I JUST BOUGHT A 2006 MATRIX (TOYOTA). IT ONLY HAS 88,000 MILES ON IT (OCTOBER, 2020). THE CAR IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. I'VE TAKEN IT TO 2 SEPARATE QUALIFIED MECHANICS. THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. WHEN THE LIGHT IS OFF THE CAR RUNS PERFECT. WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THE GAS PEDAL WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL ON A STRAIGHT AWAY FLAT ROAD. I WAS DRIVING 30MPH LEAVING TOWN. THE SPEED LIMIT INCREASED TO 40MPH BEFORE FURTHER INCREASING TO 65MPH HIGHWAY. IT'S A STRAIGHT FLAT ROAD. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR OVER 55MPH. WHEN I GOT TO A SMALL HILL THE CAR FINALLY MADE IT TO THE TOP 45 MPH WITH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DEPRESSED. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR UP TO HIGHWAY SPEED AS I WAS COMING DOWN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL WITH THE GAS PEDAL STILL DEPRESSED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. I USED A HALF OF A TANK OF GAS TO DRIVE 15 MILES. I AM WRITING THIS AS I AM CONCERNED. WHEN I LOOKED ONLINE I FOUND THE PROBLEM I AM DESCRIBING WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST OTHER MATRIX OWNERS. I COULD ALSO SEE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS WHERE THE MATRIX ACCELERATED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE STOPPED. WHY HASN'T THE 2006 BEEN RECALLED? WHAT IS THE LIKELIHOOD OF THE MATRIX ACCELERATING OUT OF CONTROL ON ME AFTER THE PEDAL IS FLOORED WITH NO ACCELERATION? THE RISK SEEMS PRETTY HIGH CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE. I AM A MOTHER OF 2. ARE MY KIDS SAFE IN THIS CAR? ARE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD SAFE FROM THIS CAR?
I WAS SLOWLY PULLING UP THE DRIVEWAY TO PARK BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THE COROLLA SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD. IT ACCELERATED QUICKLY AND I COULDN'T STOP IT. IT CRASHED INTO THE BACK OF THE OTHER VEHICLEWAAQ. BOTH VEHICLES SUSTAINED DAMAGE BUT THE COROLLA'S IS SIGNIFICANT.
ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. VEHICLE EACH TIME WAS AT VERY LOW SPEED, APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR PARK TO REVERSE, WITH LIGHT PRESSURE APPLIED TO BRAKES. ENGINE BEGAN TO RACE AND ACCELERATE, BRAKING HARDER HAD NO EFFECT, AND VEHICLE STOPPED ONLY WHEN SHIFTED TO PARK. INSTANCES OCCURRED WHILE PARALLEL PARKING OR COMING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY ONTO A BUSY STREET. ACCELERATOR WAS NOT STUCK IN DOWN POSITION, BUT ENGINE ROARED AND RACED ON ITS OWN POWER. I HAD NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE DURING THE FOUR OR FIVE SECONDS IT TOOK ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER ON NOVEMBER 17, 2017 AFTER FIRST THREE INCIDENTS, WITH SERVICE DEPARTMENT FINDING NO PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO DEALER AGAIN ON FEBRUARY 14, 2018, AFTER TWO MORE INCIDENTS OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION. SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY SUGGESTED USER ERROR, MY CONFUSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT WAS NOT USER ERROR AND NOT FLOOR MATS STUCK UNDER GAS PEDAL. IT HAPPENED FIVE TIMES AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL. THE CAUSE WAS DEFINITELY UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND IS THE SECOND SUCH INCIDENT WITH THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED USED IN DECEMBER 2015.
