2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION FAILURE 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS A PROBLEM WITH COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS TRANSMISSION COOLER IS LOCATED INSIDE THE RADIATOR. THE FAULTY DESIGN RUINS THE TRANSMISSION, NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND ISSUE A RECALL. NISSAN AND THE DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THIS ONGOING PROBLEM, BUT STILL KEEP SELLING THEM TO UNAWARE CONSUMERS. MY TRANSMISSION IS DESTROYED AND I REPLACED THE RADIATOR AFTER WE FOUND COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION. I KEPT THE OLD RADIATOR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, HE ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DID NOT INCREASE. HE STATED THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER FROM THE RADIATOR WAS GOING TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,704.

2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WE FELT A VIBRATION ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. AT 40 MPH IT FELT LIKE WE WERE GOING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. TOOK TO THE MECHANIC. HE SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. RADIATOR FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND BACK. BOTH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY WERE RUINED. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. REPAIR WILL COST $5,000. NISSAN WILL NOT COVER ANY OR ALL OF THE REPAIR. THE CAR ONLY HAS 67,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION RADIATOR ISSUE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF POSTS ONLINE REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE RADIATOR LEAKS COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LINES. WHICH IN TURN CAUSES IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. WHICH IS AROUND A $4000 PART. *TR
TRANSMISSION SHAKING AT 40-45 MPH. IS CONSTANT UNTIL TRANSMISSION CHANGES GEARS. NISSAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION FOR A FEE. AFTER REPLACEMENT THE NEW TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCES THE SAME SYMPTOMS. TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY SAID THE RADIATOR IS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. PATHFINDER IS IN SERVICE AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR. READING THE COMPLAINTS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
1) THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED WITH NO PREVIOUS WARNING/INDICATION ON A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER AROUND THE 82K MILE MARK. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR USED LESS THAN 1 MONTH AND 1K MILES PREVIOUSLY. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MERGING ONTO AN EXPRESSWAY AT THE TIME AND FOUND MYSELF UNABLE TO FULLY ACCELERATE. I BASICALLY COASTED IT OFF THE ROAD AT THIS POINT. ALTHOUGH AN ACCIDENT WAS AVERTED ONE COULD HAVE EASILY OCCURRED. 2) FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD, THE TRANSMISSION SEIZED UP ENTIRELY, AND ALL OF THE FLUIDS DRAINED OUT ENTIRELY. IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE, HOWEVER IT CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO INSTANTLY BE "DEAD IN THE WATER". 3) THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE U-JOINT AND THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED (NEW) FOR A ROUGHLY 7200 TOTAL PRICE TAG THAT FORTUNATELY FOR ME THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY ULTIMATELY COVERED (MINUS THE DEDUCTIBLE) AFTER MUCH BACK AND FORTH / INSPECTIONS OVER 6 WEEKS. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS A DEFECT INVOLVING FLUID FROM THE RADIATOR LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT POSTED ABOUT BY MANY OTHERS AND IT CAUSES MY CAR TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 45-65 MPH. NEITHER NISSAN N.A. NOR THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR, RT 22 NISSAN IN NJ, HAVE BEEN COOPERATIVE IN RECTIFYING OR EVEN ADDRESSING HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS 58,000 AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY ONCE I REACH 40 MPH AND OVER ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE RADIATOR LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION MAKING IT SHAKE VERY VIOLENTLY. THE ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR THIS HUGE PROBLEM IS ANYWHERE FROM $3500-$4500. I CALLED NISSAN HEADQUARTERS ONLY TO HEAR THAT MY WARRANTY ALREADY EXPIRED AND THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY AND MECHANICAL PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED SINCE THEY HAVE TERRIBLE ENGINEERING AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE AN MAJOR ACCIDENT AND SOMEONE'S LIFE. