The problem with the ABS module started in 2019 when the truck had 43000 miles. The dealership told mee what the problem was but didn't have the parts to repair it. I've been driving it since then with no anti lock brakes, traction control, and no cruise control. This seems unsafe to me and all other drivers. I have contacted the dealership and there is still no remedy for the issue. Please consider this a formal complaint. Thank you.

2nd time truck has warning lights on related to ABS, electronic braking system with no parts available from manufacturer - HCU. Truck is set up to tow a gooseneck trailer. Loss of braking capacity has put me in hazardous situations as the problem is intermittent. Previous repair, where dealer stated my rotors were bad with fewer than 20k miles, was expensive and tech said it could be related to the electronic braking system failure causing rotors to malfunction. No remedy from manufacturer is unacceptable as I'm unable to use my vehicle and if I did, I could be in a situation causing a major accident with no brakes.

The ABS system has deactivated along with traction control and all the lights are on the dash with a message that says service electronic brakes system. Stellantis claims that I am not included in the recall even though my model year and model match others being recalled and the part needed to complete the repair is the one that is being redesigned because the original one is faulty. Please help!

I am filing this complaint regarding the unavailability of a critical safety component for my vehicle. Multiple dealers have informed me that the part is not available through the Mopar parts chain. However, the identical part is currently available for purchase by consumers through MoparGenuineParts.com (111 Bond Street, Westbury, NY 11590) at the following link: [XXX] ). One verified buyer even confirmed this discrepancy. As [XXX] wrote in his 5-star review dated 04/03/25: *"ABS PART – Fixed my problem just what I needed. Dealership said they could not get to because of part shortage??"* This highlights a troubling inconsistency: Mopar’s authorized dealer network is unable to supply parts that consumers can easily purchase online. It makes no sense that the official supply chain is cut off while direct-to-consumer sales remain active. The component in question is critical to the safe operation of the vehicle. If it fails at high speed, the driver could experience sudden loss of braking or steering control. Such a failure poses an imminent danger of severe accidents, rollovers, or fatalities, both to the vehicle occupants and to others on the roadway. My concern is twofold: (1) why Mopar dealers cannot access parts that clearly exist in Mopar’s system, and (2) how long-term safety is being compromised if consumers must resort to inconsistent third-party availability for essential components. This disconnect directly threatens public safety. I respectfully request NHTSA investigate why Mopar’s dealer network is unable to provide critical safety components, while consumers can obtain the exact same part online, and whether this practice constitutes a systemic safety hazard that warrants recall, investigation, or enforcement action. The ABS brake system control module HCU is failing vehicle is available for inspection I’m not sure if the brace are going to work or not the traction control is affected. Vehicle is not safe to drive long distance. The vehicle has not been reproduced for a dealer or independent service center. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer or the police or the insurance representative or any other Agency? I was driving along when I got the notice on my dashboard. My ABS module was malfunctioning and then it quit malfunctioningand then it started malfunctioning again, right now it is back-and-forth at random. A call to the local dealer service rep said that the parts not available and they do not know when it will be. My concern is it safe to drive or not?

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall for the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) on my 2017 Dodge Ram 3500, VIN ending in [XXX] , under Recall Number C4B/NHTSA 24V-896. We received the recall notification months ago and have been waiting ever since for further instructions or a remedy from FCA US LLC. After more than six months, we still have no resolution. Recently, the vehicle was towed to Patterson Dodge in Tyler, TX, where it was inspected by the dealership. They confirmed that there is currently no remedy available for the HCU issue and stated they have no idea when a fix will be provided. This is not just a matter of inconvenience — this is a critical safety concern. FCA's own recall notice clearly states: “The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.” We purchased this truck specifically to tow our 5th wheel camper, which we now cannot safely operate due to the safety risk posed by this unresolved recall. Without proper braking and stability control systems, towing a heavy load would be incredibly dangerous, not only to us but to everyone else on the road. We understand that vehicle recalls can take time to resolve. However, it is extremely concerning that: FCA has offered no timeline or remedy after many months. The vehicle remains inoperable for its intended purpose due to the unresolved recall. We were never proactively contacted with updates and had to follow up on our own. The dealership confirmed the part is not only unavailable but with no estimated time of arrival. We respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether FCA is meeting its obligations under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act to provide a timely and effective recall remedy. A known safety defect has been identified, but the remedy is indefinitely delayed, and the manufacturer is not offering alternative solutions (loaner vehicle, buyback, etc.) while we are left with a vehicle we cannot safely use. FCA issued recall C4B notification at the end of 2024, with estimated parts availability in the 2nd quarter of 2025. It is now the 4th quarter of 2025 (almost a year later!) with no update on parts availability. Considering that malfunction of the braking system is a critical safety hazard, it is unacceptable that they have and continue to delay a timely resolution for those impacted.

This issue is related to 2017 Ram 3500 truck with 6.7L Turbo Diesel motor: The warning lights for the ABS and the Cruise Control intermittently activate and there is an audible alarm ding noise along with them. This ABS warning light going off intermittently indicates that if a situation arises that requires the ABS system, it may not activate as designed. Which in turn could contribute to loss of control or accident with the vehicle. This problem has been confirmed by Villa Rica Auto in Villa Rica, GA. This vehicle has been inspected by Villa Rica Auto. They advised that the problem is with a defective HCU and that part is on back order with no ETA available. This problem first appeared a few days after buying the truck from Gravity Autos Atlanta. This truck was not involved in a crash.

My truck has 57,000 miles on it. Keeps getting "Service electronic braking system" and "ABS" message. "ABS" fault light and "Traction control" fault light comes on. Lights and message stay on for a couple seconds. Does this over and over. I had this problem before when the truck had about 20,000 miles on it. Braking system hydraulic control unit (HCU) was replaced under warranty. Contacted dealer service department and was told it was safe to drive, but abs may not work properly.

The Hydraulic Control Unit Chrysler part number 68143491AA failed and Ram refuses to replace/repair it and I’ve been waiting a year. This causes the Anti-lock braking system and Traction control system to no longer function limiting function under wet or slippery conditions. This puts the driver and others at risk. It also disables the cruise control and 4 wheel drive. I have contacted my local dealer multiple times and they have made no attempt to help me. The vehicle/component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no Warning lamps/messaged before failure only after. These would be ABS lamp and traction control lamp plus a service ABS warning message. "
