONT STOP I EAS DEIVING IT IN THE HIGHWAY . BRAKE LIGTHS AND CHECK ENGINE CAME ON ..TOK IT TO CHECK THE CHECK ENGINE AND IT SAYS CODE C1179 DELTA S SENSOR. I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH AND LOOK LIKE THERE IS A LOT OF COMPLAINS REGARDING THIS ISSUE..PLEASE HELP IS MY WIFE AND KID DAILY TRUCK.
DRIVE IN PARKING LOT WITH SLOW SPEED. RED BREAK LIGHT IS SUDDENLY ON THEN THE GRINDING SOUND IS OCCURRED. IF TRY TO TOUCH THE BREAK, YOU FEEL IT IS DIFFICULT TO RESPONSE. IT SEEMS THE BREAK IS ENGAGED. IT WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE ENGINE THEN TURN IT ON. THE RED "BREAK" LIGHT IS OFF THEN BACK TO NORMAL. NO ANY BEAK OIL LEAKING. GO GARAGE TO CHECK THE ODB2 CODE AND THERE IS NO ANY ERROR CODE FOR IT. IT SEEMS THE BREAK BOOSTER GETS MESSED UP AND NO CODE RECORDING FOR 2004 ARMADA. IT IS SAFETY ISSUE THAT THE BREAK WILL ENGAGE RANDOMLY. IT IS LUCKY THAT IT HAPPENS IN THE PARKING LOT WITH ALMOST STOP SPEED. IT WILL BE TERRIBLE WHEN IT HAPPEN IN THE HIGH WAY.
ALOT OF TIMES WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKES YOU HERE A NOISE, SCRUBBING, BRAKE PADS GOES TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOOR , LIGHTS COME ON AND UNABLE TO STOP PROPERLY HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF TO GET THE LIGHTS TO GO AWAY THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS BEING UNABLE TO STOP
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH ON A CITY STREET AND STEP ON THE BRAKES WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT REAL SOFT AND I COULD HEAR A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE BRAKES AND THE ABS AND VDC LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE I COULD CONTINUE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AND I 13 TIMES.
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA AND HAD THE BRAKE LIGHT COME ON YESTERDAY FOLLOWED BY THE LIMITED BRAKING, SHUTTERING AND PULSING OF THE BRAKE PEDAL.. THIS IS MY THIRD INCIDENT, IT HAPPEN IN YEAR 2014, 2015 AND APR 29 2016. AFTER TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT, THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF THEN STOPS NORMALLY AGAIN. I HAVE BROUGHT MY ARMADA TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN COON RAPID MN. THEY CHARGED ME 130$ (DIAGNOSTIC FEE) AND NO PROBLEM SOLVED. AFTER RESEARCH ON INTERNET AFTER MY THIRD INCIDENT, I LEARNED THAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION PENDING ON THIS ISSUES IN STATE OF CALIFORNIA. WHY NISSAN IS IGNORING THIS PROBLEM?. WE ARE SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE NOW, I HAVE SPENT 40K TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE BACK IN 2004. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE BRAKES MADE A GRINDING NOISE. THERE WAS A DECREASE IN STOPPING POWER WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
ISSUE IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND DELTA SENSOR. TRUCK HAS 85000 MILES ON IT. THE BRAKES KEEP FAILING, AND YOU NEED TO PULL OVER, AND RESTART THE TRUCK TO GET GOING AGAIN, SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES. NISSAN HAS LOOKED AT IT, BUT WON'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY WITNESS IT. OR THEY READ THE CODE.HOWEVER, WHEN YOU SHUT OFF THE ENGINE TO CLEAR BRAKES, AND IT CLEARS THE CODE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION, AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE, BRAKES TEND TO PRESS TO THE FLOOR, GRINDING NOISE AND THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO PULL OVER THE VEHICLE, TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART IT. IT RANDOMLY HAPPENS, BUT I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT IF AND WHEN I TOW OR AM ON THE HIGHWAY, I DON'T WON'T MY BRAKES TO NOT WORK. COULD KILL ME...