I HAD MY BRAKE APPLIED AND WAS STOPPING ON CITY STREET AND ENGINE STARTED RACING AND IT HIT THE VAN AHEAD. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO THE PARK POSITION HOPING TO STOP THE RACING ENGINE, BUT, IT DIDN'T STOP. I AM SEEKING POSSIBLE SOURCE OF PROBLEM AS I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IT HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 34,000 MILES. CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I CAN HAVE IT FIXED SO I DON'T INJURE OR KILL ANYONE,
THE DATE AND MILEAGE I LIST ARE APPROXIMATE. AT FIRST WE THOUGHT THIS WAS AN ISSUE RELATED TO BRAKES NOT RELEASING, NOW WE SEE IT IS RELATED TO A GAS PEDAL/THROTTLE ISSUE. WHAT HAPPENS IS WHEN TAKING OFF THE CAR WOULD FALL FLAT, LIKE BRAKES STICKING. NOW THE PROBLEM IS WORSENING, AND IT IS APPARENT THAT THE ENGINE IS NOT RESPONDING, THAT IS, NO RPM'S BUILDING. IT IS NOT THE BEHAVIOR OF AN ENGINE HESITATING. IT IS RUNNING FINE, JUST UNRESPONSIVE. NOW A FEW DAYS AGO MONDAY MAY 27, 2015 I HAD AN ISSUE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT CLIMB OVER 15 MPH FOR ABOUT 1/2 MILE. NO MISSFIRE, NO SIGNS OF ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. I HAD THE GAS PEDAL DOWN ABOUT 1/2 WAY FOR THE CAR TO EVEN MOVE. THE CAR WAS RECENTLY AT MIDAS. THEY SEEN NO PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A POLE FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. UPDATED 3/28/14*CN UPDATE: THE CONSUMER WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, AND SHIFTED TO PARK, WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED GREEN, SHE SHIFTED TO DRIVE, AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE POLICE REPORT INDICATED SHE WAS REAR ENDED AND THEN CRASHED INTO A POLE. UPDATED 04/24/14

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AFTER HE STARTED THE VEHICLE, AND PLACED IT IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS, AND CONCLUDED IT WAS DUE TO DRIVER PEDAL MISAPPLICATION.
I WAS PARKING IN MY TANDEM PARKING SPOT BEHIND MY HUSBAND'S CAR. I TAPPED THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN STEPPED ON THE BRAKE TO FINISH PARKING. WHEN MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE, AND STOPPED WHEN IT HIT MY HUSBAND'S CAR. THE HOOD, BUMPER, GRILL, AND FRONT FENDERS ON MY CAR WERE DAMAGED. THE BUMPER ON HIS CAR WAS CRACKED. I AM CERTAIN I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE AND NOT THE ACCELERATOR. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA. THEY DID AN EDR INVESTIGATION ON MY CAR BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR FIND EVIDENCE OF SUA. THE PERSON WHO DID THE INSPECTION TOLD ME HE DEEMED IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. TOYOTA TAKES ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS TO CLOSE THE CASE FROM THE TIME OF INSPECTION. I WAS STILL CONCERNED FROM BACKGROUND INFORMATION I HAD READ ABOUT SUA (THAT OFTEN IT CANNOT BE DETECTED OR REPLICATED) AND DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE. I TRADED IN THE CAR AND PURCHASED A NEW CAR (A HONDA THIS TIME), AND WAS UP FRONT WITH THEM ABOUT THE INCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY INCREASED ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DECELERATE AND TRAVELED OVER A CONCRETE PARKING BARRIER BEFORE CRASHING INTO THE FRONT END OF AN UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYED, WHICH CAUSED BURNS TO THE CONTACT'S LEFT ARM, BRUISED RIBS AND INJURIES TO THE CHEST AREA. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED IN AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ACCELERATION FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,500.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, THE FLOOR MAT BECAME LODGED BETWEEN THE FLOORBOARD AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE CRASHED THROUGH A FENCED, FELL OFF A CLIFF AND LANDED IN A CREEK. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LACERATIONS TO THE LEG, A CONCUSSION AND A SHATTERED COLLAR BONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 TO 50 MPH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL JAMMED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKES, BUT IT FAILED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. HE IMMEDIATELY PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, WHICH DEACTIVATED THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 203,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
