ABLE TO SHIFT GEAR POSITIONS BUT THE INDICATED SHIFT POSITION DOES NOT REPRESENT THE GEAR POSITION THE VEHICLE IS IN. WHEN I STOP AND PARK THE VEHICLE, I AM ABLE TO SHIFT THE LEVER TO THE "PARK" POSITION, BUT THE VEHICLE IS NOT ACTUALLY IN PARK POSITION. I CURRENTLY HAVE THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON. VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY IN PARK WHEN GEAR IS IN PARK POSITION. THE LIGHTEST TOUCH WILL KNOCK GEAR SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND CAR ROLLS AWAY.

WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS (EG 20MPH) AND THEN RE-APPLYING GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THERE IS A LARGE JUMP/KICK FROM WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE LOCK UP O F TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE. ALSO THE POWERTRAIN DOESNT FEEL SMOOTH WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH SOMETHING IS LOOSE OR NOT ROTATING ON THE CORRECT AXIS. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO DEALER AND MECHANICS ABOUT 7 TIMES THIS YEAR ALL TO NO AVAIL. THE VIBRATIONS AND UNSMOOTHNESS AREN'T EXPERIENCED IN COMPETITOR CARS THAT I HAVE DRIVEN. THIS HAS OCCURED OVER THE COURSE OF 7 MONTHS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INDEPENDENTLY FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.

2013 CHEVY IMPALA WITH APPROXIMATELY 43000 MILES DEVELOPED A GRINDING NOISE IN THE FRONT END WHEN IT WAS TURNED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT AT LOW SPEEDS (5MPH), ALSO THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WOULD BEGIN TO FLASH. IT BECAME SO SEVERE THAT IT CAUSED THE FRONT END OF THE CAR TO NOSE DIVE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. CAR WAS TAKEN TO A CHEVY DEALER, MECHANIC FOUND FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING HUB LOOSE AND BAD. REPLACED WHEEL BEARING HUB AT A COST OF $350, DEALER CLAIMED WHEEL BEARING HUB NOT COVERED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY OR UNDER ANY RECALLS. *TR

2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA RENTAL CAR. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SHIFT INDICATOR ISSUES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED GM THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO REMOVE THE LETTERS FROM THE SHIFT INDICATOR CONSOLE BETWEEN THE TWO FRONT SEATS. INSTEAD, GM PUT THE SHIFT INDICATOR AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE SPEEDOMETER, DIRECTLY OVER THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT, THE SHIFT INDICATOR ON THE CONSOLE DASH WAS BLOCKED BY THE STEERING WHEEL. FURTHERMORE, THE HANDS OF THE DRIVER, WOULD ALSO BLOCK THE INDICATOR ON THE SPEEDOMETER.
