Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Toyota Sienna. The vehicle was purchased from a private seller. The contact stated that while registering the vehicle at the local Department of Motor Vehicles, the contact was informed that the odometer mileage was last recorded at 141,000. The contact later purchased a Carfax report, which indicated the past mileage recorded at 287,000. The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased on November 8, 2025, the odometer was recorded at 98,043. In addition, the mileage recorded on the title was 97,043, and in parentheses, the words “Not Actual” were handwritten.
All interior dome/lights (door side lights, visor mirror lights, all overhead passenger lights, etc) not lighting up at all. Fuse in engine compartment is good. Vehicle has been at auto dealership where originally purchased. Safety concerns are that at night, unable to determine if there has been access by person or if person is actually in vehicle. Vehicle diagnoses was begun on 6/12/2023 and is still in process of issues. Received a call from the service representative on 6/19/2023 that water had accumulated under the fuse box in the engine compartment causing corrosion at the connection of the wire harness to the underside of the fuse box. Initially this caused the the internal lights to fail. There is much more corrosion occurring which will eventually cause a complete electrical failure and possible engine failure/fire. Current recommendation from service manager is to completely replace the wire harness at a cost of $7,000+. Insurance may or may not cover the cost of repair. The insurance adjuster is meeting today with the service manager. In my opinion, this is a serious defect in Toyota Sienna manufacturing, design and materials used.
Head unit kept rebooting.
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after several attempts. The contact stated that she was quadriplegic and was unable to exit the vehicle because the door lock switch was disengaged but failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that she was able to jumpstart the vehicle with assistance. The contact then engaged and disengaged the door lock switch and she was able to exit the vehicle. The contact stated that she notified the modifier of the vehicle, but they said they could not assist with the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000. The VIN was not available.
The vehicle rear sliding door had a recall. I had the recall preformed at Smithtown Toyota. After the correction was done. I continue to have same issues with the drivers side rear sliding door. Where it will not open when pushing the open button on my controls in the front. Or when my child 12 years old attempts to manually open the door. As this does not happen all the times. The dealer says they can not replicate the problem and it is working to manufacture standards. I spoke with Toyota corporate and they are aware of continued problems with the sliding rear doors. the have a customer support group, but I would have to pay for the dealer to inspect the vehicle. I have extended warranty so they said I wouldn't then have to pay. However every time you take it in with a problem they can never replicate the problem. They are not the only dealer with this response. It must be a set line throughout all brands as its always that answer until your warranty expires. When it expires then all of a sudden they can find all problems and fix everything.
AT VARIOUS TIMES, THE SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE WHEN THE POWER BUTTON IS ON. I HAVE RECEIVED A CARD TO GET THIS FIXED AS SENSORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY IN A PARKING SPACE. IT IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN NOW.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND SCREEN IS BEEN OFF AND RESTARTED WHILE DRIVING SINCE ONE YEAR AGO.SOME RAINY DAY THAT HAPPENED 4~5 TIMES IN HOUR.GETTING WORSE!!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR CHIME WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH TOYOTA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INHERENT TO THE VEHICLE MODEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT EXPLAINED THAT THE SIENNA VEHICLE'S OWNERS MANUAL INDICATED THAT THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS SUPPOSED TO ACTIVATE WHEN THE VEHICLE'S DOOR WAS OPENED AND SHIFTED OUT OF PARK. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,800.
THE DASH WAS RANDOMLY FREEZING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN RESET ITSELF WHILE DRIVING. ONCE IT RESET ITSELF, IT WENT BACK TO THE DEFAULT SETTINGS. IT WAS AT HEART CITY TOYOTA MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. EACH TIME THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER DROPPING IT OFF IN APRIL OF 2017, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OF THE DASH RESETTING. HE DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND A HARD-RESET IN ORDER TO TRY FIXING IT. LOW AND BEHOLD, TWO DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. AFTER HAVING IT AT HEART CITY TOYOTA TO HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT FLICKERING, FOR THE FIFTH TIME, FIXED, I REPORTED ABOUT THE DASH STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM OF RESETTING ITSELF. THE MANAGER OF HEART CITY TOYOTA TOLD