UPON USING THE KEY FOB TO LOCK OR UNLOCK DOORS, OR JUST OPENING AN UNLOCKED DOOR, A LOUD CLICKING SOUNDS STARTS FROM UNDER THE DASH AND CAN LAST FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND SHIFT SIDE FROM DRIVE SIDE TO PASSENGER SIDE AND BACK. THE A/C NOR HEAT WORKS WHILE THE CLICKING SOUND IS MADE. WHEN YOU CHANGE SETTING FROM A/C TO HEAT, THE CLICKING SOUND STARTS AGAIN. INITIALLY, AFTER THE CLICKING SOUND STOPPED, THE A/C AND/OR HEAT WORKED FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. NOW, AT TIMES, NEITHER THE A/C NOR HEAT WORKS. IF EITHER WORKS, IT IS ONLY ONE SIDE AND IT SHIFTS AS TO WHICH SIDE WORKS. BOTH SIDES NO LONGER WORK AT ONCE. DRIVER AND PASSENGER HAVE SEPARATE A/C AND HEAT CONTROLS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND THERE IS NOT A KEY IN THE IGNITION. ALSO HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS ON, WHILE IN DRIVE AND IN PARK, STATIONARY, MOVING, TURNING, STOPPED, ETC. ALWAYS MAKES THE CLICKING SOUND WHEN UNLOCKING AND LOCKING DOORS. NOT FOB RELATED BECAUSE CLICKING SOUND HAPPENS WHEN MANUALLY UNLOCKING AND LOCKING DOORS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION. (OTHER IMPALA OWNERS HAVE TOLD ME THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE) THE CLICKING SOUNDSTARTED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AND WOULD HAPPEN OCCASIONALLY. NOW IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY, EACH TIME THE DOOR OPENS AND AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF. IF WE ARE UNSURE IF DOORS ARE LOCKED AND USE THE KEY FOB TO LOCK, THE CLICKING STARTS AGAIN.
FAULTY WIRING HARNESS FOR THE STABLE LINK SYSTEM FRONT DRIVER SIDE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON ALONG WITH THE STABLE LINK SYSTEM AND LOSE POWER TO THE ENGINE AND SHUT DOWN.
ACTUATOR FAILS UNDER DASH CAUSING A/C TO FAIL IN THE ARIZONA DESERT. THIS IS THE 4 OR 5TH-TIME CHEVROLET HAS REPLACED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY CLAIM IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NO RECALL AS IT IS NOT SAFETY RELATED. A/C FAILURE IN THE ARIZONA DESERT IS DEFINATLY A SAFTY ISSUE.
IGNITION STICKS IN THE 'START' POSITION & HAS TO MANUALLY BE TURNED TO THE 'RUN' POSITION. NEW IGNITION HAD TO BE INSTALLED.
MY REAR DEFROST STOPPED WORKING ONE DAY SO I INSPECTED THE HARNESS FOR REAR DEFROST AND I NOTICED IT WAS BURNT UP AND MELTED AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS EXPERIRNCED THIS ISSUE. LOTS OF OTHER IMPALA OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I CSLLED THE DEALER AND ASKED IF THIS WAS A RECALL AND THEY SAID NO THIS IS A SAFTEY HAZARD TO ME AND PLENTY OF OTHER MOTORISTS.
DASHBOARD INDICATOR SHOWS 88 MILES FUEL RANGE REMAINING. CAR RAN OUT OF GAS. FUEL RANGE INDICATOR KEPT INCREASING THE RANGE DURING THE LAST 20 MILES OF DRIVING. NO ALARM SOUNDED. CAR HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. WE CAN NO LONGER TRUST THE FUEL RANGE INDICATOR.
2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA: A WEEK AGO MY PASSENGER WINDOW (BACKSEAT) I ROLLED IT DOWN WITH THE DRIVER SIDE BUT COULD ONLY ROLL IT BACK UP WITH THE ORINGNAL DOOR ( RIGHT SIDE BACK DOOR) AND NOW MY BREAK LIGHTS STAY ON I HAVE TO UNPLUG BATTERY TO CUT EVERYTHING OFF BECAUSE IT WILL NOT GO OFF ANY OTHER WAY I TURNED CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND ALSO TURN LIGHTS OFF INSTEAD OF AUTO AND STILL THEY REMAIN ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A WIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE ENGINE, THE BATTERY FAILED. THE BATTERY WAS ABLE TO BE JUMPSTARTED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT FOUND NO FAILURE. THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT REPLACE THE GRILL TO PREVENT THE BATTERY FROM FAILING AGAIN. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO START WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED IN THE IGNITION. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE STARTED. SHORTLY AFTER, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM RESET AND ALL OF THE WARNING PROMPTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALARM, TURN SIGNALS, HORN, AND NOTIFICATIONS FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION BECAUSE IT WAS TOO HOT. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE SERVICE STABILITRAC, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE HUB ASSEMBLY AND SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT WIRE HARNESS WERE REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED CONSTANTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,371.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO IGNITION SWITCH RECALL ISSUES. *SMD CONSUMER SENT ADDITIONAL CORRESPONDENCE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED ALL THE DEALER DID WAS CHANGE THE FACTORY ISSUED KEY SO HE COULD NOT PUT ADDITIONAL KEYS ON THE RING AND REPLACED THE LARGER KEY RING, WITH A SMALLER ONE. *JB UPDATED 12/07/15. *JB

A SECOND NOTICE WAS RECEIVED ON OCT 4, 2014 INDICATING THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND TO CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER CONTACTING THREE LOCAL DEALERS IN THE AREA HE WAS TOLD THAT PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO APPOINTMENT COULD BE SCHEDULED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN AUGUST FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE RECALL NOTICE INDICATED THAT SHE WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. SHE WAS CONCERNED THAT HER VEHICLE COULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING PER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WOULD LIKE FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED BY ANY DEALER IN HER STATE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY SINCE SHE HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED SIX MONTHS AGO AND SHE WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN EXISTING RECALL. THE GM RECALL NUMBER ON HER NOTICE WAS 14299. SHE WAS EXPECTING SOMEONE TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS IMMEDIATELY. THERE ARE NO FAILURES AT THIS TIME. RK