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON. HAD TO PUMP BRAKES WHILE BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY TO STOP. SHUT CAR OFF AND LET SIT. RESTARTED CAR AND BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OFF. WAS ABLE TO BRAKE AGAIN BUT BRAKES FELT SOFT. HAS BRAND NEW BRAKE PADS FROM APPROXIMATELY 2K MILES EARLIER. TOOK TO MAST BODY SHOT . PAID $90 FOR DIAGNOSTIC. C1179 CODE ERROR WAS LISTED IN MALFUNCTION FOR DELTA STROKE SENSATIONAL FAULT. RECOMMENDATION WAS TAKE TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR POSSIBLE UPDATE IN SOFTWARE. MAST SERVICE 574_546 2155 DID NOT HAVE EXPERTISE TO FIX ISSUE. CODE WAS NOT CURRENTLY MALFUNCTIONING AT SERVICE CENTER. PROBABLY RESET WHEN RESTARTING VEHICLE BUT DIAGNOSTIC STILL HAD ERROR CODE IN MEMORY.
WE ARE HAVING A BRAKE ISSUE THAT IS VERY RANDOM. SO FAR IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS. WHEN IT HAPPENS THE BREAK PEDAL WILL GET VERY SOFT AND THE ABS WILL ACTIVATE ALONG WITH THE BREAK LIGHT ON THE DASH. WHEN YOU TURN THE ARMADA OFF AND RESTART EVERYTHING RESETS AND IS NORMAL. WE HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, AND HAD THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED. THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED BY NISSAN, ALL THEY SAY IS ALL THE PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND OR REPROGRAMMED SO UNLESS IT CAN BE DUPLICATED THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE RELIABLE. WE ARE ALSO SURPRISED THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL BECAUSE OF SAFETY
BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE MAKES A GRINDING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. BRAKING IS IMPAIRED. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE MAKES THE PROBLEM GO AWAY.
I WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE DASH AND IT WAS MAKING GRINDING NOISES AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED AGAIN AND IT WAS OK. IT HAPPENS PERIODICALLY.
WHILE DRIVING BRAKE LIGHT, VDC OFF LIGHT, AND SLIP LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN BRAKES APPLIED, VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE HAPPENED AND BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD SAFELY AND TURN CAR OFF AND BACK ON. ONCE CAR WAS TURNED ON, LIGHTS REMAINED ON AND BRAKES FUNCTIONED NORMAL. LUCKILY, I WAS NOT GOING VERY FAST AND NO OTHER CARS WERE CLOSE OR AN ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE RESULTED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 3 CHILDREN, SUDDENLY THE VDC AND SLIP LIGHTS CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY THE BRAKE LIGHT. WHEN I TRIED TO SLOW AROUND A CURVE AND USE THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN I HEARD AND FELT A GRINDING SENSATION UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE. LUCKILY, I MANAGED TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHERE I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE SYSTEM RESET. *TR
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE 35 MPH SLOWED DOWN TO GO AROUND SHARP CURVE. WHEN VEHICLE DROVE AROUND CURVE THERE WERE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF US THAT STOPPED SUDDENLY. APPLIED BRAKES AND PEDAL PULSED AND REQUIRED ALOT OF EFFORT TO SLOW DOWN. WAS UNABLE TO SLOW VEHICLE DOWN FAST ENOUGH AND REAR ENDED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US. CAUSED A 3 CAR PILEUP. THE 3 PASSENGERS IN OUR 04 ARMADA SUFFERED WHIPLASH, THE DRIVER SPRAINED HER WRIST AND WAS OUT OF WORK FOR 3 DAYS BECAUSE OF ACCIDENT. THE NISSAN ARMADA WAS TOTALED AND HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE BRAKES NOT WORKING CORRECTLY IS WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. *TR
I CURRENTLY DRIVE MY NISSAN ARMADA TO WORK 3 TIMES A WEEK. ON OCCASION THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON OUT OF NOWHERE AND AS SOON AS I STEP ON THE BRAKE A LOUD GRINDING AND SPRINGING NOISE STARTS TO TAKE PLACE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN A BIT AND PULL OVER. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND AFTER A MINUTE I TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AGAIN. THIS CONTINUOUSLY HAPPENS AND I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ESPECIALLY IF MY KIDS ARE INSIDE THE CAR. I SEE OVER 300 COMPLAINTS AND YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. WE SEE ALL THESE GMC RECALLS, YET HERE WE ARE WITH THIS ARMADA IN JUST ABOUT THE SAME DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE LOST MOST OF ITS BRAKING POWER. THE PEDAL WENT SOFT AND BEGAN PULSATING WITH A GRINDING NOISE. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. IT ACTED AS THOUGH THE ABS SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED. THE BRAKE SYSTEM STAYED IN THE FAILED MODE UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THE COMPUTER WOULD RESET ITSELF. *TR
