For several years now since I received this car from a family member gas gauge has been not working I contacted Nissan they said my year or VIN number was it affected but that's not accurate because it is so what can I do
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED. THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK ONCE IT GETS DOWN TO 1/4 OF THE TANK LEFT. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON A CITY STREET WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CAR JUST TURNED OFF. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY STEER OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON BECAUSE MY FUEL GAUGE SAID I STILL HAD 1/4 TANK LEFT OF GAS. THIS COULD'VE BEEN FAR MORE DANGEROUS IF I WOULD'VE RUN OUT OF GAS ON A FREEWAY OR HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL FOR THE FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY, BUT WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID MY VIN DIDN'T MATCH THE RECALL.
THE FUEL GAGE GETS TO ONE QUARTER AND IT STARTS TO BE INACCURATE AND WILL RUN OUT OF GAS SHOWING ONE QUARTER TANK. THE FUEL GAGE WILL NOT WORK RIGHT UNTIL YOU HAVE OVER THREE QUARTERS IN. I GOT SO LOW ON FUEL THE LIGHT WAS ON THREE DAYS AGO. I PUT A FEW GALLONS IN WHEN I GOT TO TOWN IT SHOWER THERE WAS 1/8 OF A TANK BY THE TIME I GOT HOME IT WAS SHOWING A LITTLE OVER 1/4 WERE IT WAS WHEN IT RAN OUT OF GAS 1 1/2 YEARS AGO. THE NEXT MORNING I HAD TO GO TO TOWN AND IT SHOWED I HAD ALMOST HALF A TANK BY THE TIME I GOT THERE. I'VE PUT ABOUT 7 GALLONS IN IT AND THE FUEL GAGE IS AT THE SAME PLACE. WHEN I FILLED THE TANK UP THE FUEL GAGE STARTED WORKING PROBABLY. I'VE LOOKED AND THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON SOME NISSAN ARMADA ALREADY BUT THIS ONE ISN'T ON THE LIST
FUEL READS AT AROUND 1/4 EVEN WHEN EMPTY. NOT KNOWING IT NEEDED FUEL, THE CAR RAN OUT OF GAS, STRANDING THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. VEHICLE WAS GOING N MOTION AT 35 MPH, VEHICLE WAS GUIDED TO LESS CROWDED SIDE STREET AND STALLED. VEHICLE WAS PUSHED TO AN OPEN SPACE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO DISPLAY THE PROPER FUEL LEVEL. IF THE FUEL LEVEL WAS BELOW A QUARTER OF A TANK, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF. ROCK HILL NISSAN (550 GALLERIA BLVD, ROCK HILL, SC 29730, (803) 818-2713) WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE DEALER STATED THAT FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT INDICATE ACTUAL FUEL LEVEL. THE FUEL GAUGE STOPS AROUND 1/4 TANK ... AND THE TANK COULD BE EMPTY.
MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA RAN OUT OF GAS AND I WAS IN THE HIGHWAY IN THE CENTER LANE THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED QUARTER TANK I TOOK A PICTURE TO HAVE BECAUSE I WAS CONFUSED IT SHOWING HALF TANK AND I WAS OUT OF GAS.
FUEL GAUGE READS INACCURATELY, SHOWING A FUEL LEVEL EVEN WHEN EMPTY. A RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2010 FOR OTHER 2005 ARMADA MODELS. A CALL TO NISSAN (CASE#32522656) SHOWED THAT OVER 340,000 VEHICLES WERE RECALLED BY THE NHTSA (CAMPAIGN #10V074000), BUT MY VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THIS CAMPAIGN. AS NOTED IN THE OTHER RECALL BY THE NHTSA, THIS COULD RESULT IN UNEXPECTEDLY RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, DISABLING THE VEHICLE.
MY GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN STUCK ON 1/4 OF A TANK SINCE THURSDAY I CRUNK UP MY CAR THIS MORNING,IT WAS FINEI WENT BACK IN MY CAR WAS CUT OFF SO MY NEIGHBOR WENT AND GOT A GALLON OF GAS POURED IT IN MY GAS TANK IN MY CAR CRUNK BACK UP. THEN I WENT AND PUT $15 IN MY TANK AM I GAS HAND NEVER MOVEDSO I CHECKED ONLINE AND I SEEN MANY THINGS THAT WAS TALKING ABOUT RECALLS SO I'LL CALL THE ONE 800 NUMBER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR DID NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT AND I KNOW THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY CAR AND I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THAT NOR DO I HAVE THE MONEY TO GET MY CAR DIAGNOSED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BECAUSE I KNOW MY VIN NUMBER SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE RECALL LIST AND I REFUSE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE FIXED I SEE WHERE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD THIS PROBLEM AS WELL
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO STALL (IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY). I RAN OUT OF GAS WITH WHAT MY GAGE SAID WAS A LITTLE OVER A QUARTER OF A TANK LEFT. THERE WAS NO GAS LIGHT ON. ONCE SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO BRING ME GAS, MY CAR STARTED BACK UP. I LOOKED UP RECALLS ON THIS MODEL, AND EVEN THOUGH MY VIN IS "NOT EFFECTED", I BELIEVE IT IS PART OF THIS RECALL. (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V074000)
MY ARMADA RAN OUT OF GAS AFTER HAVING PICKED UP MY DAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL ON A CITY STREET. I BARELY MADE IT ACROSS THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH THE STEERING WHEEL STIFFENING UP. I'VE RAN OUT OF GAS THREE TIMES SINCE THEN AND EACH TIME THE GAS TANK SHOWS THERE IS AT LEAST A QUARTER TANK LEFT. THE DEALER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS AN ISSUE SINCE MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF "THOSE" AFFECTED. WHAT CAN I DO? THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED IN FEBRUARY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 96000 MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 187,355. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATELY DISPLAYING THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, BETWEEN HALF AND ONE QUARTER TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. THIS HAS CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING A DANGEROUS SAFETY SITUATION. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AND NEEDS TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENDER UNIT INSIDE THE FUEL TANK TOGETHER WITH THE O-RING.
