PURCHASED 2004 NISSAN ARMADA IN DEC. 03. AT APPROX. 4000 MI STARTED NOTICING VIBRATION IN BRAKING AND THEN SHIMMY IN FRONT END SHORTLY THEREAFTER. TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME I WAS SUPPOSED TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE ABOUT ONCE A WEEK TO RESET THE BRAKES. THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS COMMON IN NISSAN AS WELL AS OTHER MAKES OF TRUCKS. HAVE OWNED 5 OTHER MAKES OF SUV'S AND NEVER HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM FROM NOT USING THE PARKING BRAKE. THE SERVICE DEPT. TURNED THE ROTORS AND THE TRUCK WAS FINE UNTIL ABOUT 10,000 MILES WHEN IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. HAVE IT BACK IN THE SHOP TODAY WHERE I WAS JUST TOLD THAT NISSAN HAS ISSUED A BULLETIN ON THE BRAKE PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. STEERING WHEEL STARTED VIBRATING UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WE PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW IN NOVEMBER OF 2003 WITH ONLY 10 MILES ON ODOMETER. AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP AND ONLY 6,280 MILES, THE FRONT WHEELS BEGAN TO SHIMMY REALLY BAD DURING BRAKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE REASON OR LOGIC THEY GAVE WAS THIS WAS PROBABLY DUE TO THE ROTORS BECOMING WET AND HEATED UNDER BRAKING DURING THE RAINY PERIOD. THE REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM WAS TO REMOVE THE FROM TIRES AND DO AN ON VEHICLE TURN OF THE ROTORS AS I WAITED WHICH TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF. SO FAR, SO GOOD, BUT I EXPECT TO BE BACK IN A FEW MONTHS. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS TO NISSAN DURING MY FEEDBACK ON THE CUSTOMER SURVEY FORM BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REPLY. *LA
VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHIMMY WHEN BRAKING. TOOK TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD (AT 3700 MILES) THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. ALL THEY COULD DO WAS RESURFACE THE ROTORS AT THIS TIME. I WAS INFORMED IT WAS A "QUICK FIX" AND WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. NOW, THE VEHICLE HAS 6300 MILES AND IS BACK IN SERVICE FOR THE SAME THING. THIS TIME THEY ARE REPLACING THE ROTORS/PADS. YET, THEY WILL HAVE MY CAR THERE FOR 2 WEEKS. I GUESS I WILL SEE THEM AGAIN IN ABOUT ANOTHER 2500 MILES OR SO. MY ARMADA IS NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS IS HAPPENING TO, I KNOW OF OTHERS AND SO DOES THE DEALER WHERE I TAKE MY CAR. THE BRAKES ARE NOT RIGHT FOR THIS CAR.*AK
WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED VEHICLE SHAKES, AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMIES. *AK
THE CONSUMER NOTICED WHILE DRIVING THE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE CONSUMER DROVE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE PROBLEM INSPECTED. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE BRAKE PADS WERE TO SMALL FOR THE VEHICLE AND THAT CAUSED LOST OF BRAKING POWER. THE BRAKE PADS AND THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*JB
