I am forced to drive a vehicle through the winter with a known safety defect - an ABS system that does not work properly. I was told by Ram corporate they were trying to source parts - it has been several months and still no resolution. I was told I could rent a car at my expense to drive in the winter, or try and find the parts to repair and do it at my cost. They are obviously trying to avoid paying for the repair, and putting me and my family at risk.
The recall has been active for over a year without repair authorization due to no parts being identified.
After several visits to dealership, I have been told I am not able to get this recall remedied. I am stuck with a vehicle that is unsafe to drive, according to the Dodge dealership and unable to be traded in. I am now having a financial loss as I pay for rent on my RV and am unable to pull it due to the faulty part and safety concern. The ABS indicator and traction control light is lit on the dash. This started about 6 months ago. Periodically, I believe the brakes are failing as I can feel it on the front end. The cruise control no longer works on the vehicle and a buzzing sound comes on while driving. The warning indicators have been confirmed through the dealership mechanic and code readers. The staff at all dealerships I have visited have been of no assistance and virtually told me I am just out of luck. I commute to work and travel for pleasure. As an older individual, I do not have the financial means to take the loss on a vehicle and just buy another. How does one take a $60k loss like this because Mopar has not fulfilled their commitment to provide quality parts and remedy a safety recall?
I have had this issue for over 2 years now and the recall is almost a year old. I went to the RAM dealership in Elizabeth City, NC and they have told me that they would get back to me for over two years. I call MOPAR and they still have no fix for the issue nor do they have a timeframe of when to expect. When asked, if they are going to cover the cost of the accident that occurs when the brakes actually fail, they suggest if I am not comfortable driving the vehicle, they might offer a rental vehicle. I go through that process and since they don't have an estimated timeframe, they won't allow me to get a rental. Just need to problem fixed and they have had plenty of time to correct this issue.
MY ABS module was replaced shortly after purchasing my truck, which currently has 65,000. However, the ABS module has been malfunctioning for years. Despite contacting and visiting dealerships, I've been informed the necessary part is unavailable. consequently, my truck has been without traction control, and I've been unable to use cruise control, for most of the time I've owned it. Recently, I've experienced loss of traction, which has nearly resulted in three accidents. while I understand the concept of recalls, this situation is unacceptable.
Warning lamps for braking systems are active. Recall C4B has been active for over a year now with no remedy.
Continuing saga of HCU failures. First identified years ago, i follow up with dealer monthly. Latest call last Friday, they advised no solution or timeline for repair provided by FCA. Impact is loss of ABS (reduced braking safety), loss of control of trailer electronic brakes (increased risk while towing a trailer), incessant audio warning alarms (distracts driver), and loss of other systems (cruise control). First detection of malfunction was spring 2024. My fear is FCA/Stellantis are not doing their due diligence to preserve the safety of their customers muchless of our highways. All documentation of the problem is based on personnel research and verbal communication with the dealer service department. I do have maintenance records identifying the problem with my vehicle if needed.
ABS / HCU failed. It was recalled a year ago but still no parts / remedy available. It needs to be fixed. A year is a ridiculous amount of time to have no fix.
Hydraulic Brake controller has been under recall for over a year with no remedy. Unacceptable and dangerous at this point. When will action be taken against Mopar and chrysler?
Recall 24V-896 was announced on 11-27-2024. The recall states that this may cause an unsafe driving condition for the vehicle. Stellantis has not resolved this problem and states that the part is unavailable. Stellantis lists the replacement for the defective hydraulic control unit (HCU) part #68143491AB as available for purchase. This delay is unacceptable, with thousands of potentially unsafe trucks on the highways.
I have had this truck since 2018, I have had to repair the brakes , break pads and lines 6 times now and one time almost causing a horrible crash in Oregon slamming into a guardrail. I am tired of hearing there’s no way they can fix it, they have no parts to fix it , they don’t have parts to fix it, it’s a sever safety concern, why am I constantly having to repair these brakes and no one can help other than an attorney.
The manufacturer has not designed the replacement parts in a timely manner. 7 months since initial recall and still no parts available.
Recall #24 V896000, C4B was issued in December of 2024 . Recall was to replace the HCU unit that controls the braking system. I have called every month, no parts are available to fix the problem. Warning lights and sounds are now going on and off on the vehicle. It does not seem reasonable that parts are not available to fix a safety recall for one year. Please contact the manufacturer to force them immediately to get this severe safety issue fixed.
Service ABS light constantly is on and off with dinging and kicking cruise on traction control off. I feel this isn't safe with my children on car. It has been a year I feel this is plenty of time to make it right or replace my vehicle
My 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 ABS Hydraulic Control Unit failed, almost a year after recall NHTSA 24V-896 (manufacturer recall C4B) was issued. This resulted in a loss of ABS capability. I reached out to the closest Dodge dealers and they informed me that a replacement component was not available. As this was a safety concern, and no resolution was available through Dodge, I was forced to complete the repair myself. Interestingly, I had no issue purchasing a Mopar OEM HCU. After replacing the unit, I'm no longer receiving ABS error codes and the truck is functioning normally. After submitting a reimbursement request to FCA for the repair via their website, my request was denied as I didn't use a certified repair facility. I informed them that I had tried but that they informed me that no repair components were available to complete the recall.
My traction control and abs brakes warning lights come on and off regularly. I do not have abs brakes or traction control a lot of the time
ABS failure light keeps popping on due to the recall. I have yet to get this resolved. The dealership wanted to charge $1200 and not fix the issue A DAY after purchasing. I have been dealing with this over a year. It is dangerous. I had to replace the entire transmission which cost $6,000 because the light will come on and stay on and send incorrect information to the computer system. The truck is not performing as it should due to this, and the traction loss is dangerous when braking suddenly.
ABS warning/Traction Control lights and warning chime activation...for over 9 month...
Stellantis has failed to remedy this recall dating back to NOV 2024.
I am concerned regarding the safety of this model and the hydraulic brake control unit/ ABS as I live in colorado it’s about to be snow season and my wife drives this vehicle to work on snow days. I’ve read the part failure can cause abs to fail and may lead to crash. Recall notice states no known remedy, and it’s been almost a year since the notice was issued.
Abs warning light dings and warning lights are on. Safety recall. When will this be fixed
NHTSA Recall ID Number: 24V896, This recall has been going on for approx. one year with still no resolution to fixing the problem with the "Loss of ABS/Traction Control from Module Failure".
My RAM truck was recalled several months ago but has not been fixed due to no parts available for the fix. What am I to do? Dealers are no help at all. It has been almost 2 years since I have been trying to get this fixed. Please get RAM to get this recall done.
The recall was issued in November 2024 and it been almost a year and the part is still not available yet.