WHILE DRIVING OUR 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA, WITH APROX. 70,000 MILES ON IT.IN A PARKING LOT SEARCHING FOR A PARKING SPACE, WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, DRIVER TURNED TO PULL INTO A PERPENDICULAR TO DRIVE LANE PARKING SLOT. WITH FOOT STILL ON BRAKE, ENGINE SUDDENLY WENT TO FULL THROTTLE FIVE FEET FROM CURB, EVEN WITH BOTH FEET ON BRAKE PEDDLE, CAR WOULD NOT STOP. ENGINE OVERPOWERED BRAKES, CAR CAME TO A STOP AFTER HITTING CONCRETE/BRICK TWO FOOT SQUARE POLE. AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, HOOD HIT WINDSHIELD ALONG WITH AIR BAGS BREAKING WINDSHIELD INTO MANY SHARDS OF GLASS. ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE AND FRONT WHEELS CONTINUED TO SPIN UNTIL IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF. THERE WERE NO PERSONAL INJURIES HOWEVER THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. POLICE WERE SUMMONED, PERSONAL INFORMATION WAS TAKEN, NO CHARGES WERE ISSUED. *TR
MY 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA HAS HAD SEVERAL EPISODES OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHILE GOING DOWN STEEP MOUNTAINS SUCH AS THE GRAPEVINE PASS NEAR LA AND HIGHWAY 101 BETWEEN LA AND SANTA BARBARA. WHILE GOING DOWNHILL, MY 21 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TRIED TO STEP ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR, BUT IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 90 MILES AN HOUR AND SHE HAD SOME VERY VERY SCARY MOMENTS... WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO 2 DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND CALLED TOYOTA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AND SERVICE SUPERVISORS BUT OUR COMPLAINTS WERE IGNORED ON GROUNDS THAT THE 2006 COROLLA WAS"NOT ON THE RECALL LIST" OR THAT THEY COULD NOT "REPLICATE THE PROBLEM". SINCE THE PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENS ON STEEP, DOWNHILL ROADS WHEN MY DAUGHTER STEPS ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR, IT NATURALLY CANNOT BE REPLICATED ON THE FLAT SURFACES OF SACRAMENTO OR ONTARIO, CA. AFTER GIVING TOYOTA SUCH SPECIFIC INFORMATION, ONE WOULD HOPE THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO EXPLORE IT, FIX IT OR REPLACE THE CAR GIVEN THE HIGH DEGREE OF DANGER AND THE HIGH INCIDENCE OF DEADLY CRASHES IN RECENT YEARS. WE ARE VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THEIR FAILURE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR REFUND US THE BLUE BOOK VALUE SO THAT WE COULD PURCHASE A SAFER CAR FOR OUR CHILD. THE PROBLEM REOCCUR EVERY TIME MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS ROUT TO COME HOME FROM COLLEGE ON VACATIONS. SHE HAS ADAPTED BY DRIVING ONLY 55 MILES PER HOUR ON THE GRAPEVINE PASS ON THE SLOWEST LANE. HOWEVER, NOW THAT WE ARE COGNIZANT OF THE PROBLEM AND HEAR ABOUT SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, WE ARE SIMPLY TERRIFIED AND WANT TO BUY HER A NEW AND A SAFER CAR. WE FEEL TOTALLY FRUSTRATED BY TOYOTA'S FAILURE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND BY THEIR TENDENCY TO BRUSH IT OFF DESPITE THE MANY FATALITIES. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PUT GOVERNMENTAL PRESSURES ON TOYOTA AND INSIST THAT THEY FIX THE PROBLEM RATHER THAN HIDE FROM IT AND ABDICATE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO THEIR CLIENTS AND OTHER INNOCENT DRIVERS. ON 3, AUGUST 2009, I DROPPED OFF MY TOYOTA COROLLA, YEAR 2006, TO POWER TOYOTA, IRVINE, CA DUE TO THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LUNGES FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS BARELY TOUCHED. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR, THE VEHICLE STILL LUNGES FORWARD WHEN BARELY TOUCHING GAS PEDAL. THUS, IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO SERVICE, ASKED TO HAVE THE ISSUE LUNGING FORWARD LOOKED AT AGAIN. POWER TOYOTA SERVICE TEAM ASSIGNED A MECHANIC TO RIDE ALONG WITH ME FOR A TEST DRIVE. DURING THE TEST DRIVE, THE MECHANIC AGREED THE LUNGING FORWARD FROM A DEAD STOP IS NOT NORMAL AND WE DROVE BACK TO POWER TOYOTA FACILITY. ONCE ARRIVED AT TOYOTA, THE MECHANIC WENT TO TALK TO HIS SUPERVISOR AND A DIFFERENT MECHANIC CAME OUT AND LOOKED AT THE CAR. THE SECOND MECHANIC STATED 'THIS IS NORMAL FOR TOYOTA', DISMISSING THE FIRST MECHANICS OBSERVATIONS. I ASKED FOR THE FIRST MECHANIC, THE SECOND MECHANIC STATED 'THE MECHANIC (FIRST) IS NOT AVAILABLE. IF I WISH, I COULD HAVE THE ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR PARTS REPLACED, BUT I WILL NEED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR/SERVICE AND THE EXPENSE WILL NOT BE COVERED BY TOYOTA. RECENTLY I CONTACTED POWER TOYOTA TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY VEHICLE'S ACCELERATOR SYSTEM INSPECTED, POWER TOYOTA SAID 'SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, I WILL NEED TO CONTACT TOYOTA'S CONSUMER DEPARTMENT, POWER TOYOTA CANNOT DO ANYTHING'. THUS, CONTACTED TOYOTA CONSUMER DEPARTMENT AND VERBALLY MADE A COMPLAINT ON SAID ISSUE. 'VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LUNGES FORWARD WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PETAL IS BARELY TOUCHED. WITH RECENT INFORMATION RELEASED BY TOYOTA ON COROLLA ACCELERATOR SYSTEMS (OTHER TOYOTA MODELS ARE INCLUDE) AND RECALLS. I AM FORMALLY ASKING TOYOTA MOTOR SALES SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO CRITICALLY INSPECT MY VEHICLE'S ACCELERATOR'S ELECTRONIC AND MECHANICAL SYSTEM AND REPLACE ALL PARTS IN QUESTION, TO ENSURE OCCUPANTS SAFETY. MY TOYOTA COROLLA HAS ACCELERATED UNEXPECTEDLY SEVERAL TIMES, GENERALLY WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS AROUND 32 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT, I REAR-ENDED A PICKUP TRUCK AFTER A RED LIGHT HAD TURNED GREEN. THE SECOND TIME, I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE CAR SHOT BACKWARDS 30' INTO A POST (DENTING MY BUMPER AND BREAKING THE REAR DRIVERS' SIDE LIGHTS). THE THIRD TIME, NOTHING WAS BROKEN - I WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON THE ROAD - BUT IT SCARED THE BEJESUS OUT OF ME. I CALLED TOYOTA TO COMPLAIN AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR. MY BELIEF IS THAT THERE ARE ACCELERATOR / ELECTRONICS PROBLEMS WITH THE TOYOTA COROLLA THAT THEY ARE NOT ADMITTING.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE MOVING IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SHIFT INTO PARK. WHEN THE CONTACT PUT THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE DRIVE POSITION, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AGAIN. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING A 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA AND WAS PULLING INTO HER PARKING PLACE AT HER APARTMENT (ESTIMATED MOVING ONLY SEVERAL MPH). WHEN SHE TOOK HER FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE, THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD ACCELERATING VERY FAST, JUMPED THE CURB, AND CRASHED THROUGH THE BUILDING WALL AND INTO A NEIGHBOR'S APARTMENT. THE CAR STRUCK THE TENANT INSIDE, CAUSING EXTENSIVE INJURIES. THE POLICE SURMISED HER FOOT HIT THE ACCELERATOR, BUT SHE KEPT REPEATING 'THE CAR SUDDENLY JUMPED FORWARD ON ITS OWN'. LACKING EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY, WE HAD NO WAY TO QUESTION THE POLICE'S REPORT; HOWEVER, IN MY MOTHER'S RECOUNTING THE EXPERIENCE, IT DIDN'T SEEM TO MAKE ANY SENSE. THEN, AS WE HAVE SEEN OTHERS RECENTLY RECOUNTING SIMILAR EXPERIENCES AND WATCHING VIDEOS ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WITH TOYOTA VEHICLES, WE REALIZED THAT THIS SEEMED TO BE EXACTLY WHAT OUR MOTHER EXPERIENCED. FURTHERMORE, BOTH MY SISTER AND MY NIECE BOTH RECENTLY DROVE MY MOTHER'S CAR ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND BOTH EXPERIENCED SUDDEN RAPID ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED. THE PROBLEM THEY EXPERIENCED WAS SO UNSETTLING, THAT THEY WARNED MY MOTHER TO KEEP THE CRUISE CONTROL TURNED OFF. THESE EXPERIENCES COMBINED WITH REPORTS THAT PROBLEMS WITH EARLIER MODELS OF TOYOTA VEHICLES THAN THE 2009-2010 RECALLED MODELS LED US TO BELIEVE THAT OUR MOTHER'S ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN UNCOVERED WITH TOYOTA VEHICLES. *TR

MARCH 4, 2010 2006 TOYOTA COROLLA LE. OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS, I AM NOTICING SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF MY VEHICLE EVEN WHEN I AM BRAKING THE VEHICLE AND TRYING TO STOP IT. BEFORE ALL THESE RECALL ISSUES STARTED, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME OR THE ROAD MAY HAVE SOME DOWNGRADES. BUT NOW AFTER SEEING THAT THOUSANDS OF OTHER DRIVERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE, I NOW FEEL MY OBSERVATION WITH MY VEHICLE SPEEDING SUDDENLY IS NOT AN ILLUSION. TOYOTA HAS NOT INCLUDED 2006 TOYOTA COROLLAS IN THEIR RECALL LIST. BUT I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD ALSO BE IN THE LIST AS THERE MAY BE SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DRIVERS LIKE ME, FEELING THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND NOT REPORTING IT BECAUSE OF THE PROLONGED PROCESS.
