DRIVING HOME ABOUT 45 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. I SLOWED DOWN FOR THE UPCOMING RED LIGHT BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK, THEY WENT INTO ABS MODE SO I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE PEDAL, RE-APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKES STARTED PULSING AND GRINDING VIOLENTLY. I COULD NOT STOP FOR THE RED LIGHT SO I DROPPED IT DOWN INTO 4TH GEAR AND MADE A HARD RIGHT TURN ABOUT 25 MPH. THANKFULLY THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC SO NO ACCIDENT AND NO ONE WAS HURT. I DROVE THE REMAINING TWO MILES HOMES AT 25 MPH AND WITHOUT USING THE BRAKES UNTIL I GOT TO MY DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED VERY LIGHT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND LITTLE NOISE BUT NOT MUCH STOPPING POWER, THANKFULLY MY DRIVEWAY IS UPHILL. WHEN I GOT HOME I LOOKED UP ARMADA BRAKE FAILURE AND REALIZED THAT THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF POSTS DATING BACK TO 2004, SO THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND COMPUTER. *JS

I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP AND I COULDN'T. THE BRAKES STARTED MAKING A GRINDING NOISE AND THE E-BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. IT SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH FOR ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE AND FINALLY ABLE TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP. I PUT IT IN PARK CHECKED THE E-BRAKE AND IT WASN'T ON AND PUT BACK INTO DRIVE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN A SLOW ROLL I CHECKED THE BRAKES AND IT DID THE SAME THING. I PUT IT IN PARK TURNED IT OFF AND CALLED MT HUSBAND. WHEN TURNED HE TURNED IT BACK ON THE E-BRAKE LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE BRAKES WORKED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, HE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATED. A SLIPPAGE LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A DRY ROAD SURFACE. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE ROTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE TURNED, BUT THEY DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE ACTUAL FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES AND WAS NEVER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

SAME ISSUE EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING SPONGY BRAKES WHEN PRESSED NOT STOPPING, LOUD GRINDING NOISE, MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. CAN NHTSA HELP OUT THE LITTLE GUY FOR A CHANGE AND ORDER A RECALL FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE AT HAND WITH ALL NISSAN ARMADAS BREAKING SYSTEMS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUES BUT DOES NOT WANT TO FIX ITS PROBLEM. I GUESS IT TAKES A DEATH TO HAVE THEM LISTEN. IN ALL REALITY ITS NOT THE DEATH THAT WILL CAUSE THEM TO LISTEN OR FIX THE ISSUE AT HAND IT WILL BE THE LAW SUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THEIR UNSAFE PRACTICES. *KB

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COULD BE HEARD WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOTH A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE DEALER BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA, THE PROBLEM IS COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. WHEN TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS (<20MPH) THE BRAKE SYSTEM GIVES OUT COMPLETELY. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR, THE RED BRAKE DASH LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ABS AND VDC SYSTEMS GO INTO A CONFUSED ARRAY OF MIXED SIGNALS AND SOUNDS TRYING TO CORRECT THE FAILED BRAKE SYSTEM. AT THE TIME OF FAILURE THE BRAKING POWER IS <25% OF NORMAL. IN A PANIC STOP OR WHILE TRAILERING A LOAD THERE WOULD BE NO WAY TO AVOID A CRASH AND INJURY. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED 5 TIMES IN ONE DAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NISSAN. THE SCARIEST PART OF THIS FAILURE IS THAT BY TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING IT, RESETS THE SYSTEM FAILURE AND EVERYTHING FUNCTIONS COMPLETELY NORMAL FOR A TIME, LEADING THE DRIVER TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS JUST A COMPUTER ERROR THAT NEEDED RESET. NISSAN REPORTED THAT IT WAS CODE C1179, DELTA SENSOR FAILURE AND REQUIRED A NEW DELTA SENSOR AND BRAKE VACUUM BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 39,458 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, THIS VEHICLE IS RATED TO TOW 9100LBS, WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS THE VEHICLE CAN BARELY STOP ITS OWN WEIGHT. THE STOPPING DISTANCE DURING FAILURE GOING 20MPH WAS APPROX. 200 TO 300 FEET WITH ONLY ONE OCCUPANT. NISSAN KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS WHEN I CALLED THEM SO I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE THIS OCCURRENCE. UPON RESEARCHING I FOUND 48 COMPLAINTS THAT MATCH MINE ON ABOUTAUTOMOBILES.COM. THESE PEOPLE ALL TOOK THE TIME LIKE ME TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND VOICE THEIR CONCERNS IN MUCH DETAIL. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING ON ANY VEHICLE. PLEASE CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT!!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND AN ABNORMAL GRINDING AND PULSATION WAS EXHIBITED BY THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO PROPERLY DECELERATE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE CONSTANT FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