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 52,800 MILES. NO "SLAMMING" OF GEARS OR SHUDDERING OR DIFFICULTY IN SHIFTING THAT WOULD INDICATE AN ISSUE. TRANSMISSION SERVICED AT 40,000 MILES AND OIL CHANGE/FLUID CHECK AND STATE INSPECTION PASSED 8 WEEKS PRIOR TO FAILURE. WHEN SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, GEAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. BECAUSE ACCELERATION/GAS HAD BEEN GIVEN, WHEN THE GEAR DID ENGAGE, THE ENGINE WOULD REV AND REVERSE AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH CAUSING NEAR ACCIDENTS WITH OTHER VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS IN VICINITY. BROUGHT TO NISSAN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS BURNED. I REQUESTED THE RADIATOR BE EXAMINED AND ALTHOUGH THE DEALER SAID THEY DID IT DOES NOT SHOW ON MY SERVICE RECEIPT. DEALER STATED IT WAS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION ONLY, NO RADIATOR INVOLVEMENT. I WAS 3 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY. AFTER 7 DAYS OF NEGOTIATION, NISSAN DECIDED TO PAY FOR PART OF THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION AND LABOR. OVER $2000 OUT OF POCKET FOR TRANS AND RENTAL CAR. ALL SERVICE PERFORMED AT REGULAR INTERVALS, ALL SERVICE RECORDS KEPT. ALL SERVICES WERE PERFORMED AT DEALER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM. SAFETY RECALLS SHOULD NOT BE BUSINESS DECISIONS BASED ON SAVING LARGE COMPANIES THE MILLIONS THEY ARE CHEATING THEIR CUSTOMERS OUT OF ON UNUSUAL REPAIRS ABOVE AND BEYOND NORMAL MAINTENANCE. THEY SHOULD BE BASED ON SAVING LIVES AND PREVENTING ACCIDENTS. I NEARLY HIT A PEDESTRIAN DUE TO THIS SUDDEN TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE, HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENSOR UNIT AT OWN EXPENSE WHEN IT WOULDN'T SHOW CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL LEFT IN TANK BELOW HALF FULL. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED ABOUT 50K MILES. NOW WITH JUST UNDER 95K MILES, AM HAVING ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION NOT LOCKING INTO OVERDRIVE. THIS IS THE SITUATION OFTEN DESCRIBED AS HEAVY VIBRATION AROUND 45 MPH, AS WELL AS AROUND 60 MPH. HAVE HAD DEALER AS WELL AS INDEPENDENT SHOP LOOK AT THIS BOTH SAYING IT IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR. AS OF THIS POINT - NO CROSS-CONTAMINATION HAS BEEN FOUND WITH THE COOLANT AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I AM LOOKING AT AROUND 5K IN COSTS FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN HEAVY ACCIDENT NOR DRIVEN OFF-ROAD OR ANYTHING BESIDES CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. NOT VERY RELIABLE FROM MY POINT OF VIEW AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED WHY SO MANY HAVE BEEN FAULTY - AND IF FOUND TO BE DESIGN, THEN WHY ISN'T IT AT LEAST PART OF THE RESPONSIBILITY OF NISSAN TO HELP OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES? *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER MY RADIATOR LEAKS FLUID INTO THE TRANNY COOLING LINES. ITS BEEN TO NISSAN 2-3 TIMES. FINALLY THERE PUTTING IN A NEW TRANNY AND RADIATOR. FORTUNATELY ITS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
AT AROUND 56,600 MILES NOTICED CAR SHAKING VIGOUROUSLY WHEN DRIVING OVER 50 MPH. THIS MILEAGE TYPICALLY OCCURRING ON HIGHWAY AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND VIBRATES AND CAR GEARS FEELS LIKE IT KEEPS SLIPPING UNTIL YOU SLOW DOWN BELOW 40MPH. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW, 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER SE AND HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR IN THESE VEHICLES WHICH CRACKS AND CAUSES FLUIDS TO LEAK INTO TRANSMISSION AND DESTROY IT. ALTHOUGH MY TRANSMISSION IS STILL COVERED UNDER THE 5YR/60,000 MI WARRANTY, THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE RADIATOR HASN'T BEEN RECALLED AS YET.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING INTO THE RADIATOR. THE CONTACT WAS DISPLEASED TO KNOW THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOT FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,974. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY FAMILY OF 4 AND I START FROM A STOP AND OUR 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER WILL BEGIN TO MOVE INTO THE INTERSECTION AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL DISENGAGE OR SLIP DUE TO CONTAMINATION WHILE OTHER VEHICLES ARE HEADING FOR US. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET NISSAN OF MIDDLETOWN NY TO REPLACE IT SINCE I PUT MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AND FEEL IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT INSTEAD THEY KEEP REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND SENDING ME ON MY WAY. IT WAS NOT UNTIL I WAS ON A TEST DRIVE WITH THE MECHANIC (I GOT TO KNOW THEM BEING THERE ALL THE TIME) THAT HE TOLD ME IN CONFIDENCE THAT IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE NISSANS THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS A FLAW AND IT WILL COST ABOUT $7,000 TO REPLACE. I FEEL IF IT IS A FLAW AND IT PROVES TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE IT SHOULD BE REPLACED BY NISSAN AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER SINCE FAMILIES CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THEM FORCING US TO DRIVE UNSAFE VEHICLES. THIS IS REFERENCE TO 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE SUV STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I PRESS DOWN THE GAS PEDAL TO GIVE IT MORE POWER BUT IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I PULLED TO SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG SO I TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT WOULD NOT CRANK OVER. THE METRO FREEWAY TOWING COMPANY TRY TO JUMP START IT 3 TIMES BUT WOULD NOT START. I HAD IT TOW TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA WHICH THEY DISCOVER THAT THE COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE MIXURE OF THE TWO COMPONENTS BURNED OUT THE ECM MODULE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE COST OF REPLACING THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION IS APPROXIMATELY $5400.00, THE VECHICLE IS STILL AT THE NISSAN DEALER WHICH I AM CURRENTLY TRYING FIND A RESOLUATION TO THIS MATTER. BOTTOM LINE WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS BILL SINCE THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER THAT HAS BEGUN TO SHOW SIGNS OF THE ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY SEVERAL OTHER CONSUMERS. THE PROBLEMS OCCURRING ARE SEVERE TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND VIBRATION AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45-55 MPH. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND AM CONTACTING NISSAN FOR THE DREADED FORMAL DIAGNOSIS. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AS THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF A VEHICLE TRANSMISSION AT HIGH SPEED CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT WITH POTENTIAL FOR VERY SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THE PROBLEM IS WELL KNOW TO NISSAN AND HAS OCCURRED IN OTHER MODEL YEARS AS WELL AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNWILLING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. IT APPEARS NISSAN WILL CONTINUE TO IGNORE THE COOLANT LEAKAGE INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID VIA THE RADIATOR DESIGN FLAW UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED IN MANY CONSUMER FORUMS RELATED TO NISSAN PATHFINDERS OF YEARS 2005-2007. *TR
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HEAT STAYING CONSISTENT (DOES NOT BLOW HOT AIR WHEN IDLE) AS WELL A VIBRATION WHEN DRIVING AT CERTAIN SPEEDS. I ALSO BEGIN TO NOTICE THAT TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP. I WOULD STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND GO TO TAKE OFF AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PICK UP SPEED WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND FOUND MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME EXACTLY WHAT I ALREADY KNEW, THE RADIATOR WAS NOW NO GOOD AND LEAKING ANTIFREEZE INTO THE TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS CAUSED BOTH OF THEM TO BE RUINED AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 5K TO REPLACE. I ASKED IF THE DEALERSHIP HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT SEVERAL OF THE SAME VEHICLES HAVE BEEN IN FOR THIS VERY REASON. HE ADVISED THAT NISSAN HAS NOT PAID FOR THESE SERVICES AS THE VEHICLES ARE ALWAYS OUT OF WARRANTY ON THE RADIATOR. I STILL HAVE 2000 MILES LEFT ON MY POWERTRAIN AND ADVISED THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTING NISSAN FOR "GOODWILL" ASSISTANCE. NISSAN FINALLY CONTACTED ME AND ADVISED THAT SINCE THE PROBLEM WAS INITIALLY CAUSED BY THE RADIATOR, THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THEY ALSO ADVISED ME THAT SINCE I WAS NOT CONSIDERED "LOYAL" TO NISSAN AS THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE WITH THEM THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. I DO THINK IT IS FAIR TO HOLD THE CONSUMER RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE TRANSMISSION AS CLEARLY THE RADIATOR IS DEFECTIVE AND THE PROBLEM DOESN'T BEGIN UNTIL AFTER IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY 5K FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. IF THIS WAS A RARE CASE OR CAUSED BY THE CONSUMER THEN, YES WE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE BUT THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT AS ALL NISSAN DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I WAS INFORMED ON MONDAY, JUNE 28, 2010 THAT MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH ONLY 68,900 MILES IS IN NEED OF A NEW TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. I WAS TOLD BY A CERTIFIED NISSAN TECHNICIAN THAT AN INTERNAL FAILURE IN THE RADIATOR CAUSED COOLANT FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION IS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO BREAKDOWN. APPROX 1 MONTH AGO I NOTICED MY NISSAN PATHFINDER VIBRATING BETWEEN 40-60 MPH. IT TOOK THREE TIMES TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY, THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ISOLATED TO MY VEHICLE ALONE. I GOOGLED THE "2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION PROBLEM" AND DISCOVERED 100 PLUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP TO THIS PROBLEM. THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE. MY FEAR IS PATHFINDER OWNERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES WILL DRIVE THESE VEHICLES UNBEKNOWNST TO THEM THERE IS AN ISSUE AND THE TRANSMISSION MAY SEIZE CAUSING AN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. *TR

I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. JUST A COUPLE OF SHORT WEEKS AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE, I BEGAN TO NOTICE A STRANGE VIBRATION NOISE (LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING OVER A GROOVED SURFACE) COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AROUND 2000-2500 RPMS OR 45-65 MPH. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE (HTTP://TOWNHALL-TALK.EDMUNDS.COM/DIRECT/VIEW/.F177B6C/8#MSG8) I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A TON OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM ON THE '05 NISSAN PATHFINDERS. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A HOSE THAT RUNS FROM THE RADIATOR TO THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH ANTIFREEZE LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR INTO THE TRANSMISSION, THUS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO BEGIN TO MALFUNCTION AND THEN ULTIMATELY SHUT DOWN. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE POST ON EDMUNDS.COM, THIS IS A CHRONIC ISSUE IMPACTING ALL 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THE RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE. YET, I MUST HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO GET TO/FRO WORK. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE ENGINEERING ON NISSANS PART AND THEY NEED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE AND ADDRESS THE FAULTY ENGINEERING HERE BEFORE SOMEONE'S TRANSMISSION SHUTS DOWN AT 60MPH CAUSING A CRASH ON ONE OF OUR HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATES. *TR
THE DEALER POINTED OUT THAT THERE WAS A BUZZING / WHINING NOISE COMING FROM ONE OR BOTH SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS AND CAMSHAFT SPROCKET AREAS. I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH SECONDARY TIMING CHAINS AND BOTH SECONDARY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS AT 61,000 MILES. COST: $2,148.00. PLEASE SEE NISSAN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: CLASSIFICATION: EM07-001 NTB07-042. REFERENCE: DATE: JULY 17, 2007. I BELIEVE THIS ITEM SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MISTAKE ON NISSAN'S BEHALF WHEN THEY USED INAPPROPRIATE AND UNSAFE PARTS. I ASKED NISSAN TO COVER THIS ITEM UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH THEY QUICKLY REFUSED. I WAS 1,000 MILES PAST MY DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY BUT THIS HAD BEGUN WAY BEFORE THAT POINT. I FIND IT BOTH AMUSING AND CONVENIENT THAT NISSAN NEVER MENTIONED THIS PROBLEM TO ITS CUSTOMERS, AND ME SPECIFICALLY UNTIL I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY; THE SERVICE REPORT IS DATED JULY 17, 2007, EXACTLY ONE YEAR PRIOR TO MY VEHICLE NEEDING REPAIR.