ME AT THAT POINT THAT I AM NOT WELCOME BACK TO THEIR DEALERSHIP. AFTER CONTACTING TOYOTA CORPORATE ABOUT THIS, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO REFUSE SERVICE EVEN WITH THE WARRANTY STILL PRESENT. THEY EXPLAINED THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED. SO I CONTACTED JORDAN TOYOTA AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. THE SERVICE MANAGER THERE INFORMED ME THAT IF HEART CITY TOYOTA WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, THEN THEY WERE NOT GOING TO START FROM SCRATCH TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM THEMSELVES. THREE WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTY ROAD, THE DASH BEGAN TO SMOKE AND I PULLED OFF OF THE ROAD. WHEN IT BEGAN TO SMOKE EVEN MORE, I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND AS I WAS GETTING AS FAR AWAY AS I COULD I SEEN FLAMES. I CALLED 9-1-1 RIGHT AWAY. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO GET THERE AND EXTINGUISH THE FIRE, THE VAN WAS DESTROYED. WHICH ENDED UP BEING A TOTAL LOSS. ALL OF WHICH SEEMED TO BE DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FIRE IN THE DASH. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM / SCREEN RESTARTS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. NO BUTTONS ON STEERING WHEEL OR ON NAVIGATION SYSTEM ARE OPERATIONAL DURING THIS PERIOD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING A 35 MPH, AN UNKNOWN LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS IN AN UNLATCHED POSITION HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURERS RECALL RELATED TO THE DOOR LATCH THAT WAS CURRENTLY PREPARING THE REMEDY FOR THE CONDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
OUR DAUGHTER-IN-LAW RECEIVED AN INTERIM RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA YESTERDAY. (SAFETY RECALL G04). APPARENTLY THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE SIENA CAN COME OPEN WHILE THE VAN IS IN MOTION ENDANGERING THE OCCUPANTS. IN THIS CASE, THE OCCUPANTS ARE OUR FOUR YEAR GRANDSON, WHO HAS DOWN SYNDROME, AND THREE YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. TOYOTA HAS DECLINED TO DISCLOSE WHETHER THERE HAVE BEEN ANY ACCIDENTS, INJURIES OR DEATHS DUE TO THIS DEFECT. THEY ARE WORKING ON A FIX BUT DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION. TOYOTA'S RECOMMENDATION IS TO DISENGAGE THE ELECTRONIC DOORS. WE VIEWED THAT ADDITIONAL COST OPTION AS A SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE FACTOR FOR OUR DAUGHTER-IN-LAW. SURELY, A COMPANY WITH THE RESOURCES OF TOYOTA COULD COME UP WITH A FIX CONCURRENTLY WITH THIS NOTICE! MINIVANS ARE GENERALLY DRIVEN BY FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN.
NONSTOP FLICKERING OF CRUISE CONTROL ILLUMINATION AT NIGHT. FLICKERING IS INDEPENDENT OF SPEED, STEERING WHEEL POSITION. VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING.
WHILE TRAVELING, OUR 2015 AWD TOYOTA SIENNA WITH 8K MILES CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 45 MPH ON RT 102 NORTH IN SOUTHWEST HARBOR, ME BY THE ECHO LAKE NATIONAL PARK ENTRANCE, WHEN WE NOTICED WHITE/BROWN SMOKE IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. WE HAD ONLY BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. WHEN THE CAR CAME TO A STOP, BLACK SMOKE CAME INTO THE CABIN AND EVERYONE EVACUATED. DURING THE EVACUATION, WE NOTICED FLAMES COMING FROM THE FRONT ENGINE COMPARTMENT AS WELL AS THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. BY THE TIME THE SOUTHWEST HARBOR POLICE AND FIRE REACHED US, THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVING WELL THE ENTIRE TRIP. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED ONCE AT 5K MILES. IT IS UNKNOWN EXACTLY WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE. WE'VE FILED AN INSURANCE CLAIM WITH ARBELLA INSURANCE. THE CLAIM NUMBER IS 033734081. ALSO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE RANGER [XXX] FILED A REPORT [XXX] ABOUT THE INCIDENT. VIDEO OF FIRE TAKEN BY SOUTHWEST HARBOR FIRE DEPT HTTPS://WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/161511330824/VIDEOS/10153605854980825/ INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT. I'M TRYING TO AVOID A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT BY BEING FORCED TO SEE THE GAUGES THAT ARE ESSENTIALLY INVISIBLE WHILE DRIVING. THE STANDARD TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER GAUGES IN THIS CAR HAVE DARK FACES. WHEN DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY WITH SUNGLASSES ON, THEY ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE AS ONE HAS TO LOOK VERY CLOSELY AND LONGER THAN NORMAL TO BE ABLE TO SEE ONE'S SPEED. THE OPTIONAL SE MODEL HAS THESE INSTRUMENTS WITH WHITE FACES AND WOULD BE MUCH EASIER TO SEE IN BRIGHT CONDITIONS. I FEEL TOYOTA SHOULD RETRO-FIT PROPERLY DESIGNED GAUGES TO AVOID ACCIDENTS THAT MAY OCCUR BECAUSE THE DRIVER WAS DISTRACTED BY TRYING TO SEE THE DARK GAUGES!
THE CRUISE-CONTROL STALK LIGHT HAS STARTED TO FLICKER AT NIGHT. IT'S VERY DISTRACTING AND HARD TO NOT KEEP LOOKING DOWN AT IT WHILE DRIVING.
NONSTOP FLICKERING OF CRUISE CONTROL ILLUMINATION AT NIGHT. FLICKERING IS INDEPENDENT OF SPEED, STEERING WHEEL POSITION. VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING. DEALER SAYS NO FIX AVAILABLE. TOYOTA CORP NOTIFIED - CASE OPENED.. NO FIX AVAILABLE. BUYER BEWARE.