2005 NISSAN ARMADA- OUR PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE SAME AS COUNTLESS OTHERS WITH NO ANSWER IN SIGHT. WE WILL APPLY THE BRAKES WHEN WE ARE AT A SLOWER SPEED (<30MPH) AND THE BRAKES WILL FAIL. THEY PULSATE, GRIND, AND PUSH IN A SPONGEY FEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY MINIMAL BRAKING RESULTS. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS CAR WITH OUR 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SO YOU CAN IMAGINE OUR CONCERN. WE ARE PLANNING TO SELL THE CAR AND GET SOMETHING ELSE, BUT WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE BRAKES FIXED FIRST. BUT FROM WHAT I SEE, NISSAN IS GOING TO DO NOTHING TO HELP AND THE GOVERNMENT MUST BE TURNING A BLIND EYE TO AN ISSUE THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK FOR NOT JUST OWNERS OF THESE ARMADAS, BUT FOR OTHER DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS WALKING THE STREETS AS WELL. *KB

THE EMERGENCY HAND BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION ONCE RESTARTED BUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA HAVE BRAKE PROBLEMS THE VEHICLE AT NO PARTICULAR TIME THE BRAKES WILL FAIL HAVING A SPRING CLONK NOISE SEVERAL TIMES COMING FROM THE FRONT BRAKES WHEN THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL TRAVEL ALL THE WAY DOWN WITH NO BRAKING POWER TO THE WHEELS. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TO ME MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN NUMEROUS TIMES TO NISSAN DEALERS. UNFORTUNATELY DEALER CAN'T REPLICATE THIS PROBLEM TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. NOW MY WARRANTY IS OVER AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE DEALER WILL COVER THESE EXPENSES. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALERS THAT THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT SOMEBODY COULD DIE IF THERE IS NO BRAKES THAT NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THE BRAKES, SO FAR NISSAN HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. *KB

WHILE DRIVING THE 2005 NISSAN ARMADA, EXPERIENCED AN ENGAGE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM, CLANGING NOISE, LOSS OF BRAKING AT THE PEDAL, PARK LIGHT COMES ON. APPEARS AS THOUGH THE ABS SYSTEM HAS ENGAGED. ARMADA REMAINS LOCKED IN THIS POSITION EVEN AFTER STOPPING. THIS CONDITION IS RECOVERABLE BY TURN OFF THE POWER/KEY AND RESTARTING. SEEMS LIKE A COMPUTER JUST ENGAGED THE ABS BY MISTAKE. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS WITH THE NISSAN ARMADA SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE NEW. BASICALLY, THE BRAKES FAIL ON THE CAR AND IT BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IT BECOMES UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE ARMADA AND TITAN AND NISSAN CONTINUES TO DENY THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE NEARLY HAD 2 ACCIDENTS DURING THE INCIDENTS. THE DEALER STATES TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF RESETS IT BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO DETERMINE WHEN IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL BY NISSAN.

THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIANS STATED THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

WHEN DRIVING OUR NISSAN ARMADA, THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE UPON BRAKING. A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE BRAKE LIGHT APPEARS. AS THE CAR IS STILL MOVING & BRAKING AGAIN, THE GRINDING IS STILL THERE & IT SOUNDS LIKE METAL, HOWEVER, WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT FEELS LIKE THERE ARE NO BRAKES. I WOULD HAVE TO BRAKE WELL AHEAD TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AS I ACCELARTE THE GAS, THE ARMADA HAS A HARD TIME PICKING UP SPEED (THIS IS A V8 VEHICLE WITH LOTS OF POWER) & FEELS SLUGGISH TRYING TO GO BEYOND 40 MILES PER HOUR. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF COMPLETELY FOR A FEW MINUTES & RESTART VEHICLE. WE HAVE 2 CHILDREN THAT WE DRIVE AROUND IN THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH THE BRAKE PROBLEM. THIS INSTANCE HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN 4 OCCASIONS & BOTH MY HUSBAND & I EXPERIENCED IT. MY HUSBAND WAS ON THE FREEWAY WHEN IT HAPPENED TO HIM. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WENT STRAIGHT OVER TO NISSAN WITH KIDS IN TOW & PAID APPROXIMATELY $85 WITH NO RESULTS. SERVICE TECH STATES THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG & DID NOT FIX ANYTHING. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS BRAKING PROBLEM. THE BRAKING PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK. I STOPPED FOR A MINUTE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, & RESTARTED IT. THE PROBLEM THIS TIME DID NOT GO AWAY. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE. DOES SOMETHING TRAGIC NEED TO HAPPEN FIRST BEFORE NISSAN ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM? THERE ARE NUMEROUS FORUMS ON THE WEB CLAIMING BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH THE NISSAN ARMADA, HOWEVER, IT HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY ADDRESSED OR FIXED PERMANTLY. I DID MY RESEARCH & ALL I CAN SEE ARE TEMPORARY FIXES. PLEASE...PLEASE...BEFORE ANYTHING TRAGIC MAY HAPPEN (EX: TOYOTA/LEXUS BRAKE RECALLS), HAVE NISSAN FIND A PERMANENT SOLUTION. THERE ARE MANY ARMADA DRIVERS OUT THERE THAT ARE AT A HIGH RISK OF AN ACCIDENT.