ON MARCH 18, 2016, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING OUR 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AT APPROX 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE LOST POWER, LUCKILY MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO STEER AND COAST VEHICLE TO THE SIDE.THIS COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGEDY.GAS TANK NEEDLE INDICATED THAT VEHICLE HAD A QUARTER TANK OF GAS IN IT. NO LOW GAS LIGHT INDICATOR WAS ON OR EVER CAME ON!! OUR TEENAGE SON HAD BEEN DRIVING IT FOR OVER A WEEK. WHAT IF HE WAS DRIVING THIS WHEN THIS OCCURRED, HE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE!!!! VEHICLE WAS AT 87,632 MILES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I CAME TO THIS WEBSITE AND OBSERVED WHERE OTHER DRIVERS HAD THE SAME INCIDENT HAPPEN.ALSO OBSERVED WHERE NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS FLAW IN THE ARMADA. I ADVISED MY HUSBAND ABOUT THIS AFTER HE HAD ALREADY CALLED A TOW TRUCK. ONCE HE PUT GAS IN IT, IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN REALLY BAD, BUT IT WAS ONLY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT SAVED MY HUSBAND SURELY NOT NISSAN!! USUALLY KEEP A 1/2 OF TANK OF GAS OR MORE, BUT TEENAGE SON HAD BEEN DRIVING IT FOR THE LAST WEEK. WHAT IF MY TEENAGER WAS DRIVING IT WHEN IT SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY?? THIS PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE SAME OUTCOME.NO LOW GAS LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON TO WARN MY HUSBAND THAT GAS WAS LOW. MY HUSBAND, SON OR SOMEONE ELSE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!! THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING 65 MPH DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WITH. AS I APPROACHED A CURVE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. I HAPPENED TO BE IN THE FAR LEFT LANE, AND WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO A NARROW SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. BY THE TIME I GOT STOPPED, I WAS SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE CONCRETE HIGHWAY DIVIDER AND THE FAST LANE OF TRAFFIC. HIGHWAY ASSISTANCE, AAA AND MY FATHER CAME TO MY ASSISTANCE. MY FATHER THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL, WHICH I DISPUTED BECAUSE THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR DID NOT ILLUMINATE, AND THE GAUGE WAS AT 1/4 TANK. IT TURNED OUT I WAS OUT OF GAS. I STOPPED RELYING ON THE GAUGE, AND STARTED FILLING UP AS SOON AS THE GAUGE HIT 1/4. LATER, I RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN THE GAUGE READ 1/2 TANK! OK. TIME TO GET THIS REPAIRED. THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY YEAR ARMADA, FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. GREAT! ONCE I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, THEY SAID THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDER WAS VIN SPECIFIC. MY MOTHER RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE THAT THE PART SHOULD BE COVERED. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO PROVIDE AN OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS FOR CORRESPONDENCE WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE, AND TO NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIRS, AS I EXPECTED THIS TO BE COVERED. IN A SUBSEQUENT CALL TO CUSTOMER CARE WITH THE "BAD FUEL SENDER" DIAGNOSIS, I WAS TOLD I DID NOT MEET THE "HISTORY OF GOODWILL PARAMETERS", SO MY REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED. I DECIDED NOT TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD ME THERE WAS $250 OF LABOR TO DISMANTLE THE CAR JUST TO DIAGNOSE, AND IT WOULD BE $250 MORE TO PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER TO WHERE IT WOULD BE DRIVABLE! SINCE THE FUEL SENDER REPAIR WAS QUOTED AT $800, I RELUCTANTLY WENT AHEAD WITH THE REPAIR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. SOMEONE COULD DIE. *TR
AS I WAS ON MY WAY HOME DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY TRUCK CUT OFF, THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN OVER A YEAR, EACH TIME I NOTICED MY FUEL GAUGE WAS READING 1/4 OF A TANK, SO I CHECK FOR RECALLS ON THE 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM BUT WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN CORP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THAT COULD BE, IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2005 ARMADA FOR THE FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM AND MY VEHICLES FUEL SYSTEM IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WHY ISN'T THE RECALL ON ALL NISSAN ARMADAS OF THE SAME YEAR. *TR

WE COULD NOT PUSH MY SUV OFF TO THE SIDE. SO I TOOK THE SUV TO CAMPBELLNELSON NISSAN OF EDMONDS, I WAS TOLD THERE'S NO RECALL ON MY SUV VIN SPECIFIC. I WAS TOLD THERE'S A RECALL 2005-2009 BUT ON NOT ON MY VIN #. THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS BAD AND WAS NOT READING IT SHOWS 1/4 OF A TANK BUT IT WAS OUT OF GAS. SO WAY IS MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA NOT ON THE RECALL LIST WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE TO GET KILLED! I WANT NISSAN TO PAY FOR MY SUV TO GET FIXED ASAP THIS IS SO WRONG MY SUV IS STILL AT THERE SHOP. *TR
