Received recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 on 27 Nov. 2024. Remedy for this defect has not been completed as of this date. I tried on AUG 1 2025 to have it corrected at the Berlin City Ram dealership with no luck. I asked the dealership again today 12 Feb 2026 about the repairs and was told they do not have a remedy yet for this. I called Chrysler Customer Care 12 Feb 2026 and was told there is still no remedy. My state Vehicle inspection is due in March, and will not pass inspection due to the ABS/ESC Lights being on. What do when the vehicle fails inspection and i cannot drive it?
Anti lock brake control has failed twice and then afects cruise control and warning bell continues to ring paid to have fixed twice and still no factory fix .it hs been on recall list for years now!
Abs hcu/ module malfunctions. Has been for 1.5 - 2 years now. Waiting on recall to be complete for a long time. Scared to drive truc long distances but still have to pay for it.
The manufacturer has had a recall out since November 2024. It is now Jan 2026 and no word from the manufacturer when the parts will be availiable. My truck continually gets an ABS warning. I have contacted the dealer several times with no help. I believe the recall should have been address sooner than this.
Abs and traction control goes off and on randomly
I recieved a recall ncotice # 24v-896 on my vehicle over a year ago and there is still "no parts available" to fix it. The break HCU needs to be replaced. This is a huge safty concern!! The brake system in my vehicle has become more and more unpredictable in the past few months.
Abs and traction control showing error and alert all the time.
I have been in need of a repair for the C4B recall for well over a year. My truck is unsafe to drive. No ABS, no traction control, no cruise control. I also cannot use 4wd with this issue. My truck has been undriveable for this time frame.
My ABS light keeps coming on in and out over the last 6 months. The dinging is equivalent to NOT wearing your seat belt. Dealer said it was a recall since 12-2024. There is still not a remedy for this. I was told I could pay for an aftermarket product for about $1000 and when parts became available they would do the repairs and pay me back for the repairs I have paid for. I told them I wanted that statement on paper and was told to contact corporate. They told me exact same thing. It's been over a year now since the recall has been issued shouldn't that be enough time for them to figure this out since it has to do with your brakes not working properly? This is a safety issue and needs to be fixed ASAP!
The brake system malfunctioned. After applying the brakes, instead of slowly stopping, the truck began to slide. The truck has a factory recall that RAM doesn't have a fix for. Our truck has a light that says our ABS needs servicing. This has been on for several months. We took it to the dealer but they said they can't fix it because RAM doesn't have a fix for it. This is truly unacceptable. Next time it could cause an accident. The traction control light also comes on and goes off.
HCU Hydraulic Control Unit ABS malfunction. Intermittent loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control. Constant warning lights flashing on and off on screen display in truck with audible alarm. Vehicle is not listed as having a recall, however, this is the exact same issue as many other 2018 Ram 2500 trucks that were included in the recall and my VIN is included in the numbers for the Class Action Lawsuit. The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause my vehicle to crash without prior warning. My vehicle needs to be included in the Safety Recall Reference: C4B / NHTSA 24V-896
I have reached out to several dealers in the past year to get this recall fixed. Most say parts aren't available, However i spoke with my local dealer in Vicksburg Mississippi and the parts department stated they had the parts to fix this issue and to call back and speak with services to set up an appt. . I called back as i was asked and the service guy said we don't have the parts to fix this ABS recall. I then stated that your parts guy said the parts were available on site for my vin number. He then stated well i wont get paid for it. This has been a major inconvenience not to mention with the ABS and Traction control are faulted, the cruise control wont work and the 4X4 wont work. I have been dealing with this over a year and the say the least it is getting very frustrating.
Have had an open Recall since December 2024. To date 2/17/2026 I just confirmed that the dealer has no current repair options for the recall: The Warning light came on November 1,2024. Manufacturer Recall NumberC4B NHTSA Recall Number24V-896 Recall Status Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available
I received a recall notice (C4B/NHTSA 24V-896) and since the parts weren't available at the time, registered at recalls.mopar.com on 4/1/2025 for notification once the parts become available. It's now almost a year later and I still haven't received a notification about the parts being available. I've also contacted my dealer several times to check with them as well, but they say the parts still aren't available yet. The back of the recall notification mentions submitting a complaint if the dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect within a reasonable time, so I think this fits that definition and I'm submitting this complaint.