I HAVE ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES ON A FREQUENT BASIS. SINCE I PURCHASED MY CAR, I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO SEVERAL NISSAN DEALERS. WHEN MY CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND I WOULD ALSO GET THE RUN AROUND. I HAVE BEEN TOLD MY NISSAN THAT UNLESS THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP THEN THEY ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HEAR A LOUD GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO WORK IS IF TURN OFF THE TRUCK WHILE CRUISING AND TURN IT BACK ON WHILE CRUISING AND IT FIXES THE ISSUE AND I AM ABLE TO STOP FINE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN BEFORE AND THEY FAILED TO HELP ME. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN. THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE. THE NISSAN ARMADA 2004 WAS THE FIRST ARMADA MODEL, WHICH THIS ISSUE IS A FACTORY DEFECT THAT IS IMPACTING HUNDREDS OF CAR OWNERS. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, SINCE BRAKES IS LIFE THREATENING. *TR
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY. IT COULD HAPPEN ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH AND THEN NOT AT ALL FOR THE NEXT MONTH. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE TRUCK WHILE CRUISING AND TURN IT BACK ON WHILE CRUISING AND IT FIXES THE ISSUE AND I AM ABLE TO STOP FINE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN BEFORE AND THEY FAILED TO HELP ME. THROUGH HUNDREDS OF POSTS OF ARMADA OWNER WITH THE SAME ISSUE IT SEEM TO BE THE BRAKE BOOSTER IN WHICH AN BE UP TO 1500$ TO FIX. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS FIX AND IT SEEM THAT IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. WERE TALKING ABOUT BRAKES. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND AM VERY CONCERNED. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS REPAIR - THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 20 TIMES. *TR
WHILE LEAVING WORK, I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 20MPH WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, I HEARD A GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRUCK FINALLY CAME TO A STOP AFTER I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND RESTARTED IT, THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO BRAKE NORMALLY. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I HAVE OWNED MY TRUCK FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND IT HAS CONTINUED TO PERFORM THIS WAY PERIODICALLY(2 TIMES A MONTH). THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I PRAY EVERYTIME WE DRIVE IT. NISSAN HAS YET TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. FOR THIS REASON, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN PRODUCT. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL GO ON WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED AT THIS TIME THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF BREAKING POWER AS WELL AS A GRINDING AND JERKING MOTION. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT IF I TURN ON THE VEHICLE AND LEAVE IT IN PART POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO, THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL ALSO GO ON. IF I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, THE SAME LOSS OF BRAKING POWER OCCURS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE LOSS OF BRAKING POWER IN VARIOUS SITUATIONS FROM GOING 75 MILES ON THE FREEWAY TO AS LITTLE AS BRINGING THE CAR OUT OF PARKED POSITION. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME LOSS OF POWER AND NISSAN HAS FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50MPH AND TRIED TO STOP VEHICLE AND IT BARELY STOPPED AND THE BRAKES MADE A SCRUBBING SOUND. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SOMETIMES WHEN I FIRST START THE VEHICLE UP. *TR
DRIVING ON SURFACE STREETS GOING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN A THUD SOUND CAME FROM UNDER THE CAR AND THE BRAKES WHEN PRESSED SCREETCHED AND WERE MUSHY AND NOT EFFECTIVELY STOPPING THE CAR, IN ADDITION THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH LIGHT UP BUT WAS NOT ENGAGED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND COME TO A STOP BY REPEATILY LIGHTLY PUSHING ON THE BRAKE AND JUST LETTING THE MOMENTUM OF THE CAR DIE DOWN. ONCE STOPPED I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND LOOKED UNDER THE CAR FOR ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE OR LEAKS AND POPPED THE HOOD OF THE CAR TO DO THE SAME. FOUND NO EVIDANCE OF ANY DAMAGE OR PROBLEMS. WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR THE LIGHT ON THE DASH WAS OFF AND THE BRAKES WHEN PRESSED BECAME HARD AND NO SOUND CAME FROM THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES WORKED AS THEY SHOULD. *TR