2005 NISSAN ARMADA ABS ISSUES. VEHICLE BRAKES JUST START GRINDIING AND GRINDING WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED AND BRAKING POWER IS AT A MINIMUM. I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA THAT HAS HAD ANTI LOCK BRAKES ENGAGING AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES IN CONDITIONS THAT IT SHOULD NOT BE ENGAGING IN(EXAMPLE:SUNNY, CLEAR ROAD ,90 DEGREE SUMMER WEATHER)THIS LEAVES ME WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING ABILITY.THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE AND CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE GOOGLED THE PROBLEM ON THE NET AND FOUND NUMEROUS SITES WITH PAGES UPON PAGES OF COMPLAINTS OVER THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH MY EXACT SCENARIOS OF DRIVING CONDITIONS AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THE VEHICLE. I PROCEEDED TO NISSAN HEADQUARTERS TO EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM AND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT NISSAN HAS FAILED TO HELP. THEY REFUSE TO RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE HAPPENING TO NUMEROUS NISSAN ARMADAS YEARS 2004 THRU 2006. I SAID I WANT A RENTAL PAID FOR BY THEM AND I WANT NISSAN TO KEEP THE CAR TILL THEY CAN RECTIFY THIS OBVIOUS WIDE KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT NISSAN IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM NOR ACKNOWLEDGES IT & THAT THE VEHICLE OWNERS ARE AND AT VEHICLE OWNERS COST TO DROP OFF THE VEHICLE FOR A UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME(THIS COULD BE A WEEK TO MANY WEEKS BEFORE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN & IT IS STATED BY NUMEROUS OWNERS THAT IS HOW UNDETERMINED WHEN IT HAPPENS)TILL THEY CAN HOPEFULLY REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND REPAIR IT AT OWNERS COST ALONG WITH RENTAL VEHICLE COST. THIS IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR PROBLEM CAUSED BY THE OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE MODEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT NISSAN REFUSES TO ADMIT AND CREATE A RECALL ON THIS ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. THEY ALSO PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT IF I CAN'T AFFORD A RENTAL FOR WHO KNOWS HOW MANY WEEKS THAT IT COULD BE TO WAIT TILL THE PROBLEM OCCURS MYSELF AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER. MY HUSBAND WAS LEAVING WORK IN 2005 NISSAN ARMADA, HE HEARD A STRANGE GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT BRAKES AS HE TRIED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN THEN REALIZED HE HAD NO BRAKES. HE MANAGED TO DRIVE THE 10 MILES HOME WITH NO BRAKES. WE DROVE TO NEAREST NISSAN DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND WOULD COST 900.00 TO FIX. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE FORUMS WE REALIZED THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY MORE OWNERS, THAT NISSAN FAILS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT BEFORE NISSAN WILL ADMIT THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES FOR THIS MODEL. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THERE WAS EXCESSIVE VIBRATION DURING THE ENGAGEMENT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING AND UPON REACHING THE DESTINATION, THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED; THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL STREETS. BRAKING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN APPLYING BRAKES I COULD A HEAR GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE CAR AND BRAKE PEDAL FEELS SPRINGY. TOOK IT TO LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECK. BUT ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND ON. PROBLEMS DISAPPEARS. DEALER UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEMS. ONCE I TOOK IT HOME BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. TURN CAR ON AND OFF AGAIN PROBLEM DISAPPEARS.

2005 NISSAN ARMADA BRAKE HYDRAULIC FAILURE. IT HAPPEN AT LEAST ONCE EVERY OTHER MONTH EVER SINCE I OWN THE ARMADA BACK WHEN IT'S ABOUT 15K MILES. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED AND COMING TO A STOP, THE BRAKE LIGHT LED UP AND THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS USELESS, IT MAKE GRINDING SOUND, SOUND LIKE SPRINGS POPPING OUT IN FRONT OF THE ARMADA FROM TIRES. ALMOST CRASH THE ARMADA INTO ANOTHER CAR STOPPING IN FRONT SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO USELESS BRAKES. TOOK IT THE MOSSY NISSAN HOUSTON, THEY CAN'T "REPLICATE" THE ISSUE BACK YEARS AGO. ONCE YOU SHUT OFF THE ARMADA, IT RESET AND IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUE, PERHAPS UNTIL SOMEONE GET HURT OR KILL??????! *TR

I OWN A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AND ON AT LEAST 4 OCCASIONS MY BRAKE LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES THEY MAKE A GRINDING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATES AND THE BRAKES ARE NOT EFFECTIVE. SO FAR I HAVE NOT HAD ANYONE IN FRONT OF ME NOR HAVE THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS BEEN RED. IF THEY HAD I WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD TO COAST TO THE EDGE OF THE ROAD OR TURN INTO A PARKING ARE. WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RE-START IT THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARS. I WENT ON LINE TO A WEB SITE LISTING PROBLEMS WITH THE ARMADA AND FIND THAT MINE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE DOING THIS. I THINK YOU NEED TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AS THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG.