ABS and traction control continously comes on and off. Recieved safety recall almost a year ago. Have been to my local dealership several times over the last year to get recall fixed. Went as recently as today. Each time I am being told no parts / fix is available. It is my understanding this is a major safety concern and it is unacceptable not to have a fix.
My truck has had the issue stated in recall C4B since November of 2024, per the recall a solution was to be provided by first quarter of 2025. It is now first quarter of 2026, the recall still shows no parts available, dealers state no parts are available and this is a ridiculous amount of time to remedy a safety recall. Truck currently has multiple lights/issues related to the problem, no traction control and no cruise control for over a year and a half now. This problem needs to fixed ASAP, it's ridiculous.
RAM or FCA USA has not timely made parts available to address the Recall C4B on my 2018 RAM 2500 HD Truck. I have been driving it without anti-lock braking system and without the skid control engaged due to the failed HCU unit covered by this Recall. I have called RAM customer care multiple times and they tell me their engineers are working on it, but they have not estimated time for the parts to be available. it has been 14 months since I first received the recall notice. This is an excessive amount of time to still not have a remedy available. Especially when RAM has remedied the same issue with the RAM 3500 Chassis.
The failure and recall of the HCU( hydraulic control unit) means that my truck • ABS (antilock brake system ) failure • 4 wheel drive failure This poses a severe safety risk to the driver and passengers in this vehicle. It has been over a year that this issue hasn’t been resolved.
I have had this recall for over 3 years and its still not fix. Its dangerous to drive because you will never know when the brakes goes out completely. I have call the dealership many times and I receive the same answer like they waiting on the parts to arrive.
Code C0020-01 ABS-VSC lamp and intermittent warning chime.
Abs control module defective been having this problem for over five years. Ram just keeps saying no parts available. That they are working on solution. I think they are dragging there feet on purpose hoping the trucks will wear out before they have to fix. These companies need to be held accountable. Thanks for any help
A car lot sold me a vehicle with an unresolved dangerous recall
This recall affects the brake hydraulic control unit ("HCU") on my RAM 2500. I already had this part replaced back in 2022, and it went bad again in the Summer of 2025. I'm trying to sell the truck, but the incessant error messages and bell ringing makes that impossible. Nobody is going to buy a truck in this condition. Ram has known about this for years, and the recall was issued 14 months ago. Still no fix? I had the truck to my dealer last week and they said they are unable to help me with a replacement part, because it is not available. So now I'm driving around with a broken ABS system and constant error messages and audible warnings from my dashboard. For such a big company, it shouldn't take this long to develop a remedy to this problem. Anything you can do to assist would be appreciated. Thanks.
A recall was issue 1 year ago for the issue below. This issue has yet to be resolved. The dealer informed me they could fix it at my cost but left little or no hope for the reimbursement. One year is sufficient to come up with a fix. I have constant alarms going off on my truck which is very distracting. I have parked my truck as it poses an unsafe condition. Manufacturer Recall NumberC4B NHTSA Recall Number24V-896 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary Some (2017-2018 MY Ram xxx) vehicles may have been built with a brake hydraulic control unit ("HCU") that is susceptible to failure or malfunction which may result in a reduction or change of Anti-Lock Brake System ("ABS")/Electronic Stability Control ("ESC") /Traction Control performance. A failing HCU will initially result in the intermittent loss of ABS/Traction control progressing to permanent loss. Safety Risk The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.
I do not feel this recall - considering it is regarding BRAKES - has been remedied in a timely fashion. It started over a year ago. They obviously are not interested in addressing the fix. I assume they are taking the hit and paying off lawsuits as it is cheaper than actually completing the recall. But whatever the reason, they have not addressed this and my RAM repair location keeps telling me "parts are not available" to fix it. A recall was issued but it does not appear it has any teeth. What is the point? Please let me know if any action is imminent. It can also potentially effect the transfer of title if I chose to sell the vehicle. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
